    thats just fucking annoyig FPE

  • I like the sound of like Josh Homme of Kyuss more

  • This is bad ass on so many levels.

  • weeeeeena!!!!

  • Wow what a mix that is,I like it.

  • i love you Ginger Elvis

  • @TheFurthur - YouTube® comment of the decade.

  • @TheFurthur i concur..comment of the decade

  • One word! "CREATIVE"!

  • CColony of birchmen is the name.

  • I love both bands. And I think they can do whatever the hell they want, and if people are going to top listening to them because they work with Josh Homme, then Mastodon is better off without those fans anyway.

  • @NightmareSnake I agree! For fucks sake Josh has had them open for him, and supports them like he does other bands...musicians have to stick together, and Josh is ALWAYS turning people on to good bands in the scene. Mastodon rocks. I would think their best is yet to come, which is scary!

  • @gumborific I'M certainly looking forward to it.

  • josh does sing this song on the album.

  • @jgonzalesoel what's the name of this song?

  • i dont care what anyone says, this would sound fucking great on a record

  • idk why people get all hufflepuff its just a soundcheck and they can do what the fuck they want man ha its theri band and their music, and people who like qotsa can still like mastodon.

  • thats the worst fucking idea i have ever heard, josh homme sux balls and mastodon has made 5star albums without a fucking lead singer, if mastodon allows a lead singer (which i doubt they will) i will never listen to them again just my oppinion

  • Josh Homme as their lead vocalist would be a great idea

  • @HappyMealGiel since when do mastodon have a lead vocalist. They all sing anyway!?

  • @HappyMealGiel yes would be great as long as queens was still going on because mastodon is great but QUEENS OF THE STONE AGE IS GOD.....

  • @TheFleetingShadow mass murder of all progressive bands, then suicide. prog heaven

  • So many gingers in one stage, but they all have great talent.

  • Haha, Josh is doing the Lanegan thing with the mic.

  • @TheHedgehogss what is the "Lanegan thing?"

  • @davidrush85 One hand on the stand, one hand on the mic. Pretty much the only thing Mark Lanegan ever does on stage.

  • I never tire of Josh. He consistently sings great.

  • well there's at least one thing that makes this good

  • Wot song is this?

  • THIS IS BEAUTIFUL!

  • for some reason remins me of "give the mule what he wants"

  • ♥ !

  • i hope mastodon inspires Queens of the Stone Age to make a good album because they have been total suckage the last 2 times out....

  • @loknloll I think Era Vulgaris came out after Blood Mountain so your out of luck, I hated lullabies at first but it grew on me

  • @loknloll without the meth head the music gets old. you can only take so much of hommes voice

  • @myusskyuss ahahahah, that's really mean. funny as hell....but mean.

  • they should name their band The Red Haired Deviants!

  • Mastodons of the Queen age, Queens of the Mastodon age.

  • my two favs bands in one excuse me while i change my underwear

  • haha nice. qotsa n mastodon, good ingredients...and weed

  • What's this prog heaven thing everyone keeps speaking of?

  • Josh Homme accompanying some men putting up a shed.

  • Pink Floyd+Yes+Rush+Mastodon+Intronaut+Opeth+Tool+Baroness= Prog Heaven.

  • Comment removed

  • @somebassplayer580 You forgot King Crimson and Dream Theater.

  • @NightmareSnake You are very right sir, i appologize

  • @somebassplayer580 It's quite all right, King Crimson is overlooked by many, usually through no fault of their own.

  • @somebassplayer580 prog is an overused term. It's music. Enjoy!

  • Tool + Dream Theater = Prog Heaven. I am Victorious

  • Queens of them crooked mastodons

  • mastodon + tool = prog.heaven.

  • @Jimihendrix6699 No, YES + RUSH is prog heaven

  • @MikeDiamond69 king crimson + jethro tull = prog heaven

  • @Jimihendrix6699 NICE!!!

  • @MikeDiamond69 rush indeed!

  • MASTODOMME

  • QUEENS OF THE STONE MASTODON

  • QUEENS OF THE MASTODON

  • I hope that mastodon and Queens of the Stone age tour together one day - I'd get a boner if I found out that happening

  • josh homme IS in a metal band..granted he dont sing really but..dude can play the hell outta progressive metal

  • @Drumhead899 your wrong man... his bands aint metal

  • @ITSOCEAN9000 Try listening to some of their older songs. They're pretty heavy

  • @grahamzandah yeah i totally agree, their music is heavy. i was just saying that its not in the "metal" category. nothing to do with heavyness just genre of music...

  • @ITSOCEAN9000 Hmm, interesting point of view. What would make you say they're not metal?

  • @grahamzandah just to clarify.... im referring to josh hommes bands not being metal- in case you thought i was trying to say mastadon werent metal :)

hommes bands are more stoner alternative rock... none of them are metal- which i would class as metalica, pantera etc

  • @ITSOCEAN9000 OHHHH, haha I see then. Yeah then I would totally agree with that. Although I could still see how Mastodon and Queens of the Stone Age share some similarities.

  • @grahamzandah yeah definitely, haha well glad we cleared that up :)

  • @ITSOCEAN9000

Dude ever heard of a lil band called Kyuss?

  • yes! they are fuckin awsome!!!!!! joshuas origens

  • try System of a Down (SOAD) Serj and Daron dosent sound like Josh but some of their songs have a stooner-rock/metal vibe

  • I would like metal, if metal bands had singers like Josh Homme!

  • I know what you mean, listen to Mastodon they may just change your mind, blood mountain, crck the skye etc.

  • @SweetCrookedQueen I guess Ian Gillan, Ozzy, Dio, and Rob Halford can't sing?

  • Comment removed

  • @gumborific I'm a huge Black Sabbath fan and I listen to some Deep Purple and Judas Priest. I just think some metal singers "shout" too much

  • @SweetCrookedQueen AGREED

  • @SweetCrookedQueen if metal bands had singers like Josh Homme I would have no need for QOTSA.

  • @SweetCrookedQueen Then you could basically listen to early Qotsa:P

    They're at least very heavy:)

Love qotsa... But I also Love Mastodon.. If you haven't listened to them... try! they're awesome.

    They're not like other metalbands..

I would suggest the Leviathan album at first.. and if you don't like it..Fine, as long as you tried:P

Ok, lesson over for today, good bye, Chldreeeen!!<3<3<3<3

    Sodmysodomy

  • Brent's singing is awesome... Listen to seabeast and Naked Burn vocals.. AWESOME!

try those two out, and then I'll leave you alone:P

  • oh shit i didnt realize its the lead singer to that band queens of the stone age , thats pretty funny too

  • thats hella funny , they gave the kid a chance . that hidden track of joshes letter is so damn hilarious but hey more power to the kid , great job , like tim and eric

  • @dust4333

He's not a "kid." The dude has been in the music business since his teens. Check out the band Kyuss.

  • @dust4333 lol, 'kid'? He's big! kinda like a construction worker of a lumberjack or something

Also he's been doing music since early 90's (and probably before that) check out Kyuss(guitar), Queens of the Stone Age (vocals, guitar, some bass), Them Crooked Vultures (vocals guitar), Desert Sessions and Eagles of Death Metal (drums).

  • YES A MASTODON GUITAR SOLO

  • Josh knows good music.

  • drummer has talent to not over power these MASTODONS!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • I love this video... kinda looks like Mastodon at my 10th grade talent show! HA HA

  • colony of birchmen is the best song

  • How dare they put Five Finger Fag Punch on the related videos?!

  • so the alternative kiddies think it's cool to like Mastodon...but they still say metal sucks, ha fuck those pencil necks. Get into music for yourself!!!

  • i dont normally like metal...but for mastodon i'll make an exception...mastodon ftw!!!!!!!

  • They do this on the studio version too, but it's harder to hear. Btw Mastodon + Queens of the Stone Age + Baroness + The Sword = the GREATEST stoner metal/alt rock tour of all time

  • All my favorite bands man you rock.

  • Thanks man, but honestly, wouldn't that be the greatest tour of all time? OH, and The Melvins also

  • hell yeah

  • @metallicakixtotalass: *drooool*

  • @metallicakixtotalass + kyuss could be even crazier... if they still existed

  • Yeah, I only recently started listening to them, but totally 100% - they would probably co-headline with The Melvins

  • Comment removed

  • @BeyondZeGrave oh really? havent heard

  • I don't think so..

i heard that the queens will make a tour with their first album

  • yaa cant wait!!

  • yupp and they are ONLY playing songs from that CD. should be pretty cool.

  • @metallicakixtotalass omg are you busting my balls or is it a real tour????

  • @JEREMYTRUJEQUE Yes and no, they are going on tour with Baroness as an opener along with Between the Buried and Me and Valient Thorr, but none of the other bands, just saying that would be amazing

  • @metallicakixtotalass oh i know that. i was gonna go to that concert.

  • @metallicakixtotalass you know what would be WAY more amazing? mastodon, clutch, baroness, high on fire.

  • @radshoesbro Baroness is like almost mastodon in the first place though haha

  • @perfectoblong i'm sure people will disagree, but i think baroness is a better band.

  • @metallicakixtotalass

Omg, that would be the best tour ever

  • @metallicakixtotalass dnt forget good old kyuss man, tht was josh hommes 1st band n they were awesome

  • @metallicakixtotalass dont forget Isis :P

  • @metallicakixtotalass and High on Fire and a Kyuss reunion

  • @metallicakixtotalass Kyuss was the best stoner metal, there will never be anything better or anything that comes close. only thing you can do these days is look back.

  • @metallicakixtotalass you forgot SLEEP bro!! matt pike had it on lock a long time ago

  • @metallicakixtotalass Get rid of Baroness and throw in Electric Wizard and now you're talking.

  • @IamLiterallyRetarded and Sleep, and High On Fire.

  • @Viibrate Well, if we're resurrecting bands, can we get Sabbath circa 1974? And Pentagram.

  • @IamLiterallyRetarded Of course.

  • MASTODON OF THE STONE AGE.

  • @supersycho You're a genius, I truly hope you know that.

  • @supersycho that kinda works:P

  • @supersycho Thats when they were around.

  • Mastodon kicks ass

  • amazing light show

  • ummm... ok....

  • mastodon+homme=orgie in the dark

  • i knew it was josh in that song when i heard the album!

  • never listened to mastodon but this is fucking kickass

  • never listened to Mastodon? go buy Leviathan!!

  • And Crack the Skye and Blood Mountain and even Remission if you REALLY like them like I do :D

  • Mastodon + Josh = Sex + Chocolate

  • He is right but it needs to be more concise. Its too long of a comment.

  • Before the cat fight continues...lets put some things into perspective. Good music is good music If you don't like something just don't buy it and leave that bands fans alone. You don't need to put other people down because you're insecure and need to re-affirm your musical superiority. Show some maturity and act like an adult. All you're doing is showing how ignorant and hopeless you are as a human being. Music is supposed to enhance our lives... so please LISTEN WITHOUT DISTRACTION

  • I'm diggin the drummers Randy Rhoads set.

  • Queens overrated???? You like 311 you fuck. You have no music credibility. Those dudes rather smoke weed than write good music.

  • hey, have an open mind on music. I think mastodon and 311 are both fuckin kickass. and most of the concepts that mastodon write, are when theyre trippin nutsacks.

  • u got something against weed?

  • Or maybe those dudes think they are writing good music because they have different tastes from you (not that I like them).

On the topic of weed, according to Brent Hinds a lot of Mastodon riffs start with him having some free time and a big bag of weed...

  • 311 sucks horendously

  • you mean underrated

  • lisduggan64, this is not as cliche as you make it sounds. I don't really hear a Sabbath connection, so much as I hear Metallica on LSD.

Sure, the formula has been around, but Mastodon fucking rocks (insane fucking drummer).

And for the rock is fucked bull shit, to sit back and complain about the death of rock music, without picking up an instrument or writing a book/article about it, well that's just not rock & roll.

  • the drumming is definently different, well everything about mastodon is though.

  • Mastodon is badass, Josh Homme is a fucking genius, together its... well... you can't describe it in words lol.

  • That is way too harsh. I respect mastodon for they are finding a fresh and creative approach to a tired and dieing sound. I think that's the state of rock/metal, digging up the past and taking it another step further. Listen through both Blood Mountain and Crack the Skye and i'm sure you will agree. They are some sounds on those records are truly unique to mastodon. they got me back into metal

  • it`s a matter of taste dude.

    keep your socks on

  • SOLUTION: listen to sabbath, NOT mastodon. let us new-age metal heads get our metal on and you stick with your generation's metal. just cause your dying of old age doesnt mean youve gotta ruin metal for us kids.

  • wat?

  • retarded comment

  • Well, first off he said Homme was a genius, and this isn't Homme's song, he's just singing on it...

Now who do you think can play metal without "ripping off" Sabbath in some way? Fuck if you play a low power chord with distortion and let it ring out and bend it it sounds like Sabbath. But Mastodon is really creative and I have a hard time believing you really think this is a straight-up ripoff. Blood Mountain is one of the most creative metal albums I have heard and I do listen to Sabbath.

  • Has to be some of the most original music for a while... Crack the Skye as well. It even won a Grammy for whatever thats worth.

Homme is still a genius but that makes everyone in the don mad scientists.

  • Right on man. Sabbath started the whole thing, but it is easily possible to make something original within the genre, otherwise metal would have died when sabbath broke up. Am i right?

  • there r a ton of bands that do it intronaut, behold the archtopus, meshuggah and toni iommi didnt write those riffs those r blue licks played fast and heavy, he just composed them in a certain manor. to think sabbath was the first ahahhaah

  • Sabbath WERE the first metal band...they did alot more than play blues riffs fast and heavy, for a start they were not fast at all, more of a slow doomy feel which was completely unlike anything at the time..lots of use of the augmented fourth helped too.

  • They actually did have some fast songs though. IMO "Children of the Grave" was the first metal song ever written. Just listen to that heavy, open-E galloping and heavy power chords, so many metal bands do that now, including Mastodon! Just listen to Iron Tusk

  • oh my god.

    this is.... a m a z i n g !

    josh homme is fuckin amazing.

as is mastodon. which makes this...

    just great

  • he does guest vocals on the album track colony of the birchmen

  • ..and I jizzed..in...my pants

  • epic song.

  • omg i just came..........

  • just in the middle of the two styles. very nice song.

  • qotsa and mastodon r my two favorite bands ...and i had no idea that they r friends thats sick

  • Josh Homme says his own name on Blood Mountain...

  • GREAT BAND AND GREAT JOSH HOMME!

  • The two of them sound great together on the bridge section.

  • Quite a Tasty Riff.

  • Mastodon Is Actually Great Friends With Queens Of The Stone Age Lead Singer Josh Homme. Look Into Shit Before You Make Assumptions...

  • Why do you capitalize the first letter of each word?

  • Because Everything He Says Is Really Important And You Should Know It.
