So great!! Not as good as the original though, because that is one of the best songs ever recorded. But this a great cover and James' voice is perfect.
I don't think it's better than the original but I really love how they added the classic Metallica energy to a song that's usually pretty soft throughout.
I think James' voice on night 2's version was kick ass, I love the bit towards the end when he sings "...now the sun's gone to HEEEEELLLLLL!!, the moon's riding hiiiiiggghhh!!"

It's really a great song. But Hetfield sang out of tune and destroyed the whole mood of the song. Too bad. Metallica has been dead now for more then 10 years. When was the last time that something really decent has come out of Metallica?
Metallica was not made for mainstream music/people - they play and live for music they love - way too many people judge them on black album only. So if they hear a new album and it's different from the black album - they don't like it speaks negative about Metallica. Come on man!

I do not agree. This version i just different, it`s Metallica Style. Knofler`s version is more nostalgic so the lirycs becomes much telling. Mark`s giutar playing is unique as well, specially for this song.
this version is strong, and with emotions in everywhere... but the original brothers in amrs of dire straits... is a hit. you see the version of mark knopfler in monserrat, or with the dire straits in on the night, live '92... you will say me!!

I like the way Kirk played it the first night, it was alot better towards the end then how he does it here on the second.
