  • Thanks so much for posting!!!! I love this video...

  • Love the part with George Washington hehe.

  • It must be very difficult to consistently play the wrong notes! What an amazing musician Borge was (pardon me "is", since he is immortal).

  • jajajaja! y el primero toca con guantes!! jajaja!

  • cis mol waltz

  • actually, this is pretty funny..

  • It's actually more difficult to play a known piece wrong than it is to play it right. Genius Borge!

  • omg that was hilarious, thank you for posting XD

  • does anyone know what year this was recorded?

  • I love this video. Thanks to this video and Victor Borge for getting me into Chopin.

  • 上手い!これがアメリカンジョーク☆☆☆☆☆!

  • {Chopin, Frédéric} -- Valse - Op.64 No.2 - in C#m

  • Very fun :-D

  • i am loving it

  • Victor Borge was from Denmark

  • What does the man who is wiping the piano say in 1:43?

  • "That's a nice piece. Boy my life - my wife likes that one."

I don't think he was meant to say life and tries to recover but there seems to be a cut there.

  • Ah, now I see. Thank you. :-)

  • Still really funny though i've seen another version of this which i prefer. for example he asks the coffee man if he player the piano and when he says no victor feels safe... until he plays on his flute. And when the autograph kid starts playing he just stands there until he's done then says "out."

  • funny! my friend is playing that piece on the piano.

  • whats the name of the song he's trying to play?

  • Waltz: Op. 64 No.2 - Chopin

  • Its a walz from chopin the middle part ...op.64

  • Magnifico! Grazie 1000!

    Magnifique, merci beaucoup!

  • Playing a piece wrong convincingly when you know it well is extremely difficult - a genius!

  • I love that man ..and he is danish; I still wonder why he did't stay here in Denmark? Maybe we did't speak english, at that time?

  • he fled for the nazi's

  • Thanks for putting it on youtube

  • Welcome, i love all his vids so i just wanna share

  • SOOOOO FUNNY!!!

  • Which piece is this? I have heard it once before and I love this one!

  • chopin walce c sharp minor op 64 no 2

  • Thank you very much!

  • The way he repeatedly looks at the score and then his hands in frustration is very nicely done. Top class acting.

  • Very funny indeed!

    nina

  • the woman who gives borge powder played a wrong note ;)

  • Lol, you certainly have a sharp ear lol!!

  • @carolynkkh if it was sharp he wouldn't have heard it.

  • you're good!

  • Who cares? It actually adds to the bit.

  • you're right...in the bass :)

  • That's actually part of the act :)

If you watch the other act (from the 70's), then there the woman also plays a wrong note.

  • @civilbb LMAO You're like me. Every time I hear a wrong note, I can't ignore it.

  • @civilbb she didnt play a wrong note, she skipped 3 on the semi chromatic ascending scale at the end.

  • @civilbb lol my dad plays cello and he has amazing hearing. I've been coming with the Bach adagio and fugue for about 5 lessons and then one day my dad was listening to me practice and found 3 different wrong notes that I was playing that my teacher didn't notice and my teacher has a doctors degree lol it's hilarious

  • Waltz Op.64 No.2

  • What piece is this?

  • One of the chopin valse. Op i forgot dy sorry... but it's one of my favourite piece when i was learning piano.

  • @carolynkkh op.64

  • @seanlerkvikarn

It's Waltz Op. 64, No. 1. Also called "valse du petit chien" or roughly translated "puppy waltz" :) In English it's also called "Minute Waltz" though why i don't know. Lovely piece!

  • @Rumozamonien Number 2, actually.

  • @seanlerkvikarn Opus 64 No. 2 by Chopin, naturally.

  • @seanlerkvikarn c# minor waltz op64.2

  • @seanlerkvikarn : Chpin Op 64 no.2

  • I just about wet myself watching this! LOL!

    Excellent post.

Seriously, though. It must take a great deal of skill to deliberately make mistakes like that for an accomplished musician.

  • This is one of Borge's stock routines, you can find this from other concerts, elsewhere on YouTube.

  • Wow! I loved it! He truly is a great musician, but how did that one guy play with huge gloves on? Hmm...

  • ahaha, maybe he's a really good musician. I played once with those kind of gloves but it's really slippery and to play at that speed, he must be a really pro.

  • lol maybe greater than Borge... post some more if you haven't already^_^.

  • Will try to find somemore and post. Some are audio files. Busy recently

  • I love chopin valse but i havent been playing for 6 years now haha.

  • This is great! :) I actually learned how to play this song, but I haven't played it in awhile. So I'm thinking I sound like Victor at this moment. :P

  • Glad you guys enjoy it. I found this funnier than the one where Victor Borge performn in London, when he's older.

  • I think the London one was funnier, maybe because I saw that one first, but the technique of these guys are definitely better, the playing flowed much better

  • i chose to upload this one because all the pianists here can play better than those in the London one.

  • awesome...thanks very much for upping it. Are you perchance a pianist?

  • Ahaha, no i can play but i'm not a pianist, havent been playing for 6 years now, not after i complete my grade 8 and decided to take violin. Used to dream of becoming a pianist but not until i fell in love with violin...and since music's not popular in my country, i decided to get a master in Pharmacy first then self support (if possible) to further my studies in Music. If only i still have to chance haha.

  • Nice one. How bout falling in love with me, as I play the violin. Well, I used to, until I decided that law would make me more money, but I was trained to be a soloist. I was useless, absolutely useless at the piano. GOt Grade 5 when I was 18, because the teacher who taught composing forced me to.

  • Cool one, trained as a soloist, i always dream of having such opportunity haha. Maybe, but how exactly am i going to fall for you i'm not sure haha

  • You're 19 and you are studying for a Masters in Pharmacology? You're a genius! Its really hard to drop out of the music scene and attempt to return. Trust me, I'm only half out and I cant get back in already.

  • Oh no no,i'm taking an Integrated Master degree, means i study for 3.5 years and i graduate holding a Integrated master of pharmacy cert, that's what i've been told haha. But in UK, they call this master of pharmacy....swt, actually i'm not sure myself as well, althought we have the cert bearing 'master of pharmacy' but we're actually integrated masters. Oh i may be wrong. Gotta check first haha. Oh it's not pharmacology, it's Pharmacy, althought we do focus on pharmacology.

  • that was really funny!

  • lol!
