Deathnote Another Note: BB Murder Cases. It's not a manga, it's a book. But I like it. He didn't kill him though. And Beyond Birthday was supposed to be the new L. But he didn't even commit suicide, Naomi caught him in time. Because she figured the whole thing out. :O
Well, if the author didn't write it then it didn't actually happen...therefore its not L, nor in his character. I'm not saying the novel isn't good, but its just not true? I don't really know how to explain what I'm getting at here...Although the author did say that he liked the novel...
It could've happened, probably did since from what i see it makes no affect to anything in the anime. Wouldn't cause the anime to change one bit, anything can be true to an anime if it doesn't change anything from the actual show.
Yeah, It could have happened, since Ohba doesn't like giving background stories to his characters, BUT keep in mind that even the anime isn't completley correct. If it didn't happen in the manga, then Ohba didn't come up with it, and it did not happen. That's just my opinoin.

People who use the Death Note become Shinigami. Thats the entire purpose of the Death Note. And it's only the people who use it because it's a test because its a Shinigami's job to end peoples lives. If they don't then humans would never die. This isn't in the anime but it was revealed by the author in a book.
I thought it said in the manga that when a human uses a death note, there is nothing for them after death. It's just... nothing. And Shinigami have to kill humans because if they don't then they'll die... humans will already die without being killed by a Shinigami. That's what 'life spans' are for. The Shinigami just makes the person die faster...

Plus, in the end of the anime, when Light dies, L's ghost stands above Light, in a similar fasion to how Light stood above L. So that also throws in the idea of ghosts of people (or at least those who use the Death Note... or perhaps those killed by it too.)

technailly they are immune to other humans with it other than that fair game for them to die and they dont go to heaven or hell.

People who use the Death Note become Shinigami. Thats the entire purpose of the Death Note. And it's only the people who use it because it's a test because its a Shinigami's job to end peoples lives. If they don't then humans would never die. This isn't in the anime but it was revealed by the author in a book.

I thought it said in the manga that when a human uses a death note, there is nothing for them after death. It's just... nothing. And Shinigami have to kill humans because if they don't then they'll die... humans will already die without being killed by a Shinigami. That's what 'life spans' are for. The Shinigami just makes the person die faster...

Actually, All it says is that " Anyone who uses the Death Note can neither pass on to Heaven nor Hell" it never actually says Nothingness , which would help fuel the speculation towards the Shinigami idea, at least In my opinion

there is no heaven or hell as explained in I think the "how to use it" of the last episode. it said their souls go to nothingness or something like that.
so yeah, no hell/heaven for you.

It actualy said that Hell IS nothingness.
It also said that those who use the Death Note cannot go to Heaven nor Hell, which would then mean that there is a Heaven that humans cannot go to... according to the book.
Plus, in the end of the anime, when Light dies, L's ghost stands above Light, in a similar fasion to how Light stood above L. So that also throws in the idea of ghosts of people (or at least those who use the Death Note... or perhaps those killed by it too.)
