@heatmanable - No, I am not SDA (7th Day Adventist). It is hard getting through to cultists like JW, because they are taught people will try and convert them. They are programmed to reject anything that is critical of JW teachings, and if they do leave, they are disfellowshipped. There is no more communication with friends and family. It's tough!

Wow! Yet another truth revealed. I have been so troubled about the doctrinal belief of immediately going to heaven when we die. As the Word of God states that we "sleep" until our Lord's return(the resurrection on the last day). I was getting ready to do another indepth Bible study to prove it. Thank you for clearing this up! Do you have any thoughts on the difference(if any)of being saved and entering the kingdom? Can you be saved but not enter the kingdom? God Bless You!

We go into paradise when we die. Read the story of the rich man and Lazarus. Also when the thief on the cross told Jesus to remember him, Jesus replied TODAY you will be with me in paradise, not heaven. Heaven will be here on Earth after the Lord returns and the last battle is fought.

Good question. We don't take on immortality until God grants it to us. Where does the Bible say we currently have an immortal soul?

Think about this: If we have an immortal soul which goes directly to heaven or hell when we die, what is the purpose for the Resurrection when Christ returns.

"For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first" 1 Thess 4:16

No. John was in prison on Patmos in the latter part of the 1st century when he received ALL of the revelation. The revelation was a vision of Church development, both the true and the false, from his day up to the last day.

If the Bible does not explain ghosts, then we should not assume they are of God or represent truth.

Remember the devil has come to kill, steal, and destroy (John 10:10) He will use all methods to deceive people away from God's revealed truth. This is why He commands in His Word not to consult spirits, divination, and astrology. When we do these things, we are opening our lived up to deceptive spirits.

Souls are immortal after the resurrection.

Question. Souls are eternal, aren't they? Either we are eternally with God or eternally seperated from God. Is that not true?

We take on immortality when Almighty God grants it to us. When we die, we enter a state of sleep. We enter the grave until Our Lord calls us when He returns. This is the whole purpose of the Last Day Resurrection. Think about this... If we are already in heaven the instance we die, what purpose does the Resurrection serve? Scripture is clear. We rise from the grave when Christ returns. To us it will be the twinkling of an eye. We will not even remember passing through death at all.

We do have heaven in our heart though, don't we? Would'nt it make sense that the fullness of God is in the Father, therefore when we are in eternity(with the Father), we are in the fullness of God, and on earth we spiritually experience what heaven is like, and in the 1,000 year reign we physically experience it. Then eternally we are in the fullness of the Father? Just an observation, I do have scriptures that would back this up, I just want to know if you find this to be true according to God.

Those who died outside of salvation will rise in the 2nd resurrection at the end of the 1,000 year reign of Christ. Those people will stand in judgment based on their own works and be eternally separated from God.

Lazarus was raised from the dead to show that Jesus(God) has power over death. Also it was prophetic of Jesus' death and resurrection.

We go to the grave. If that's how you want to define the "grave" in the 21st century, sobeit. The point of making the distinction was to put ourselves in the mind of the author. "Hell" today to most people means a fiery torment. If that's what you mean, then my answer is a definite "no". If you mean the grave or a cemetery, my answer is "yes". I hope this makes sense.
