well considering 67 people are now dead who were connected to Bill and Hillary,s past indisgretions its seems fair to me that she might think "something"could happen to Obama ...mt favorite was the guy found with three gunshot wounds to the chest ....it was called a suicide......only one of many
It is absolute B.S. to think that Obama supporters are somehow fanning this or using this as an excuse to hate Hillary. Obama and his campaign could've said alot worse about what she said Hillary and her supporters should stop doing their favorite hobby: whining.
Ashwento: "Thats what this is all about, hope/optimism vs fear/anxiety." Ahh ..the laws of propaganda! Ever hear of Goebbels? He was the Propaganda-Meister behind Hitler. He knew all about how to sell people hope & optimism. That's what Hitler's followers were buying into: the promise of change and hope.
Go with substance, not hype. Hillary is the far better candidate. At least she has really done things for people!
Beethoven, you are an example of how hillary supporters are uneducated.. you think nazi propoganda was based on hope? After world war 1 the german economy was struggling the nazi played on that fear and anger, there was mass resentment over the Treaty of Versailles, and the well off Jews. Hitler was promising to go back to the old germany and his poor followers believed him.... just like clinton is promising to go back to the 90's.
Ashwento: No need to insult. Yes, the German economy had bottomed out and the Jews were resented, so resentment and anger were in the mix. And ultimately the hope was for a resurgence (as you pointed out), which was to save Germany and make the Germans prosperous and powerful. I don't see how that is not selling hope and optimism, esp in the youth camps.
Maybe I should have just written that Hitler's followers were buying into empty lies...
Hillary and the other White Racists and Supremacists need to stop trying to plant the seed for someone to kill our Brother.Black people are that damn stupid we aren't going to stand for killing off our Brothers.Blacks will see it as killing off hope.I suggests the Racists and White Supremacits think very hard before they harm this Brother.
We have to understand foremost that power is the greatest high.. Hilary has put too much into this...what she realy meant with the statement she made? tough call, a freudian slip? I think its safe to say Vince Foster and all, that this woman will do what it takes to achieve her goal.. but then what do I know?
DeceptivelyHumble, leave the poor dead man in peace, for Pete's sake. The man committed suicide. I know you don't believe that, but, just for a minute, imagine you're wrong and he took his own life like all the government records show. That's a very sad story, don't you think? He was so distraught, he took his own life, and people like you go around on the internet calling the Clinton's his murderers. He's looking down on you, you should feel ashamed.
Axelrod is lying: watch?v=MVy9w3Zyzhc (Obama camp caught two-faced.) Axelrod's gang FUELED THE MISREPRESENTATION OF HILLARY's statement to the press, then after the thing took off, pretend they didn't know where it came from. WANT THIS FOR GOVERNMENT? google search/read: Politico: Media Hype - How Small Stories Become Big News and read in Politico: How the sausage gets made to see how Obama's camp controls the press...
Beathovenqueen, WOW. I just watched that video you posted. The Obama campaign sent out an email to all of the press with Keith Olbermann's special comment!? I mean, it's one thing if MSNBC wants to allow Keith to go on a rant where he throws the kitchen sink at Hillary and then drops a house on her, saying she's no longer forgiven... but it's a whole other thing for Obama's campaign to send that comment out as if it speaks for them!! That is the lowest of lows. Axelrod is being shady.
MSNBC is trying to defend it's own ridiculous, sexist rant (Olbermann) and works in tandem with Axelrod. They both are nothing more than a pack of coyotes. Axelrod is playing innocent here after he set the dogs on Hillary big time. The Obama camp is starting to feel some blowback from people who are outraged @ their negative spin & media control, so Axelrod is trying to come across even keeled and balanced. His control over the press, yotube, etc. is CREEPY & THAT is why I will not vote Obama!
Nobody on here cares who you vote for, the reality is that your witch is dead and there is nothing you can do about it. The witch is now hoping for the killing of obama as her only hope. Unfortunatly for her the forces of evil that killing kennedy and king will not prevail and she will return to the backwoods of arkansas were she belongs.
if you told the truth about your age, that says it all. It's usually those in their 20's who are buying all hope 'n change bull and revved negative hype. google axelrod and find plenty of sickening articles on how he manipulates public opinion. How he's been following Obama everywhere with a camerateam 4 years prior to this "election" (ad campaign) watch: watch?v=ZydhWoEHCdM
Anti-obama propoganda has not been very effective lately, look at what they tried to do with wright. They played that over and over and over for weeks and he is still winning so you think your little video is going to have an impact? The fact is that there are laws and principles in this world... hope is life, fear is death. Even if obama is only "hyping" up hope it can only have a positive outcome. The world is not going to stop because a few cowards want to live by fear.
You can't say anti-Obama propaganda has not been effective. What we've seen so far doesn't work with half of the Democratic party because they don't care about that stuff, the other half voted for Hillary. The proof will be in November, when the rest of the country votes. The Democratic primary is not a picture of the reality we'll see in the general election. Not even as many people vote in primaries as they do in general elections. I wouldn't feel too confident. There's a whole other side.
Ashwento, I read realclearpolitics everday. The last three polls taken show McCain beating Obama, by the way. Yes, I see that in May Obama started doing better, but one thing a national poll doesn't show is the electoral map. If Obama was hurt with certain voters, in certain regions, that makes him lose entire states. There are electoral maps done daily that show McCain beating Obama in May. I just saw one where they are even. Doesn't sound so great to me.
Haha...Come on rosebud! first you say the democratic results dont matter, now you say national polls dont matter. Sounds like you are going out of your way to deny the obvious... the propoganda has been relatively ineffective, especially when compared to other propoganda campaigns that have destroyed other candidates. And what source is giving you your maps? Ive seen enough "electoral maps" to know that they are not as accuarte as you seem to believe.
Ashwento, I'm not saying national electoral maps based on state by state polls at this stage are all that accurate, but that's all we have right now. You're the one in denial, I'm trying to make the point that we DON'T really know yet, because we are in a Democratic primary. I'm saying the real test is what the voters in the general election think. We do not know, yet, if the voters in the general election have been swayed negatively by anti-Obama propaganda. You're saying Obama's safe.
Of course nothing is absolute, thats not the point. I think the all evidence points to the fact that Obama was actually helped by these things coming up during the primary. As voters continued to vote for him he is able to move past it, where as if it came up after he had the nomination he would have had a tougher time. My point was that it has so far been innefective.
"Even if obama is only "hyping" up hope it can only have a positive outcome."
cathanimator is right about age and thinking...you're lappin it up. How can "hype" result in a positive outcome (think about that)? Hype = no substance = no action = poor outcome.
the best thing would be to elect a candidate who CAN DO THE JOB and need not rely on telling people what they want to hear.
You just dont get it... if someone is badly injured and close to death you would say "dont give up", "its going to be ok". Even though there is a 95% they will die and you are completetly "hyping" the situation it can only have a positve effect of motivating that person to keep going. The same rule applies on the larger scale, hope for a better future cannot be "hyped" enough. Perception becomes reality.
I disagree. If I am dying I want to know the truth so I act the way I think is important based on that probability. What you describe is deceptive and does not accept a reality which is a part of life.
"hope cannot be hyped enough!" Scary & not smart idea. That is a hope that cannot last. As the pretty words wisp off the patient dies anyway. Is that the outcome you want?
Or do you want REAL solutions? if yes, don't turn to an Axelrod client! They sell, they don't deliver!
so if you have a 5% chance of surviving you want people to tell you to just give up and die? Hope like charity, kindness and other virtues work independent of the messenger. The first step in solving big problems is to believe that you can do it. A leader that cannot mtivate and inspre people is not going to be very effective at implementing any solutions.
oh, and from all the photos I've seen of Hillary with the young, the old and everything inbetween of every creed and color, SHE is the one who is inspiring! I know her beijing speech sure inspired me!
watch: Hillary Clinton in Beijing, China - September 5, 1995
If you look at who is voting for clinton you will find that its mainly folks who are stuggling (i.e. poor uneducated whites, retirees, etc) and erroneously think that if clinton gets in things will go back to 90's with 93 cent gas. Thats not inspiration, thats sentimentalism. She is one of the most divisive politicians in America, you cant deny that.
Yes, people who are struggling might like her because she's actually believable. But I have several degrees as do many of my friends. And many many others who are not buying Axelrod products this year. Those are not the "poor uneducated or retirees". Those are the people that scour the net for real information, not a media sell.
Yes of course everyone has voters of all kinds of backgrounds but ON AVERAGE she does better well with the poor and retirees.... basically they are scared, fearful, cowardly... they have no savings, no security so you go with what you think worked for you in the past... obama does better with young people and college edcated because they are "more likely" to have something called "hope" and optimism instead of fear and anxiety. Thats what this is all about, hope/optimism vs fear/anxiety.
Well stated Ashwento. Hillary has been running based on the politics of fear and resentment whereas Obama has been running based on the politics of change and hope. Hillary has brought out the worst of emotions through her negative "politics of identity" campaign. As a nation we have been through too much of that over the past 8 years. It's time to rise above the old politics of the Bush-Clinton era.
Ashwento, that's how Obama has this elitist label and "out of touch" label. There's a big difference between being practical, down to earth, unromantic, non-idealistic, and somewhat cynical, compared to being afraid and full of anxiety. You really don't need to go to such an extreme to describe these people, it's offensive. I could go around and say Obama's voters are the scared, fearful, anxiety ridden people who are terrified of the war, but that's not a fair assessment. Fear goes both ways.
rosebud- that comparison is nonsense, opposing an injust war is not fear but courage. You should watch the MLK speech on why he opposed the vietnam war. You just cant bring yourself to admit that the poor, elderly... naturally tend to be more fearful than young, educated. Look at the civil rights, it was the poor/old whites in the south that were rabid segregationists... meanwhile young middleclass college kids were comingdown from the north to be part of freedom rides.
Rosebud, the only problem with the "regret" statement is that she said "If my comments offended anyone." What does that even mean? I thought for something to be an apology it had to be definitive, not just some blanket statement. Also, she didn't mention Obama in her "Regret Statement" at all. There was something sorely missing there, and its just not intellectually honest to think otherwise.
is that your wish mikhalesmith? no self-respecting person would write such crap...unless they have nothing worth reading!
anyway......she's been saying these kind of comments since March........I think she and her campaign have been wishing for something catastrophic 2 happen to Obama.....as a reason for why she's still in this losing battle.
Rosebud: A lesson in Leadership. Leaders are taught to be fair and impartial. They must not favor one cause that may jeopardize another. Leaders must lead from the front and by example therefore inspiring others to pick up the banner of greatness instead of tragedy. It is not Obama's or Clinton's or any other Presidents job to help the black community. What Obama has done to this point should be inspiration enough to cause a movement. Martin died so we could live, why aren't we living.
Obama assassinated? So what! Obama's own wife mentioned in an interview 3 months ago regarding secret service security and Obama's safety and claiming that Obama is a black man that can get killed while pumping gas! MSNBC doing their typical spin to entertain and fuel the retarded far-left loons! Hillary used words poorly, but at least no one associated with Hillary claimed that America gave blacks AIDS or say GOD DAMN AMERICA!
The Clintons have a penchant for claiming that they are victims of problems of their own making. At first blush it is not at all clear what Hillary Clinton was trying to say when she said that she should stay in the election because Robert F. Kennedy was assassinated in June. Her efforts to clean up her statement make sense, but it is noticeable that, in typical baby boomer fashion, Hillary Clinton expects the public to be more lenient with her awkward phrasings than she has been with others.
classic14rider, I think it's very evident that she is taking responsibility for her gaffe/blunder/crass remarks (whatever you want to call them), because she immediately spoke to the press and said she regretted offending anyone and it wasn't her intentions. Then today, she wrote an op-ed for the NY Daily News clarifying her remarks and why she is staying in the race and that she is disturbed and dismayed. There's nothing in her statement that is blaming anyone or playing the victim.
Rose there is no such Racial catagory as "Biracial"it doesn't exist. And why in the hell is Hillary "disturmed and dismayed" that people think its foul for her to be waiting around for someone to KILL her opponent? She can't see how damn wrong that is?"I won't get out of the Race because I'm hoping someone KILLS my opponent?" You can't see how WRONG that is?
Rose Obama has 11 years of elected office experience to Hillary's eight.Obama has more Management Experience and has raised more money and managed it better then Hillary(her broke azz).Obama got better grades, actually practiced law and is a College Professor as well as was the editor of the Harvard Law Review. He also has more experience in ending White Racism and Supremacy.
Realbrother, I think Hillary would have more power to help the African American community and to further civil rights, equality and take on issues of racism more than Obama will be able to. If Obama is elected, he will have to think about being re-elected every single day. If he even appears to be favoring black causes over other causes, he will run the risk of not being re-elected. If Hillary champions black causes, she will be applauded. Bill and Hillary HAVE done more for black than Obama.
Here's a thought "ROSEBUD789", what if Obama just treated everyone the same, regardless of the color of their skin! I like the way you think that you've got Obama 'all figured out', good for you!!!!!!
Realbrother, Hillary says she is disturbed and dismayed that people think or believe she wants Obama to be assassinated, because she says it goes against everything she is and everything she is about. Now, you can disagree and you can believe whatever you want, obviously, but she is not saying what you are saying. Take it up with her, not me.
Also, she sits on the 'Armed Services Committee', so if she had a resume, 7 years as a U.S. Senator and serving on the Armed Services Committee trumps Obama's resume of 8 years in the state legislature of Illinois and 3 years in the U.S. Senate.
Rose Hillary's record of supporting the war is one of the reasons her DUMB azz shouldn't be President. And again, she is in the Race hoping Obama will be assassinated and its wrong and you know it.If that's NOT what she's about then drop out of the Race and accept an appointment as Ambassador to Syberia(don't let the door hit cha' in the azz on the way out).
I disagree with your views. And I do not hold her vote to authorize the war against her, nor do I hold it against Senators John Edwards, Chris Dodd, Joe Biden, Tom Daschle, John Kerry, and Jay Rockefeller, who all have endorsed Obama.
Edwards and Dodd have apologised for their votes, rose. You might wanna tell Hillary to apologise for hers, that will be a start.
Even that is too hard for her. She doesn't even have the Grace to admit an error, plus she lies too much, it's troubling. All politicians lie though, except the magnitude of her lies are a bit overboard. Why would she talk of snipers. There is no strategic advantages in such lies.
I simply can't vote for her. little LEGISLATIVE experience as well just like obama
jopaddy81, this famous apology that Hillary has not given puzzles me, since it's not something I need from her. She said, in the beginning, if she knew then what she knows now, she wouldn't have voted that way. That was honest, instead of giving you a bullshit answer. Then, in that one debate, she said she would take her vote back if she could. For some reason that I do not understand, people need her to say, "I'm sorry. I made a mistake". Not everyone needs to hear that.
jopaddy, as far as the Bonsia lie and others, I find that troubling, as well. But then I hear some of Obama's lies, or McCain's lies, and they really are no better and are of no less of a degree of importance. Hillary's lie just was caught on a greater scale, and Obama's and McCain's have not become huge news in the mainstream media yet. If you don't vote for her, that's fine by me, I'm just giving my views.
what lies has Obama been caught in? Nothing yet. Nothing proven, unlike Hillary's lies, and whenever she's caught she never apologizes or gives a decent apology. That is why Barack is given more slack. Her gall is mindboggling, and the fact that she has people who pretend that isn't true really makes America look bad. Well, I guess nothing is worse than voting Bush in TWICE!!
if Obama is so peace loving why did he support the decimation of Lebanon? Why was he NOT PRESENT at the vote about the Iranian guard? (he could have been there to take a stand, but, like so often, did not).
Rosebud789: The Clintons are blaming others for Hillary's latest gaffe. Bill Clinton did not say the responsibility for the gaffe rested with Hillary, rather, he lashed out, once again at the press and the Obama campaign. This has been the pattern. The Clintons make outrageous statements, they don't apologize to those directly impacted by their statements (such as the Obama family) and they play the role of "victim" by blaming others for the problems they have brought upon themselves.
classic14rider, Hillary immediately said she "regrets" that her comments "offended anyone". For me, that is an apology. I understand that some people need to actually hear the word "apolgize". To me, that is nit-picking. Her statement on Friday was taking responsibility for what she said. Then she wrote an op-ed on this topic. She made it clear she understands how people took her remarks and clarified them. In my view, Bill is talking about how over the top the media is being.
Rosebud, Senator Clinton NEVER apologized to the Obama family for her comments, although she specifically named the Kennedys (because two of RFK's children are supporting her, while Ethel and Doug Kennedy support Obama). This isn't "nit-picking," it reflects the lack of character on Hillary Clinton's part.
she did not have to apoligize..she did not say anything ill towards anyone to warrant an apology. She said she is sorry if it offended some (those are people spinning it) RFK son did not see it this way why should u or others
elenora, the offense was not directed toward the Kennedy's but toward Obama. It shows a lack of character and a lack of class for the Clintons to constantly blame others for their own gaffes and misbehavior. And it really shows a lack of character and of class for them to refuse to apologize.
classic: not once was Obama's name mentioned. Kennedy's name was so she thought if anyone would be offended it would be Kennedy familey, hoever RFK son said he knew exactly what she meant. How is she blaming anyone for that statement?? Axlerod and Obama do not want an apology nor do they ask for one. Only ppl wanting an apology are those like you that just keep repeating yourself over and over beating a dead horse. This issure is over get on with sustance policies.
elenora8, the issue is not over because it reflects poorly on Hillary Clinton's character. Clinton made a comment, in response to the question of why she is staying in this race when her chances of winning it are slim to nothing, and she referenced the assassination of RFK. What does the assassination of RFK have to do with a "time line"? At best, this comment was in poor taste. Politicians with dignity and class would have issued a real apology. Hillary refuses to do this.
elenora, at some point, isn't it beating a dog to death? At some point, isn't it more about taking pleasure in raking someone over the coals? I think so. *sigh* And these same people hate Sean Hannity for doing this same thing to Obama. It's hyocrisy.
Absolutely..they have nothing else to talk about so they stay on this issue..there were many comments here I wanted to respond to but did not want to spend anymore time..One good thing some of these people piss me off so much I have to take a break and go to Hillary's web page and make another contribution then I am cooled down :))
I agree with you elenora. Go Hillary. Go as quickly as possible so that we can focus on winning the election in November without all of the distractions that she and her husband have generated during this primary campaign season. Go, indeed. Quickly.
Classic thank you so much!!!!and you are right maybe Michelle and her husband will stop distracting us so we can focus on winning the election....Go Hillary
Rosebud, the simple way to lay the issue to rest would be for Hillary to acknowledge her mistake, apologize, and to begin to run a more positive campaign that is focused on the issues rather than resorting a series of inflammatory comments. I mean, Hillary wouldn't let go of the "bitterness" comment or of the Rev. Wright issue for crying out loud. She should admit her mistake so we can all move on.
classic14rider, come on, you know Obama supporters just love hating on her at this point, it's too late, there's nothing she could say to make it better. Hating on Hillary and Bill has become a sport. I started out being a John Edwards supporter and Obama was my third choice, but there's just too much water under the bridge, people have been far too nasty to mend fences. You all enjoy the fun while it lasts, the media and country will turn on Obama one day, as well.
Rosebud, the media turned on Obama from day one, only the Hillary camp, to try to gain sympathy, has claimed that Obama was being treated with kid gloves. No other candidate suffered the indignity of being accused of being an "Islamic plant" and an allie of terrorism the way Obama has been, simply because of his ethnicity (i.e. "race"). I once considered voting for Clinton, but when I saw the way she and Bill fueled the flames of the worst in this campaign I turned away in disgust.
classi14rider, if you lived outside of your rose colored glasses you might see things differntly. I agree that Obama has had his hard knocks in the media, especially by FOX. I've never disputed that. But, MSNBC has definitely shown a bias that I've only ever seen on FOX news with Bush. The media has fanned the flames of Bill and Hillary, twisting everything more cynically, and have hidden what Obama's campaign has been doing behind the scenes. You have to dig to find the truth. It's out there.
Come on Rosebud, you can't be serious. Fox News has been fawning all over Hillary because they want the Democratic Party to be divided so that McCain can win in November. And she has played right along with that too. And Hillary has also gotten into bed with Richard Scaife Mellon and his news publications, and has benefited royally in press coverage from the "vast right wing conspiracy" as a result of it. Face it; she has gone over to the other side in hopes that it will save her. They love her.
classic14rider, they have Dick Morris on pretty much every night who can't even talk about the topic at hand without tearing into Bill and Hillary, I've never heard anyone so viscious and hateful. FOX got nicer towards Hillary when it appeared she would lose. Before that, no way, they were not nice to her. They've never loved her, that's just silly. You seem like you live in a bubble. I watch and read all points of view, all blogs, all papers, and you parrot left liberal talking points.
Rosebud, the comments about "rose colored glasses" and "living in a bubble" are not helpful. They remind me of the pattern of the Clinton campaign, which is to attack the messenger rather than to discuss the merits of ideas. Look, I agree with you on Dick Morris and where Fox stood when Hillary was front-runner. The point is that Hillary has made peace with the right wing. She uses them now and allows herself to be used. Sadly, she uses similar tactics in campaign ads like the 3 AM phone call.
classic14rider, okay, fair enough. I apologize. I also think one reason the Democratic party is split is because, fundamentally, we have different views/beliefs/visions. I have no problem with ads like the "3 am ad". If Obama put that ad out, it would not have bothered me. I don't see it as a scare tactic, I see it as getting people to think about what the job entails, which includes dealing with serious, unexpected crisis' that can't be forseen, like hurricanes and foreign attacks.
Rosebud, I think the ad would have been more effective (and would have more closely reflected the values of the Democratic Party) if it focused on preparedness for a domestic crisis such as a hurricane, as you suggest. After Katrina and our collapsing infrastructure nationally, the Republicans are vulnerable on this. But Democrats should not feed the Republican "foreign menace" narrative in my opinion. It only encourages and builds consensus for knee-jerk foreign policy based on fear.
classi14rider, well, I think this perfectly illustrates why Hillary gets moderate Democrats with conservative values, or Reagan Democrats, because we see your views and Obama's as too far left liberal for comfort. We see Obama as too think skinned and too weak on foreign policy, and I guarantee you, if Hillary voters see him that way, the Republicans will even more. I don't know how he gets enough votes if half of Hillary's voters are defecting over to McCain. Obama scares the crap out of us.
Actually the divide is a little more complicated. Hillary wins "Reagan Democrats" (blue collar voters with less then four years of college)by a wider margin against McCain than Obama does, but Obama wins upscale college educated swing voters which Hillary loses to McCain. Moreover, check out the non-partisan "Real Clear Politics" site. Obama leads McCain nationally by +1.8 and closes the gap in states like Virgina while outright winning in Wisconsin where Hillary would lose.
Rosebud, Hillary wins "Reagan Democrats" (blue collar voters with less then four years of college) but Obama remains competitive for their votes against McCain. He would carry Pennsylvania against McCain by +5.8 and Ohio within the statistical margin of error by +1.3 The problem for Hillary in a national election is that her negatives are too high among upscale and college educated voters. That's why she cannot win a national election; they will be the swing voters who matter.
classic14rider, it's pretty amazing you'd say she can't win a general election when there's lots of data saying she can. There's lots of data saying Obama's negatives have gone way up (Rasmussen for one). There's lots of data showing Obama does worse in general election electoral maps against McCain than Hillary. BUT, all that is irrelevant to me because polls this early in the race don't reflect what will happen in November, so I feel you're just arguing for the sake of arguing, at this point.
I've cited my sources (which are pretty standard across the board) that show Obama has lower negatives than Hillary's and that he leads McCain by a wider margin nationally than does Hillary. Hillary's negatives are deeply ingrained and probably insurmountable. At any rate, we look forward to working with all of you Hillary supporters to secure the defeat of John McCain in November.
classi14rider, this is where I disagree. I think different people have different views and expectations on apologies. I think what she said was an appropriate apology, but you don't. That doesn't make either of us necessarily right or wrong, but I think you may want to realize not everyone expects the kind of apology that you do. She wasn't talking about Obama at all, he had nothing to do with "historically, campaigns go into June, like Bill's and Bobby's". IMO, Obama doesn't need one.
Before RFK's assassination, he was not winning: Hubert Humphrey: 561, Robert Kennedy: 393, Eugene McCarthy: 258.
Kennedy's assassination[...]didn't create a new front-runner.[...]Besides, Kennedy was down to Humphrey who was racking up delegates in non-primary states and believed to be in the lead (sound familiar?), so if a comparison had to be made between 1968 & 2008, a Kennedy-Clinton camparison makes a lot more sense, and I doubt Hillary was referring to herself getting shot.
I don't know. Hillary's meaning is obscure here. There is more than one way to read the '68 election. One way to read it is that the momentum was with Robert Kennedy (even though he was not leading with delegates) having won every state he entered and contested except for Oregon. But suddenly everything was changed with his assassination. Clinton's argument all along has been that things in this election can suddenly change, as she implied with the Wright controversy. Her recent comment fits...
classi14rider, I like that you can have a logical, rational conversation that isn't seething with hate and extreme bias. Thanks, I appreciate that. :) I would imagine she does have it on her mind that anything can happen. Look at Eliot Spitzer, that came out of the blue. Personally, I think she really believes she would make a better president and that Obama's not seasoned enough, and she's hoping, with time, people will wake up and see what she sees. I think she sees time as her friend.
classic, also, Bill didn't bring up the RFK comment, he addressed how people are telling her to get out of the race and how disrespectful they're being. How is that not taking responsibility for her RFK comment? Sounds like you hate Hillary and Bill, and even after Hillary immediately comes out with a "regret" statement, and writes an op-ed in the New York Daily News, you now go after Bill because he's defending his wife's legitimate reasons for staying in the race and calling haters out.
Rosebud, Bill and Hillary do not seem to assume responsibility for their words or their actions. Both Bill Clinton and Terry McAuliffe blamed the Obama campaign for Clinton's gaffe. This is not unlike Bill Clinton blaming the Obama campaign for Bill's own gaffe in South Carolina (or blaming the media for Monica Lewinsky).
Rosebud, there is a problem when supporters of Hillary Clinton say that people "hate" her when they point out the facts. The fact is that Bill Clinton specifically addressed the RFK comment when he said that it makes his "blood boil" when people try to hold her accountable for what she said. Love for Hillary does not give her supporters the right to invent their own facts. And the Clintons seem to lack sufficient character to assume responsibility for what they say and do.
classic14rider, I'm sorry, I had only seen a video of Bill talking about how no one in the past has been asked to drop out being this close, and she has been disrespected. I didn't hear the comment you mentioned. Sorry about that. I do find it disgusting that Obama's campaign distributed Keith Olbermann's special comment about Hillary after Hillary said she regretted if there was any offense taken. I mean, David Axelrod says they've moved on, but reports say they continue to distribute it.
classic14rider, also, it is impossible for me to not assume people harbor hatred when I read the comments from Obama supporters and surrogates. It's one thing to address facts and have an opinion about them, but the vitriol behind the words is breathtaking, to me (Telling her she should have stayed in the tub, like Glenn Close). That, I think, is what Bill is talking about. It's really ugly how SOME (not all) people treat her.
Rosebud, you can't be thin-skinned about criticism of Hillary. Afterall, Hillary supporters have accused Obama of being a "racist," and Muslim, "shucking and Jiving," a "drug dealer," and part of a covert sleeper cell of terrorists. I mean really; Hillary has been treated with kid gloves in comparison to the garbage that has been thrown at Obama.
classic14rider, I see that. I think they've both had it rough, that's just a part of the game. I do hold the media accountable for failing Americans this election season. I think they've done a horrendous job in regards to all candidates. The media is where most of my frustration and anger goes to. I remember when John Edwards couldn't even get a mention on TV. And McCain's been treated like china.
All one really has to do in deciding on a candidate is look at who he/she surrounds herself with. When I compare Axelrod to the likes of HRC's staff such as the duplicitous & cynical Penn, the loathsome Wolfson, the rabid Carville & the pinpoint-pupilled McAuliffe, the choice becomes very clear. HRC's been around those jokers for too long & she's starting to get a little scary-looking, as well. Instead of sitting up at 3 AM waiting for the phone to ring, she needs to get a little decent sleep.
verified, have you not researched Axelrod's background? I just read something today that, among other things I've read, sure doesn't make him out to be better than anyone Hillary associates with. Axelrod's got a bit of shady in his past, check it out.
That's so nice of David Axelrod to say this generous statement after Obama's campaign released it's official negative comment which gave the media the go ahead to run full speed with the story and hype it to the max. I read an article today on how stories in the media and press get huge (on Politico), and it makes the press/media look like hyenias on a slab of dead carcass. It's disgusting. Journalism hs no diginity left, it's all about what drama will incite the most attention (riots).
Like the t.v. show extreme home make overs , thats what obama wants to do. Except to the ... whole country. obama's extreme country make over recipe ingredents are - liberalism socialism marxism communism. Mix them all togather and you get a American NIGHTMARE.
Oh yeah about the higher taxes. Republicans are the biggest spenders to ever walk on the face of the earth. You may not believe it but you are going to have to pay for it eventually. If you want your children to pick up the tab for your hedonism than man up and admit it. Handing out "free" puppies and ice-cream while reducing taxes to zero doesn't make you a good president. It makes you a godawfull president.
point well made. recent republican economic policy is just as bad as democrats permanent economic policy.good one?moreover, hedonism is a psychological philosophy which states that individuals make choices based on hedonistic calculation of please vs. pain and has no place in an economic policy discussion. choose your words more carefully.
Hedonistic = loan for instant gratification with no necessity in the least. You don't have to take it literally you can understand it perfectly well. Also Republicans have a bad economic history PERIOD. No ifs or buts. Plainly horrible.
Man the fucking Clintonista's are really doing the best they can to fan the flames huh? Tell me what's in it for them to have the Republicans win the election in a year (or decade) when the dems ABSOLUTELY MUST WIN. If you can squander this political capital then something is truly fucked up. Anyway you moronic Clinton supporters please look at the consequences of what you're doing and more precisely what 3 decades of conservatism has done to the USA. It needs to stop now no time for semantics.
Yes cizar because of that. Especially the punish Christians part you guys are such a bunch of helpless victims *rolleyes*.
Tell me is the stupidity a cultural thing or are American conservatives just naturally dimwitted?
To answer your question the Dems must win because Republicans are worse than Satan but also because they have everything going for them. To lose now would be pathetic. That last part was kind of what I was going for the rest goes without saying.
i'm not a christian but it doesnt take a christian or a historical scholar to recognize that christians are the principle influence in the creation of a country that has brought the most good to the greatest amount of people in human history.the rest of your comment is a meaningless rant.you didnt address the higher taxes or loosing wars philosophy of your party."worse than satan"? how old are you 11?respond with intelligent specific criticism or i will discontinue this conversation.impress me
1) Christians are not victims in the USA or Europe please stop acting like they are a bunch of victims they have precedence.
2) Last I checked the republicans mismanaged the wars in Afghanistan and Iraq it were Dems who won in Bosnia, Korea was a Dem war and so was World War 2. Really I only made my Republicans is Satan argument because I wanted to see if I could possibly set the bar any lower than accusing the opposition of having a "losing war philosophy". You lost the war now GTFO.
I also made my Republicans = Satan argument because I don't believe in Satan which would make it factually true and because there is NO possible way that Republicans could have done a better job at screwing up the world and their country in particular over the last 3 decades. Have you seen any recent stats? You guys are in the worst shape you've ever been. They are to blame. They are as bad as a political party could practically be.
youre ranting about satan, republicans screwing and bad party is invalid. you were onto something with recent stats but you didnt give me anything. try just a little harder you tube masses. i'll give you a chance
Here are some stats: USA is 14 in GDP per capita, lowest ranking in it's history as far as I'm aware, 700 million people live longer than Americans (if you count EU as a single entity) and 400 million are wealthier (if you count Eurozone as a single entity). Health care is a joke, education is a joke and both these have steadily decreased over the last 3 decades. Republicans have shot up the debt into the stratosphere and they have also increased poverty median income hasn't increased in 8 years
Health care is US costs almost twice what all other developed countries pay for their UHC which covers 100% instead of 85%. Again conservative ideologues stemming progress for political reasons. The USA has income distribution that mimics Brazil (if you don't care about the poor than maybe you care about the middle class) oh yeah did I mention the fact that the USA is more hated today than it has ever been? It's not a fad either. Oil has gone up 550% the dollar down what 50%? etc etc
1-why shouldnt they have precedence?they died defending this country and its judeo-christian values.unit,core,god,country.2-what part about the most successful 2 wars in american history with the least amount of causualties do you oppose?how we destroyed enemy forces in days or how we implanted functioning democratic governments in the heart of the middle east?the problem is you watch tv & 5/6 news outlets are liberal propaganda machines.cbs, abc, nbc, cnn, cspan vs. fox & the country is still 50/50
You could tell Hillary hasn't had some dick:---- in a long time. Scientific studies have showed that when such occurs, "occasionally some women hallucinate on an imaginary victory and assassination, have no ethical standards, cling to supporters whom are racially bias, and play the gender card".
I don't think that Hillary Clinton was trying claim that Barack Obama will be assassinated. I think it was just bad choice of words and maybe she should think before speaking.
Obama assassinated? So what! Obama's own wife mentioned in an interview 3 months ago regarding secret service security and Obama's safety and claiming that Obama is a black man that can get killed while pumping gas! MSNBC doing their typical spin to entertain the retarded far-left loons! But no doubt, Hillary used words poorly, but at least she didn't claim America gave blacks AIDS or say GOD DAMN AMERICA! This ridiculous story uses the same double standards all over again. Move on idiots!
Bullshit. Chris knows what dat bytch meant. and America knows what dat bytch meant. DON'T DENY THE OBVIOUS. THAT MAKES YOU LOOK STUPID. Think about it. Even if she was nominated because of an assassination, the bitch truly lost. She is still not a winner. Obama needs to call on the Lord, watch his back, bump up his security and carry fire himself. I hope Billary and the crew has not put a hitman out on him.
As expected the Obama campaign will take the high road by not calling out Hillary's appalling comment. Hillary's desperation and refusal to accept the inevitable is making her stoop really low, even for her.
As for Bill Clinton, despite his wife's perceptions, he'd won the nomination long before mid-June 1992. The race was essentially over by March 20, when Paul Tsongas dropped out and Clinton became the front-runner with a 7-to-1 delegate lead over Jerry Brown.
It was also just plain inaccurate, say historians, noting that Clinton's drawn-out battle with Obama in a seemingly endless primary season is nothing like the 1968 and 1992 Democratic campaigns.
Bobby Kennedy was not in the midst of a long-fought primary battle when he was assassinated. He entered the race on March 16, 1968, less than three months before the June 5 shooting.
She was trying to make a correlation between California and the month of June with big politically changing historical events that happened to occur within that reference. Albeit a bit morbid referencing the asassination, but not to be taken as anything more sinister than simply the first thing that came to her mind. She's female...hence the reason for people trying to push her out since Iowa.
I like how Axelrod reinforces the idea that the comment implied obama might be assassinated, while simultaneously dismissing it....did anyone notice that? he repeats the full question back, and says several times in a row that it's not what he thinks happened.....but he knows how americans brains work....so he's reinforcing that talking point by mentioning it repeatedly...
I'm voting for Obama too...I think all campaign strategists do this...it's interesting
You are an illiterate loser. Maybe you should forego golf and learn the English language. It's clear you love your race more than anything. DumbassBrother, we need people like you to take care of our houses and buy our groceries. Don't be stupid dumbassbrother because there are more Mexicans than blacks that are willing to do the job.
You are a disgrace to this country. I'm so sick of you fucking rednecks making us look bad. I'm a white male whose ancestors were among the first settlers-and I hate dumb redneck idiots like you-you don't represent what America is-you represent what it WAS-and your redneck culture is dying out because you weren't intelligent enough to survive. You weren't as charismatic as the africans, weren't as resilient as the hispanics, & weren't as intelligent as the asians and liberal whites.
Then if we are to agree by your young idealistic misguided philosophy: africans will die out because they aren't as intelligent as whites (being charismatic only goes so far) and because they aren't as hardworking and resiliant as hispanics, who will also die out to the whites and asians who are more intelligent than hispanics, thus the only people left will be whites and asians...and evidently arabs and other races just don't exist at all in your little world you sniveling left wing pansy.
Zndprophet: Stereotype much? What about arabs? native american? other? Newsflash: there are bigots in every race but do educate yourself first on the world's varying races because someone might thing you aren't very intelligent...survival of the fittest u know.
It is obvious that you will vote for Obama even though he is half white. Is Obama a real brother? Is he black or Hawaiian? Seems to me you are going to vote for him because he is part black and part white. Which part of him will you vote for?
SICK. Disgusting. And yet revealing. Hillary Clinton is staying in the race in the event some nut kills Barack Obama. It could happen, but what definitely has happened is that Clinton has killed her own chances of being vice president. She doesn't deserve to be elected dog catcher anywhere now. Her shocking comment to a South Dakota newspaper might qualify as the dumbest thing ever said in American politics.
Reuters: Obama empathizes with Clinton over Kennedy comment
"I have learned that when you are campaigning for as many months as Senator Clinton and I have been campaigning, sometimes you get careless in terms of the statements that you make and I think that is what happened here," Obama said.
Rosebud you gave up?Good because your argument was weak.I have an early tee-time tommorrow so I'm a turn in too but I want all to remember that White Racists and White Supremacists have had their chance eversince Ronald Reagan and Blacks have stood by and watched these Idiots mess up,its time to give a Brother a chance and we as a Race are NOT inferior.Obama will put the interests of the Country FIRST and that's what we need.
Go Lakers, Go Obama,Go Dana Kirkpatrick(the White girl racer)
john, I've raised two children and have worked in preschools, and you remind me of a 4 year old. I would bring you to one of my schools and point out how similar their behavior is to yours, but I can't. You behave like a child who thrives on attention but only knows how to get it by being antagonistic. For some people, bad attention is better than no attention. I'm not enjoying myself anymore, so I'm done chatting with you. Have a nice holiday weekend. :)
Rosebud shame on you,you work with young children and you're a White Supremacist? This is so wrong.I shudder to think at what you are teaching those impressionable young minds.Let's hope there are no Black children there for you to teach that they are inferior.
Again, the point of this debate is for Racists and White Supremacists to convince everyone that Barack Obama is unfit to be President because he's Black and our job as Great Americans is to expose how DUMB that his.
So stating white racism and white supremest exist.....scared educated White Americans from Obama? kinda like saying black supremest scares black America from Obama.
Some of you need to get a reality check....Obama is bi-racial....ie he's 1/2 of both races and does not define himself by the socially manufactured crap our history has been build on from Slavery to Jim Crow.
Hippie that's not true. There is no such Racial catagory as "biracial".There are but three Races(Mongroid,Negroid and Caucasoid). The Genome Project Study found that the RACE and GENDOR of a child is determined by the SPERM of its biological father.Obama is BLACK as the SPERM that created him came from an AFRICAN who had ZERO White genes in his DNA.Trying to make White Racists and Supremacists fell better by making Obama White(mixed)is silly,he's Black and should be addressed as such.
well considering 67 people are now dead who were connected to Bill and Hillary,s past indisgretions its seems fair to me that she might think "something"could happen to Obama ...mt favorite was the guy found with three gunshot wounds to the chest ....it was called a suicide......only one of many

Ashwento 3 years ago
Ashwento: No need to insult. Yes, the German economy had bottomed out and the Jews were resented, so resentment and anger were in the mix. And ultimately the hope was for a resurgence (as you pointed out), which was to save Germany and make the Germans prosperous and powerful. I don't see how that is not selling hope and optimism, esp in the youth camps.
Maybe I should have just written that Hitler's followers were buying into empty lies...

We have to understand foremost that power is the greatest high.. Hilary has put too much into this...what she realy meant with the statement she made? tough call, a freudian slip? He was so distraught, he took his own life, and people like you go around on the internet calling the Clinton's his murderers. He's looking down on you, you should feel ashamed.

beethovenqueen 3 years ago 3
Beathovenqueen, WOW. I just watched that video you posted. The Obama campaign sent out an email to all of the press with Keith Olbermann's special comment!? I mean, it's one thing if MSNBC wants to allow Keith to go on a rant where he throws the kitchen sink at Hillary and then drops a house on her, saying she's no longer forgiven... but it's a whole other thing for Obama's campaign to send that comment out as if it speaks for them!! That is the lowest of lows. Axelrod is being shady.
R0SEBUD789 3 years ago 2

Ashwento 3 years ago
You can't say anti-Obama propaganda has not been effective. What we've seen so far doesn't work with half of the Democratic party because they don't care about that stuff, the other half voted for Hillary. The proof will be in November, when the rest of the country votes. The Democratic primary is not a picture of the reality we'll see in the general election. Not even as many people vote in primaries as they do in general elections. I wouldn't feel too confident. There's a whole other side.
R0SEBUD789 3 years ago
The propoganda reached a peak in april. Look at RCP polls for march april and may... Obama actually widens his lead over mccain!
Ashwento 3 years ago
Ashwento, I read realclearpolitics everday. The last three polls taken show McCain beating Obama, by the way. Yes, I see that in May Obama started doing better, but one thing a national poll doesn't show is the electoral map. If Obama was hurt with certain voters, in certain regions, that makes him lose entire states. There are electoral maps done daily that show McCain beating Obama in May. I just saw one where they are even. Doesn't sound so great to me.
R0SEBUD789 3 years ago
Haha...Come on rosebud! first you say the democratic results dont matter, now you say national polls dont matter. Sounds like you are going out of your way to deny the obvious... the propoganda has been relatively ineffective, especially when compared to other propoganda campaigns that have destroyed other candidates. And what source is giving you your maps? Ive seen enough "electoral maps" to know that they are not as accuarte as you seem to believe.
Ashwento 3 years ago
Ashwento, I'm not saying national electoral maps based on state by state polls at this stage are all that accurate, but that's all we have right now. You're the one in denial, I'm trying to make the point that we DON'T really know yet, because we are in a Democratic primary. I'm saying the real test is what the voters in the general election think. We do not know, yet, if the voters in the general election have been swayed negatively by anti-Obama propaganda. You're saying Obama's safe.
R0SEBUD789 3 years ago
Of course nothing is absolute, thats not the point. I think the all evidence points to the fact that Obama was actually helped by these things coming up during the primary. As voters continued to vote for him he is able to move past it, where as if it came up after he had the nomination he would have had a tougher time. My point was that it has so far been innefective.
Ashwento 3 years ago
Ashwento, I can completely agree with that.
R0SEBUD789 3 years ago
By the way, you can find electoral maps made from the state by state polls on blogs.

"Even if obama is only "hyping" up hope it can only have a positive outcome."
cathanimator is right about age and thinking...you're lappin it up. How can "hype" result in a positive outcome (think about that)? Hype = no substance = no action = poor outcome.
the best thing would be to elect a candidate who CAN DO THE JOB and need not rely on telling people what they want to hear.
beethovenqueen 3 years ago
You just dont get it... if someone is badly injured and close to death you would say "dont give up", "its going to be ok". Even though there is a 95% they will die and you are completetly "hyping" the situation it can only have a positve effect of motivating that person to keep going. The same rule applies on the larger scale, hope for a better future cannot be "hyped" enough. Perception becomes reality.
Ashwento 3 years ago
They sell, they don't deliver!
cathanimator 3 years ago
so if you have a 5% chance of surviving you want people to tell you to just give up and die? Hope like charity, kindness and other virtues work independent of the messenger. The first step in solving big problems is to believe that you can do it. A leader that cannot mtivate and inspre people is not going to be very effective at implementing any solutions.

Ashwento 3 years ago
Yes, people who are struggling might like her because she's actually believable. But I have several degrees as do many of my friends. And many many others who are not buying Axelrod products this year. Those are not the "poor uneducated or retirees". Those are the people that scour the net for real information, not a media sell.
beethovenqueen 3 years ago
Yes of course everyone has voters of all kinds of backgrounds but ON AVERAGE she does better well with the poor and retirees.... basically they are scared, fearful, cowardly... they have no savings, no security so you go with what you think worked for you in the past... obama does better with young people and college edcated because they are "more likely" to have something called "hope" and optimism instead of fear and anxiety. Thats what this is all about, hope/optimism vs fear/anxiety.
Ashwento 3 years ago
Well stated Ashwento. Hillary has been running based on the politics of fear and resentment whereas Obama has been running based on the politics of change and hope. Hillary has brought out the worst of emotions through her negative "politics of identity" campaign. As a nation we have been through too much of that over the past 8 years. It's time to rise above the old politics of the Bush-Clinton era.
classic14rider 3 years ago
Ashwento, that's how Obama has this elitist label and "out of touch" label. There's a big difference between being practical, down to earth, unromantic, non-idealistic, and somewhat cynical, compared to being afraid and full of anxiety. You really don't need to go to such an extreme to describe these people, it's offensive. I could go around and say Obama's voters are the scared, fearful, anxiety ridden people who are terrified of the war, but that's not a fair assessment. Fear goes both ways.
R0SEBUD789 3 years ago
rosebud- that comparison is nonsense, opposing an injust war is not fear but courage.

There was something sorely missing there, and its just not intellectually honest to think otherwise.

The Clintons have a penchant for claiming that they are victims of problems of their own making. At first blush it is not at all clear what Hillary Clinton was trying to say when she said that she should stay in the election because Robert F. Kennedy was assassinated in June. Her efforts to clean up her statement make sense, but it is noticeable that, in typical baby boomer fashion, Hillary Clinton expects the public to be more lenient with her awkward phrasings than she has been with others.
classic14rider 3 years ago
classic14rider, I think it's very evident that she is taking responsibility for her gaffe/blunder/crass remarks (whatever you want to call them), because she immediately spoke to the press and said she regretted offending anyone and it wasn't her intentions.

Realbrother, you have your facts wrong.
Fact: Obama served 8 years in the Illinois state senate
Fact: He is serving his first term as U.S. State Senator of Illinois. He ran for president after serving one year. He is in his 3rd year.
Fact: Hillary is serving her second term as a U.S. Senator to N.Y. and has served 7 years.
Anyone I've ever listened to in politics gives greater credit to U.S. Senate experience over state senate experience.

R0SEBUD789 3 years ago 3
Also, she sits on the 'Armed Services Committee', so if she had a resume, 7 years as a U.S. Senator and serving on the Armed Services Committee trumps Obama's resume of 8 years in the state legislature of Illinois and 3 years in the U.S. Senate.
R0SEBUD789 3 years ago
Rose Hillary's record of supporting the war is one of the reasons her DUMB azz shouldn't be President. And again, she is in the Race hoping Obama will be assassinated and its wrong and you know it.If that's NOT what she's about then drop out of the Race and accept an appointment as Ambassador to Syberia(don't let the door hit cha' in the azz on the way out).

Realbrother, I can respect that's your opinion.
I disagree with your views. And I do not hold her vote to authorize the war against her, nor do I hold it against Senators John Edwards, Chris Dodd, Joe Biden, Tom Daschle, John Kerry, and Jay Rockefeller, who all have endorsed Obama.
R0SEBUD789 3 years ago
Edwards and Dodd have apologised for their votes, rose. You might wanna tell Hillary to apologise for hers, that will be a start.
Even that is too hard for her. She doesn't even have the Grace to admit an error, plus she lies too much, it's troubling. All politicians lie though, except the magnitude of her lies are a bit overboard. Why would she talk of snipers. There is no strategic advantages in such lies.
I simply can't vote for her. little LEGISLATIVE experience as well just like obama
jopaddy81 3 years ago
jopaddy81, this famous apology that Hillary has not given puzzles me, since it's not something I need from her.
R0SEBUD789 3 years ago
jopaddy, as far as the Bonsia lie and others, I find that troubling, as well.
R0SEBUD789 3 years ago
what lies has Obama been caught in? Nothing yet. Nothing proven, unlike Hillary's lies, and whenever she's caught she never apologizes or gives a decent apology. That is why Barack is given more slack. Her gall is mindboggling, and the fact that she has people who pretend that isn't true really makes America look bad. Well, I guess nothing is worse than voting Bush in TWICE!!

Rosebud789: The Clintons are blaming others for Hillary's latest gaffe. Bill Clinton did not say the responsibility for the gaffe rested with Hillary, rather, he lashed out, once again at the press and the Obama campaign. This has been the pattern. The Clintons make outrageous statements, they don't apologize to those directly impacted by their statements (such as the Obama family) and they play the role of "victim" by blaming others for the problems they have brought upon themselves.
classic14rider 3 years ago
classic14rider, Hillary immediately said she "regrets" that her comments "offended anyone".
R0SEBUD789 3 years ago 2
Rosebud, Senator Clinton NEVER apologized to the Obama family for her comments, although she specifically named the Kennedys (because two of RFK's children are supporting her, while Ethel and Doug Kennedy support Obama). This isn't "nit-picking," it reflects the lack of character on Hillary Clinton's part.
classic14rider 3 years ago
she did not have to apoligize..she did not say anything ill towards anyone to warrant an apology. She said she is sorry if it offended some (those are people spinning it) RFK son did not see it this way why should u or others
elenora8 3 years ago
elenora, the offense was not directed toward the Kennedy's but toward Obama. It shows a lack of character and a lack of class for the Clintons to constantly blame others for their own gaffes and misbehavior. And it really shows a lack of character and of class for them to refuse to apologize.
classic14rider 3 years ago
classic: not once was Obama's name mentioned. This issure is over get on with sustance policies.
elenora8 3 years ago

R0SEBUD789 3 years ago
elenora8, the issue is not over because it reflects poorly on Hillary Clinton's character. Hillary refuses to do this.

elenora8 3 years ago
Rosebud, the simple way to lay the issue to rest would be for Hillary to acknowledge her mistake, apologize, and to begin to run a more positive campaign that is focused on the issues rather than resorting a series of inflammatory comments. I mean, Hillary wouldn't let go of the "bitterness" comment or of the Rev. Wright issue for crying out loud. She should admit her mistake so we can all move on.
classic14rider 3 years ago
classic14rider, come on, you know Obama supporters just love hating on her at this point, it's too late, there's nothing she could say to make it better.
R0SEBUD789 3 years ago
Rosebud, the media turned on Obama from day one, only the Hillary camp, to try to gain sympathy, has claimed that Obama was being treated with kid gloves. No other candidate suffered the indignity of being accused of being an "Islamic plant" and an allie of terrorism the way Obama has been, simply because of his ethnicity (i.e. "race"). I once considered voting for Clinton, but when I saw the way she and Bill fueled the flames of the worst in this campaign I turned away in disgust.
classic14rider 3 years ago
classi14rider, if you lived outside of your rose colored glasses you might see things differntly.
R0SEBUD789 3 years ago
Come on Rosebud, you can't be serious. Fox News has been fawning all over Hillary because they want the Democratic Party to be divided so that McCain can win in November. And she has played right along with that too. And Hillary has also gotten into bed with Richard Scaife Mellon and his news publications, and has benefited royally in press coverage from the "vast right wing conspiracy" as a result of it. Face it; she has gone over to the other side in hopes that it will save her. They love her.
classic14rider 3 years ago
classic14rider, they have Dick Morris on pretty much every night who can't even talk about the topic at hand without tearing into Bill and Hillary, I've never heard anyone so viscious and hateful. FOX got nicer towards Hillary when it appeared she would lose. Before that, no way, they were not nice to her. They've never loved her, that's just silly. You seem like you live in a bubble. I watch and read all points of view, all blogs, all papers, and you parrot left liberal talking points.
R0SEBUD789 3 years ago
Rosebud, the comments about "rose colored glasses" and "living in a bubble" are not helpful. They remind me of the pattern of the Clinton campaign, which is to attack the messenger rather than to discuss the merits of ideas. Look, I agree with you on Dick Morris and where Fox stood when Hillary was front-runner. The point is that Hillary has made peace with the right wing. She uses them now and allows herself to be used. Sadly, she uses similar tactics in campaign ads like the 3 AM phone call.
classic14rider 3 years ago
classic14rider, okay, fair enough.
R0SEBUD789 3 years ago
Rosebud, I think the ad would have been more effective (and would have more closely reflected the values of the Democratic Party) if it focused on preparedness for a domestic crisis such as a hurricane, as you suggest. After Katrina and our collapsing infrastructure nationally, the Republicans are vulnerable on this. But Democrats should not feed the Republican "foreign menace" narrative in my opinion. It only encourages and builds consensus for knee-jerk foreign policy based on fear.
classic14rider 3 years ago
classi14rider, well, I think this perfectly illustrates why Hillary gets moderate Democrats with conservative values, or Reagan Democrats, because we see your views and Obama's as too far left liberal for comfort. We see Obama as too think skinned and too weak on foreign policy, and I guarantee you, if Hillary voters see him that way, the Republicans will even more. I don't know how he gets enough votes if half of Hillary's voters are defecting over to McCain. Obama scares the crap out of us.
R0SEBUD789 3 years ago
Actually the divide is a little more complicated. Hillary wins "Reagan Democrats" (blue collar voters with less then four years of college)by a wider margin against McCain than Obama does, but Obama wins upscale college educated swing voters which Hillary loses to McCain. Moreover, check out the non-partisan "Real Clear Politics" site. Obama leads McCain nationally by +1.8 and closes the gap in states like Virgina while outright winning in Wisconsin where Hillary would lose.
classic14rider 3 years ago
Rosebud, Hillary wins "Reagan Democrats" (blue collar voters with less then four years of college) but Obama remains competitive for their votes against McCain. He would carry Pennsylvania against McCain by +5.8 and Ohio within the statistical margin of error by +1.3 The problem for Hillary in a national election is that her negatives are too high among upscale and college educated voters. That's why she cannot win a national election; they will be the swing voters who matter.
classic14rider 3 years ago
classic14rider, it's pretty amazing you'd say she can't win a general election when there's lots of data saying she can.
R0SEBUD789 3 years ago
I've cited my sources (which are pretty standard across the board) that show Obama has lower negatives than Hillary's and that he leads McCain by a wider margin nationally than does Hillary. Hillary's negatives are deeply ingrained and probably insurmountable. At any rate, we look forward to working with all of you Hillary supporters to secure the defeat of John McCain in November.
classic14rider 3 years ago
classi14rider, this is where I disagree.
R0SEBUD789 3 years ago
Before RFK's assassination, he was not winning: Hubert Humphrey: 561, Robert Kennedy: 393, Eugene McCarthy: 258.
Kennedy's assassination[...]didn't create a new front-runner.[...]Besides, Kennedy was down to Humphrey who was racking up delegates in non-primary states and believed to be in the lead (sound familiar?), so if a comparison had to be made between 1968 & 2008, a Kennedy-Clinton camparison makes a lot more sense, and I doubt Hillary was referring to herself getting shot.
R0SEBUD789 3 years ago
I don't know. Hillary's meaning is obscure here. There is more than one way to read the '68 election. One way to read it is that the momentum was with Robert Kennedy (even though he was not leading with delegates) having won every state he entered and contested except for Oregon. But suddenly everything was changed with his assassination. Clinton's argument all along has been that things in this election can suddenly change, as she implied with the Wright controversy. Her recent comment fits...
classic14rider 3 years ago
classi14rider, I like that you can have a logical, rational conversation that isn't seething with hate and extreme bias.
R0SEBUD789 3 years ago
classic, also, Bill didn't bring up the RFK comment, he addressed how people are telling her to get out of the race and how disrespectful they're being.
R0SEBUD789 3 years ago 2
Rosebud, Bill and Hillary do not seem to assume responsibility for their words or their actions. Both Bill Clinton and Terry McAuliffe blamed the Obama campaign for Clinton's gaffe. This is not unlike Bill Clinton blaming the Obama campaign for Bill's own gaffe in South Carolina (or blaming the media for Monica Lewinsky).
classic14rider 3 years ago
Rosebud, there is a problem when supporters of Hillary Clinton say that people "hate" her when they point out the facts. The fact is that Bill Clinton specifically addressed the RFK comment when he said that it makes his "blood boil" when people try to hold her accountable for what she said. Love for Hillary does not give her supporters the right to invent their own facts. And the Clintons seem to lack sufficient character to assume responsibility for what they say and do.
classic14rider 3 years ago
classic14rider, I'm sorry, I had only seen a video of Bill talking about how no one in the past has been asked to drop out being this close, and she has been disrespected.
R0SEBUD789 3 years ago 2
classic14rider, also, it is impossible for me to not assume people harbor hatred when I read the comments from Obama supporters and surrogates. It's one thing to address facts and have an opinion about them, but the vitriol behind the words is breathtaking, to me (Telling her she should have stayed in the tub, like Glenn Close). That, I think, is what Bill is talking about. It's really ugly how SOME (not all) people treat her.
R0SEBUD789 3 years ago 2
Rosebud, you can't be thin-skinned about criticism of Hillary. Afterall, Hillary supporters have accused Obama of being a "racist," and Muslim, "shucking and Jiving," a "drug dealer," and part of a covert sleeper cell of terrorists. I mean really; Hillary has been treated with kid gloves in comparison to the garbage that has been thrown at Obama.
classic14rider 3 years ago
classic14rider, I see that.
R0SEBUD789 3 years ago 2
All one really has to do in deciding on a candidate is look at who he/she surrounds herself with. When I compare Axelrod to the likes of HRC's staff such as the duplicitous & cynical Penn, the loathsome Wolfson, the rabid Carville & the pinpoint-pupilled McAuliffe, the choice becomes very clear. HRC's been around those jokers for too long & she's starting to get a little scary-looking, as well. Instead of sitting up at 3 AM waiting for the phone to ring, she needs to get a little decent sleep.

Oh yeah about the higher taxes. Republicans are the biggest spenders to ever walk on the face of the earth. You may not believe it but you are going to have to pay for it eventually.

Republicans have shot up the debt into the stratosphere and they have also increased poverty median income hasn't increased in 8 years
jpbalkenende 3 years ago
Health care is US costs almost twice what all other developed countries pay for their UHC which covers 100% instead of 85%. Again conservative ideologues stemming progress for political reasons. The USA has income distribution that mimics Brazil (if you don't care about the poor than maybe you care about the middle class) oh yeah did I mention the fact that the USA is more hated today than it has ever been? It's not a fad either. Oil has gone up 550% the dollar down what 50%? etc etc

He entered the race on March 16, 1968, less than three months before the June 5 shooting.

that's to Zndprophet btw.

Realbrother3,
What is your position on Obama being half white? Is that an asset or are you disappointed that he is half white?
KHW1969 3 years ago
Realbrother3,
You are an illiterate loser. Maybe you should forego golf and learn the English language. It's clear you love your race more than anything. DumbassBrother, we need people like you to take care of our houses and buy our groceries. Don't be stupid dumbassbrother because there are more Mexicans than blacks that are willing to do the job.
KHW1969 3 years ago
KHW1969,
You are a disgrace to this country. You weren't as charismatic as the africans, weren't as resilient as the hispanics, & weren't as intelligent as the asians and liberal whites.
zndprophet 3 years ago
Then if we are to agree by your young idealistic misguided philosophy: africans will die out because they aren't as intelligent as whites (being charismatic only goes so far) and because they aren't as hardworking and resiliant as hispanics, who will also die out to the whites and asians who are more intelligent than hispanics, thus the only people left will be whites and asians...and evidently arabs and other races just don't exist at all in your little world you sniveling left wing pansy.
druidess01 3 years ago
Zndprophet: Stereotype much? What about arabs? native american? other? Newsflash: there are bigots in every race but do educate yourself first on the world's varying races because someone might thing you aren't very intelligent...survival of the fittest u know.

Realbrother,
It is pretty clear you are a black boy. Will you vote for a man that is half white?
KHW1969 3 years ago
Realbrother3,
It is obvious that you will vote for Obama even though he is half white. Is Obama a real brother? Is he black or Hawaiian? Seems to me you are going to vote for him because he is part black and part white. Which part of him will you vote for?
KHW1969 3 years ago
lmao i'm voting for his brain!!!!

From The New York Daily News:
SICK.

R0SEBUD789 3 years ago
Rosebud shame on you,you work with young children and you're a White Supremacist? This is so wrong.I shudder to think at what you are teaching those impressionable young minds.Let's hope there are no Black children there for you to teach that they are inferior.

Again, the point of this debate is for Racists and White Supremacists to convince everyone that Barack Obama is unfit to be President because he's Black and our job as Great Americans is to expose how DUMB that his.

john, you're immature.
R0SEBUD789 3 years ago
Saying someone is immature is insulting. And it's definitely not a positive comment nor complimentary. And adult can admit that.
R0SEBUD789 3 years ago
john, I insulted you, and you insluted me, and then called me on my insults. I'm just saying, you're in a glass house throwing stones.
R0SEBUD789 3 years ago
So stating white racism and white supremest exist.....scared educated White Americans from Obama? kinda like saying black supremest scares black America from Obama.
Some of you need to get a reality check....Obama is bi-racial....ie he's 1/2 of both races and does not define himself by the socially manufactured crap our history has been build on from Slavery to Jim Crow.
hippieCy08 3 years ago
Hippie that's not true. There is no such Racial catagory as "biracial".There are but three Races(Mongroid,Negroid and Caucasoid). The Genome Project Study found that the RACE and GENDOR of a child is determined by the SPERM of its biological father.Obama is BLACK as the SPERM that created him came from an AFRICAN who had ZERO White genes in his DNA.Trying to make White Racists and Supremacists fell better by making Obama White(mixed)is silly,he's Black and should be addressed as such.
