@Taurai321: That is also an excellent point - I am currently covering advanced molecular genetics and am doing pretty well with it, because I have had YEARS and YEARS of exposure to related fields and basic molecular genetics under my belt. Yet the REALLY high level shit still takes me a while to wrap my head around. And my classmates with less experience but just as much dedication still struggle. It does not bode well for Joe the Plumber learning how to do PCR and RFLP analysis!

I am myself a master degree graduate engineer which has made me qualified for a lot of high level work, but I have to idea how to build a bathroom from top to bottom.

@feonor26 You are correct that I used inappropriate terminology. It was not clear that I meant "Joe the Plumber" to be the completely unskilled worker. A carpenter or plumber has skills that I certainly do not have and would be invaluable. I should have said "Pothead the McBurger Flipper" or something like that instead. And I think that it is those completely unknowledged AND unskilled people that Rogan is referring to as well. And I believe they are the vast majority and that is the scary thing

@Taurai321: and of course, don't forget now, that the majority of people actually actively fight AGAINST the learning process. Why and how would they be motivated to suddenly reverse their ideology? Couple that with groups that are trying to teach creation and religion and literally looking at the science and saying "I disagree with that - my magic skydaddy makes more sense" who are actively trying to TEACH that NOW and where are we left? It's a scary thought.

some people know a SMALR part, and others another SMALR part. the people who can design a sky scraper, wouldnt know how to physicaly build it. most people have a small skill or knowledge that is needed to make the world go around. no 1 person would be able to creat all we have now, but together, we make it work.

The majority of people don't have skills beyond typing and burger flipping. Get 1 million of them together and they can't do what 10 or 20 of the people you are referring to can

Of course. Inbreeding and royalty mating with other royalty is a stupid idea. But that hasn't stopped the aristocracy of Europe doing it for the last couple of thousand years. Every now and then they even have "odd" children. But just hide them away. They saw it as keeping their royal/noble blood pure.
