Thank you for posting this because this music comes from my childhood, growing up goth and living in the Bronx in the 1980s. Wow, Thank You Billy William Clemet Oliver the 3rd of The JollyRogers.
The second guitarist is Craig ("The Fifth Smith") Gannon, he played on the singles Panic and Ask and toured with the band around the country and USA. He also did some work with Moz in his solo career.
Craig Gannon had played with Aztec Camera and with The Bluebells before his work with The Smiths. When bass player Andy Rourke was fired in early 1986, Gannon was hired to replace him. Within a fortnight, however, Rourke was reinstated and Gannon moved to rhythm guitar, playing on the "Panic" and "Ask" singles as well as the scrapped single "You Just Haven't Earned It Yet Baby". He toured with The Smiths in 1986 as their second Guitar player and stayed on until the tour was over in Oct.1986.

Does it really matter about the audio? We know the mucic by heart. We even know the meaning now.
It¨ll never change; I was 17 in 86.
And Thank You for being wise and forward looking enough to acknowledge, that this is love.

Thanks for the info. Obviously a good muso whose presence allowed Marr to shine live and play more intricate riffs.
The Smiths were magic, especially live.
