On at least 4 regents (state-wide testing), I scored in the top 1 percentile and never studied. I ended up earning a scholarship to one of the better private institutions in the country and struggled mightly first semester to make the adjustment. I was a Chem major but my peers seemed to do just fine off the bat and all happened to come from uppity prep schools I couldn't afford.

Even on scholarship, I had to pay $12G a year for room&board. Much less than $50,000 but how many Americans can afford that? Its a new form of segregation needed to be addressed.

We have a good loans & bursary system here but at the time the gov't was cutting everything and educational funding was first to go. So I took whatever work I could find before & after classes. A high school degree simply is not enough anymore for our kids to seriously lead this country. Most of what we're taught in high school is material covered several years earlier in other nations. Coincidence? Not sure but I do know that a well educated public is a threat to any type of hegemony that exists.

I had to work twice as hard for the first couple of years. The education standards are way too low and whole system needs to be reorganized. Considering the government's priorities that won't happen anytime. "No child left behind"? Entire generations have been left behind and no one seems to care.

On at least 4 regents (state-wide testing), I scored in the top 1 percentile and never studied. I ended up earning a scholarship to one of the better private institutions in the country and struggled mightly first semester to make the adjustment. I was a Chem major but my peers seemed to do just fine off the bat and all happened to come from uppity prep schools I couldn't afford.

@twinkiefoot The unfortunate reality is that unless your parents have a trust fund, you'll never have the resources to really get a proper education. There are a few that break the mold, like myself (and I apologize if by making this comment I sound pompous but it wasn't my intent) but we're in the extreme minority. Even on scholarship, I had to pay $12G a year for room&board. Much less than $50,000 but how many Americans can afford that? Its a new form of segregation needed to be addressed.

We have a good loans & bursary system here but at the time the gov't was cutting everything and educational funding was first to go. So I took whatever work I could find before & after classes. And those kids that went to "uppity prep schools" were tough to keep up with. And they didn't have to work.

Based on that I was given a list of schools to chose from. None of them were anywhere near affordable - unless I won the lottery. I went to a decent college - not community college but sometimes I wonder. That test later made me realized I wasn't meeting my full potential. So I settled for second best and work in a dead end job.

Those things are very inaccurate especially for people who don't fit the cookie-cutter mold of a middle-class WASP. And that is the problem. If you don't fit that mold, you always have to accept 2nd/3rd best for an education, something that is a God given right and indirectly articulated in the Constitution: the right to the "life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness."

It is exactly why when the Emancipation Proclamation wasn't issued until 1862, a full year after the war started. Ironically, it only "freed" slaves in the South, which the North had no control over. His policy before then was mostly focused on appeasement with Southern interests.

Punch in a few of the key words I menioned & (if the obama staff has not had them expunged by now, like they did w/ the interviews w/the deans at Harvard who told us BHO was not real bright), you should be able to find what I did. The REASON wont show...she RAN to turn in her license before charges were made.

There's also continuing education obligations that some people with no intention of practicing ny time soon want to avoid. U should use your LOCAL LIBRARY to search newspapers etc. Just now I punched in the main law firm BO used to keep his info private, (perkins coie) & found a list of payments made by BO's campaign: Google "Transparency? Nothing about Obama is on the Level". Concerns included did he apply for aid as a FOREIGN student. etc I'll see what I have on file.

What happened was they were NOT designed to withstand hits from 767's (much larger than the planes in use when they were built) with FULL FUEL TANKS, AT FULL SPEED!!!! They were designed to withstand accidental hits from small planes--no one envisioned 9/11

It wasn't the actual hits that doomed the buildings, it was the burning jet fuel--they did not envision that level of damage from that aspect of plane strikes. The fuel fires weakened the steel support columns to the extent that they could no longer bear the weight above them, and eventually they each failed one by one as everything above them collapsed on top of them. That's what happened, whether you want to acknowledge it or not

Thing is, steel doesn't have to "melt" in order to collapse a structure, it only has to wear down the steel's resistance to heavy loads, which is EXACTLY what happened here. Those kinds of fires may not have been high enough to melt steel, but they were CERTAINLY enough to sufficiently weaken it until it no longer had any resistence

They've done MULTIPLE simulations that determined the level of damage done by those fires was MORE THAN ENOUGH to weaken those steel columns. Sorry try again. WTC 7 has also been demonstrated very clearly as being a combination of EXTENSIVE damage from falling debris from the first two, and the fires they caused
