  • i miss sweden

  • well at least this guy can count. still hope for magus.

  • how many KGs are those grippers? close to 160kg? (gripping power not the weight of grippers ;)

  • @LucaYune

Captains of Crush #4 is 165 kgs :)

  • He's right I got an inflammation after about 2 weeks. It sucked because I couldn't do my regular training :(

  • The way I judge whether or not I can close it is by having someone stick a credit card between the handles and I'll try to "pinch" it and hold it up. I can almost close No.3 by this metric. ><

The only one I have to work with is No.2. The metal handles are damn painful after a dozen squeezes on those, they rub your skin raw. :/

  • 2:15 It's like a cunt.. WTF.. What does he say?

  • @maan1511 "It's like I can't"

English based on the UK language, as taught in the Swedish curriculum. Very common in Swedish-English.

  • "I know it doesn't just come from playing with youself" HAHA XD Sven rocks!!!

  • title: pinch grip training for climbing 1

  • Look at you tube:

title:grip training for climbing excersise number 1

  • i bought these things and my hands are too big for them, im so close to closing them but my hand skin gets in the way

  • This guy should have played Thor not that sknny little bitch.

  • @rcrc675 thats hillarious!

  • For $20, you TOO can be a legend in the sport of grip strength! All you have to do is be a 6.5-foot, 350-pound genetic freak from Sweden that lifts, pushes, and carries heavy objects for a living!

  • @onejordangerous He's 6 foot 7, but I sure agree with the rest ;)

  • pay for a way over priced piece of metal, and get a workout? or get stronger? or just see if you can squeeze it with monkey brains...me strong monkey..me like expensive shiney metal

  • if you skip straight to 1:45 it looks they are trying to film him taking a giant dump xD

  • Could this guy literally crush every bone in an average mans hand?

  • At 00:38 I expected him to just effortlessly rip the plastic package in half.

  • Comment removed

  • @MrDiem2 Would be nothing to grab

  • dont shake his hand lol

  • It looks like they're filming his ass.

  • swedish viking ;)

  • the great 1

  • wow his forearm , omg :D

  • please someone help me out. is Strongman Grips Heavy Duty Hand Gripper as good as captain of crush hand grippers?

  • @1080famous No. CoC is the standard. I find the heavygrips not as accurate, and wider variance...

  • Its really hard to tell really how deep of set he has, but I think it is at least a parallel

  • i noticed the ironmind site and there are barely any strongman certified at 3, 3.5, or 4.

-Only magnus at 4.. maybe the other strongman don't know about this challenge. Saw a video of mark felix saying he could close it but hands were too big. I don't see how any of the top strongmen on the circuit could not get at least a 3.

  • @Ferro716 Closing a 3 is a very rare ability and requires specific strength in the closing hand movement. This strength is not essential for general strongman events. That's why you can get really big, strong men with averageish hand (grip) strength.

  • wonder if a primate such as chimp or gorilla could close a #10 or #15 if those grippers were made and if the primates were taught how to do it. I'm not trying to be silly. I just wonder stuff like this.

  • Awesome question actually: A silverback gorilla would probably rep this thing like you or I would one of the old dimestore grey handled spring jobs. A gorilla (or any primate for that matter) has a grip that ours doesn't even rate against. Have you ever gone to the zoo and seen the 500+ lbs gorillas swing thru the vines and trees?

  • @konakaine Absolutely true, but a 500 pound Gorilla probably wouldn't be able to bench as much as a 180 pound man.

  • Say what?? I haven't done this (yet) but I'm going to see if I can go into the Paul Harvey archives and find the story he did a bunch of years back. Long story short, his description in the story made you think it was a man, but in the end it was a 500+ lb male Silverback gorilla. It pressed 4,000 (four thousand) pounds off it's chest. The weight was suspended over him, he didn't go thru the "normal" bench motions. But, why would you think it couldn't??

  • @konakaine I read somewhere that while monkeys have incredible pulling strength (so they have incredible grip and would be able to do a thousand chinups easily), their pressing strength is weak. I don't have any sources right now but it's definitely worth looking into.

  • @Maddolis That's very interesting. Never heard about it, but I suppose it makes sense, as I don't see pressing strength as being very essential to the average primate's survival.

  • Magnus can close Chuck Norris's hand

  • i love that guy :D

  • The size of your hand also provides leverage, if you can wrap around the grip easier then you gain leverage, if you have smaller hands and cannot wrap around the grip you lose leverage and your weaker muscles are at work longer than someone with large hands. Common sense. If you ever have a chance ask a doctor or check a website for the instruments they use to check hand strength at various positions, you will notice your are very weak at the fingers. Grippers may be accurate but results false.

  • This is not exactly accurate, you have a very strong closed grip strength, you have that opposable thumb that really helps, hang from a pull up bar and wear a weight belt with the linked chain hanging, then add on 45's to the chain as you hang with grip already closed, you will be able to add at least double your weight before fatigue. All grippers train each muscle group used to close hand, you fatigue as you are closing, so really the gripper is not a good measure of specific muscle strength.

  • @Johnnyblazedanketch i actually noticed this myself... the grippers had quite a decent carryover to the standard barbell, but not so much with thick handles.

  • if he only used 3 fingers, he prob has like a 450lb grip

  • 1:22 haha Valtra :D Finnish pants :D

  • is there #5 ?

  • @ble85 Nope, nr 4 is the highest, and it needs a pressure of 165.5kg (365 ibs) to be closed

  • @ble85 no

  • Hahahah! "Playing with yourself"! These guys are hilarious!

  • This product looks awesome!! google "gripups blog"

  • What the purpose in a grip that even this guy struggled against? It is like to sell a fixed barbell with 1000 pounds of weight.

  • What's the purpose of a comment like this?

  • @unauthorizedentry01 I think he meant : What is the purpose of selling a gripper that only a few man can close. A few man in the world.

  • @charleseladas

To make money off of those few men?

And to get great, free advertising for the remainder of their gripper line?

If you ask any competitive strength athlete (and most of their fans) to name one gripper, they'll probably name "Captains of Crush".

  • @unauthorizedentry01

to sound retarded to just about everyone reading it

  • @criceto Oh gee, I don't know, what's the point of Mount Everest being there? Some of us LIKE to dream of, and work towards, doing very difficult things. Not everyone is in the game to get the self-esteem trophy.

  • @PurrfectPeach Difficult things are one things, impossible things are another.

I would not buy something that I cannot use just because I like to dream about.

If you still can do some reps it is another matter. In this case this monster grip could be useful for you!

  • @criceto I understand what you mean, but I think it would also be fun to have as a conversation piece. Could be a really effective way of shutting up a bragging jerk ;)

  • @criceto the purpose is for he who is strong enough to use it, and to get even stronger.

  • @criceto Thats a Good Point. If This Vike had trouble with it, Than How many others are really going to be able to buy this(and actually use it)? They probably only need to make like 25 of them worldwide...

  • @VikingSkills7 Magmus is a strong man, hes tested for PED each competitions. A man thats can naturally close a no3 can close a 4 on roids, and some buy it as a collection item.

  • @joe3123 just like the batman's dolls..

  • @criceto Good point

  • @criceto haha got owned by that comment

  • Because a more than a few have closed it. Strong as Magnus is, there are many that would crush him in a grip contest (if you can believe that).

  • @Magnimammen i cant believe that see as i believe there are only 4 guys in the world who can close a #4

  • I understand, and you are correct, however, not everyone in the world has as Ironmind #4. And, others still don't even use them at all for training or testing.

  • @Magnimammen forgive me but i'm not understanding your logic. If only 4 ppl in the world can close them, then obviously those 4 guys have the strongest grip. If not everyone has tried a number 4, then how do you know there are many that would crush him in a grip contest?

  • Logic? It istn't a matter of logic or rocket science! He isn't "God." There's plenty of people with stronger grips! He isn't a "grip specialist." You missed the point. If you've ever trained with large numbers of people or been around them you'd see not everyone cares to use ironmind products nor, enter ironmind contests. There's plenty of people (I know of several) that work in scrapyards who I wouldn't put anyone up against! And they don't even know what ironmind is. It's simple, really

  • @Magnimammen WHOA DUDE CHILL! I was just asking. Okay i get it. no need to bring god into this, lol.

Okay so there are some guys that could beat magnus at a grip contest by holding more weight for a longer period of time. Those guys have strength and stamina in areas that magnus doest i'm sure. But it could be said either way then. I bet THOSE guys who could beat him in a grip test probably couldnt close a #4. So there.

  • LOL, the "god" comment had nothing to do with the real God. It's you that needs to chill!!

Forget it,....I have to break everything down into laymans terms for you this ain't worth it.

  • @Magnimammen hahaha! gotcha man. You're better than me and obviously WAY smarter. So sorry i had to ruin your day by bothering you with my ignorance.

    peace.

  • @trashbash2001 Magnus is very good at holding too, in 2005 he was the first man to complete the whole course with 160kg in each hand (farmers walk)

  • @squiz8 i'm sure he is...tell that to magnimammen. He's the one that things magnus would be beat in a strength contest by construction workers.

  • @trashbash2001 I know im late, but you are correct about grip training

  • Magnus is right. Its easy to hurt yourself if you start heavy training in the begining, its just common sense, small muscles that can easily get damaged. Of all the strong mans i have seen, Magnus seems to be the only one not having the macho personality.

  • @criceto very true

  • @criceto Viking power, that's why.

  • @thefreeflowification marketing power

  • @criceto Look at you tube:

title: grip training for climbing excersise number 1

  • i wanna buy this yust to have it! would be cool to yust own it! hehe

  • He's one of only like....5 guys to ever officially close this thing right?

Shit thats insane. and I struggled with my COC 2

  • Jucka inför unga grabbar....my ass:

    Dra röven i grus.

  • Visst är detta skojigare än att dansa juck, framför unga gossar. Och det går bra att ta ett snack med mej.....tycker det är omanligt att dansa och vårda mitt yttre.

  • that shold be an oficial world strongest mane event.

  • swedish king

  • This guy's a frickin Behemoth

  • Captain of the Crush...LMAO!! The dude is like McBain...

    "Up at atom!"

    "Up and at them."

    "Up and ATOM!"

    "Up and AT THEM!"

    "Better."

  • Remind me not to shake Magnus's hand if I ever meet him.

  • That man has the DEATH GRIP, thats all we need to know.

If he got a hold of some1's neck... Goodnight!

  • Genetic giant, good that he's a friendly one

  • they tested the numer 2 and 3 at the arnold classic. only 1 of the bodybuilders there was able to close number 3

  • @debel101 if that comment's for real then i'm stronger than i thought lol

i'm no bodybuilder, just train for pull & grip

  • hey, can you overwork your forearms with these grippers? i workout shoulders, chest, triceps, and biceps and they all use forearm muscles.

  • I have a question. I seem to be able to close the #1 by positioning my hand further down but I cannot close it when I put all my hand in the regular position. Does it matter the position you put your hand in?

  • @dkblade27

    u answered your own question.

  • @katodmx007

what i meant was which is the CORRECT position to place my hands in. I dont want to close it and realize it was not the right position.

  • @dkblade27

you can move it down as long your ring finger is still on it.

  • I always like magnus samuelsson since I first saw him in the worlds strongest man!! theres a big difference between putzianosky and samuelsson? guess which difference is, word begins with R ends with S

  • Hello, I have a question that I believe you can answer. I was wondering if you can tell me, which is better and why between pole climbing and rope climbing.

  • @myksgrl

    rock climbing

  • besides from a strong grip his giant hands also work... i know a person who can walk 130kg farmers easily but has a hard time closing te captain of crush no. 2 just because of his small hands

  • you would think one .50 cal in a skinny guys hand can take down this mound of muscle. what guns can do these days is incredible.

  • Check what Svend did..... he is a hero...

  • Cool video, but I wish the guy would let Magnus finish his sentences. Some stuff I'm dealing with now in grip training he touches on, but the guy interrupts him before he can finish giving his advice.

  • Monsters!

  • was that 350 pounds?

  • @ChrisYSoccerFS 365lbs

  • lol worst close ever XD

  • Yeah, I remember losing many deadlift bouts due to grip issues.

  • Do you reckon that he ever worries that he will burst his own dick when he cracks one out......thats some insane grip

  • I'm buying one of these!

    The lightest one I mean.

  • This guy is strong as hell!

  • Magnus is certified as having closed number four, I'm pretty sure he doesn't have to cheat

  • "i know there must be a secret because i know it doesn't just come from playing with yourself"

    LMAO

  • @maxum905 ROFL..... hell yeah dude, and whise men say, there must be some additional tit-squeezing. ;-)

  • He didn't, it just looked like he did that.

  • It looks like he pushed it against his leg due to the camera angle but his hand is next to his leg while he did it, he didn't push.

  • GRAPPLEGRIP(dot)COM

    For an AMAZING challenge

  • lol, his hands are too big for it and he still closed it.

  • what does Svend Karlsen say at 4:34?

  • he does this between squats!!!!!!

  • what exactly is that thing that measures the grip called cause thats like a legit one with numbers i just wanna know the right thing to get

  • Captains of Crush, ima get it.

  • @krisb2k6y It's called the Captains of Crush grippers. Most people should start with the Trainer or #1.

  • Magnus's grip is insane. I train with grippers and if I can reach half the strength that Magnus has then I'll consider it a super achievement.

    These things are seriously hard.

  • Magnus has the best grip in the world. He was one of the ( clean) athletes. This makes the feat all the more impressive. He is a great loss to the strongman world and was always an ambassador for the sport.

  • According to wikipédia, it's 365 pounds.

  • i close the number 3 five time

  • I have closed the number 2 on 2 occasions now and I feel like my grip is really strong. This guy is a beast.

  • It could be interesting to know how he would "shake hands" with say Alexander Karelin. Remembering that someone said something like that he could crush human's skull with gripping, but anyway.

  • this dude would rape karelin!

  • heheh... sure mate. Karelin would rape him even if he was in a weel chair and blind ;).

  • sure we say that!

  • How would we even compare the two? Karelin is an olympic wrestling champion. In a fight, Karelin would destroy him. In a strength contest, Samuelsson would warm up with Karelin's best in any event.

  • Ahh man this guy is just still so beast.

  • Magnus Samuelsson the ultimate swedish viking

  • i just closed the 1.5 :D

  • he is really freaky strong

  • I bet he could break the average mans hand if he wanted.

  • I think our hand strength increases so fast is due to the fact they are so un used unless your job requires physical labor, especially with your hands.

  • @kbi35 i know your comment is ancient now - but i thought i might add that also it's because your grip uses lots of small muscles and tendons, so they can recover really quickly. as well it makes sense that they're made to recover fast because you use your hands with everything you do, and so need to be able to adapt quickly. but you probably knew that.

  • That is some serious fucking grip strength right there.

  • Can someone please explain his day 1 and day 2 routine? It's kinda confusing, and the text on the video makes it even more confusing.

  • 3 finger close on CoC4 hahahaha insane

  • 100% pure viking power

  • @adrian480 he is swedish, swedes arent vikings.

  • @mupsen123 Of course swedes aren't vikings...There are no living vikings today.

However there were Swedish vikings. They lived on the westcoast, most in the area which is now called Skåne.

  • @mupsen123 of course there were vikings who lived on the eastcoast too...

  • @adrian480 pure FARMER power!

  • Haha

    Captians of the Crush

  • Yeah, haha.

    Svend Karlsen fail x)

  • @TheAnimal220 I always call them "the captains of the crush" because of this video.

  • Hey Frank........do you have the footage of magnus performing the ccs #4 close??? would love to see it!

  • Nope, not only was Magnus' cert not video'd, but it was when IM still had the old inch-set rule. IMO, he could still CCS one, though.
