  • "OH, I LOVE SOUPY! OH, SOUPY! OH, I LOVE SOUPY!"

(There's a sucker born every minute. And two to take 'im.)

  • I think this is the first time I've ever heard this song - I've only read the title in various lists of '60s songs.

I liked watching Soupy Sales in the early '60s, but if I'd seen this on "Hullabaloo" a few years later I would've thought it was unbelievably stupid. Actually, maybe I DID see it, but don't remember it.

  • Love watching Donna and Michael- and went to Professionals Childrens School w/ Soopy's son - also w/ Rick Atwell, Gelsey Kirkland, Colleen Neary- we were all ballet fanatic students- a little younger than our "Hullabaloo" mentors and soon to be inspirations! xo

  • If everybody was as strait laced, amicable, funny and fun loving as Soapy was, then this world would be a damn sight better place to live in.

  • Wow - the dancers are doing the Curly Shuffle!!!!

  • I NEVER missed Soupy!!!!

  • this became his only hit he had(#76pop 1965)didn't know he could sing.r.i.p

  • Campy! This was stupid, but it wasn't stupid bad. It was stupid funny. It may be stupid and funny, but it got Soupy a chance to open for the Beatles on Ed Sullivan in 1965! It was funny. Campy, our Soup man. Damn, the man was the master of camp, but he was funny.

  • thumbs up if you like Soupy Sales - "The Mouse" on Hullabaloo 1965

  • That's Donna McKechnie and MIchael Bennett of Chorus Line fame behind Soupy's left shoulder at 00:34 - 00:50 (the two in the back of the line).

  • The Soupy Shuffle! 1:38 - 1:46

  • my family had a copy of this 45 record so i grew up with this song

  • i miss those days

  • Life was better when Soupy was on. I saw EVERY show on WNEW-TV, 1964-1965, including the infamous Christmas solicitation show which prompted a two-week suspension of his show, and WNEW's stupid decision not to renew his contract.

Rest In Peace, Soupy, and thanks for making my lonely adolescence joyful, from the bottom of my heart.

  • @bigbass421 Pafilafikal!

  • i saw soupy live at the paramount theater in '65. sooo cool. i love my mom for surprising me with the tix. yes he did "the mouse"!!

  • Oh. My. God. I love this version!!!!

  • A huge hit in NYC but I think Morris Levy owned Soupy as a photo in his '65 concert program has Levy with brass knuckles making Soupy wash the floor of the paramount.

  • There's a mouse in my soup!

Or maybe there's a little Soupy in my mouse!

Thanks for enriching my childhood Soupy!
