  • Keep on contacting your congressmen and -women and tell them that you want cheney and bush to be impeached.

  • Olbermann was all over Clinton for his bullshit pardons. Oh wait, no he wasn't.

  • Bush commuted one of his own staffers! James Madison, at the Constitutional Convention, said to Impeach any President who pardoned or sheltered those who committed crimes advised by that President.

  • wake up amerika!!!

never let anyone do your thinking for you

    your thoughts dictate your actions

if you let them control what you think, you let them control you

    start doing your own homework

    the revolution is now

  • Funny. Either you're Keith Olbermann or you're totally letting him do your thinking for you. Some revolution.

  • Have always done my own research and thought for myself, hon.

I think our disagreement is you do not seem to think that lying to protect the person(s) who really outed Plame is a crime. I do and clearly the court did.

If lying and obstruction were not prosecuted, then all guilty parties would just get themselves a fall guy,and since the fall guy didn't "really do anything wrong" there would be no consequences at all,nor motivation for said putz to ever tell the truth. Not a healthy idea.

  • Libby did not lie to protect anyone because no crime was even committed. No one in the White House outed Plame. The prosecutor KNEW who outed here but pursued Cheney and Rove anyway.

  • Yes they did out her,and to do was treasonous under the law.

Now Bush has commuted Libby's sentence. Interesting choice, because he acknowledges Libby's guilt on the perjury and obstruction charges, but just claims to have decided to that he deemed the SENTENCE to be "excessive."

  • Olbermann is right! And there is only ONE prez. candidate who he should vote: Ron Paul! Unforunately, Olberman hasn´t said anything about Paul. I hope he will! Visit my channel for more information! P A U L 2 0 0 8
  • Olbermann isn't asking for a constitutional amendment, he's pointing out the extreme conflict of interesting that exists in this case. To focus on Olbermann's comments on Scooter Libby specifically is to be guilty of the crime he is accusing people of committing; which is to ignore the abhorrent track record of this administration.

  • Can you say melodrama? I wonder if Olberman said the same thing when Clinton pardoned hundreds of his buddies.... This is Bush's first. Oh wait! It isn't a pardon at all yet....

  • Bush has issued over 100 pardons and commuted several sentences so no,this was not his first.

  • You're right. I was wrong. Still not close to Clinton's 365 pardons and 65 commutations. And I still guarantee Olberman never said anything remotely similar about him. One of whom was actually hiding from justice in Sweden and later gave over $1 million to the Clintons.

  • Why are you so obsessed with Clinton? Nixon-963 pardons and commutations.

Kennedy issued 572. Johnson pardoned or commuted the sentences of 186 people, and Wilson's number was 3,687.

Since none of them including Clinton, is currently President, let's deal with the present.

  • Correction to typo: Johnson's was 1186,not 186.

  • Actually, my comment was about Olberman in reality. If he didn't have the same derision for Clinton's humungous numbers then he's a partisan hypocrite. Plain and simple.

  • Maybe KO could devote a show to all the pardons in history, including Clinton's and the ones I mentioned with much higher numbers than Clinton's and make you happy.

Meanwhile,it is the NATURE of this particular commutation that has ppl pissed off. The guy lied to protect Cheney, and Bush rescued him. It seems you don't get it.

  • You're right. I don't get it. Richard Armitage outed Plame. Fitzgerald knew he outed Plame before the investigation into Libby even began. Even though the crime was outing plame, Fitzgerald never charged the man who he knew did it. Then he wasted tax dollars carrying out a farcical investigation during which Libby was convicted of lying. The investigation was unnecessary, and therefore, any of Libby's supposed lies are superflous at best, and should not result in any form of prosecution.

  • The lying was the crime. There is dispute about who originally outed her,too much to go into here, but it doesn't matter because but Libby took the fall. By commuting his sentence,Bush removed any chance that Libby would ever be motivated to spill.

  • What you don't seem to get is that Libby did not LIE to protect anyone because no one needed protecting. No one at the White House leaked the name, especially Cheney. We are not even sure that leaking the name was a crime anyway since it was common knowledge she worked for the CIA.

  • Do some research on what Wilson and Plame were involved with at the time, what Wilson said publicly about the administration. It might help clarify the motive for you.

  • Good grief, you are so misinformed. It is public record that she was outed. Libby admitted under oath that he learned Plame's status from Cheney. He failed to be more helpful and perjured himself because to "out" a CIA agent is treason, and he has been nicely compensated for his obstruction.

  • It is public record she was outed by Armitage. One can't be outed twice. The prosecutor knew who outed her BEFORE the investigation. No investigation (therefore no obstruction) was necessary. It was about getting someone in the White House, nothing more. Otherwise Armitage would have been charged by now.

  • wow I accuse u of being a mornon who doesnt understand the constition. Hey idiot why would he wait till the appeals are over he could be in jail for months before anything happened. sir your remedy is a constitutional amendment not impeachment. sorry your an idiot.

  • wake up amerika!

this corporation is owned and operated through secret societies

  • Nice Murrow homage. I watch your show now, Mr. Olbermann, thank you.
