It basically allows you to a whole bunch of things that you cant do on an iPhone which is not jailbroken such as:

-run cracked apps (appstore apps for free)

-enable video recording for the 2G and 3G iPhone

-view battery life %

and a whole bunch of other things, (those are just a few specific examples)

Removes the apps from your iPod?

When you try to sync with iTunes, it should give you a message asking if you would like the copy the apps on your iPod/Phone to your iTunes library. Make sure you select yes when you see this message

If you are not getting the message asking if you would like to transfer the apps to your iTunes Library, try right clicking your iPhone or iPod Touch under devices, and click on "Reset Warnings" when you try to sync now, it should pop the warning up!

If you would like to sync your cracked apps that you obtained from Installous to your iTunes:

1) Open up installous

2) Go to the "Settings" tab at the bottom right

3) Switch "iTunes sync" to on.

You should be able to sync your apps onto iTunes now.

Last time I check (yesterday) there seemed to be a lot of apps. Have you tried restarting your iPod?

Did you set up your device as new when you jailbroke your phone? Or did you restore your settings?

Most problems arise from not jailbreaking your iPhone or iPod Touch from a clean installation of the new firmware.

Also, if you have Winterboard installed, check to see if installous is hidden.
