To be fair I kind of sympathise with Axl here, he must be sick to hell of all the "whens the reunion" "wheres Slash" questions. GNR needs all of its original members to be proper GNR, not just Axl n Slash.
Axl has made it pretty clear he doesnt want a reunion, I think that we can take from this that Axl judges a reunion to be Him and Slash getting together. Axl has played on stage with both Izzy and Duff, he doesnt want to play with more than 1 of them at a time because if that happens...
...then the questions about reunion will get 10 times worse. He doesnt want to get involved with Steven because Steven is very open about wanting to get the band back together and playing with him would open another can of worms. It has to be remembered that Axl is very insecure about people and press misinterpriting and twisting his words, he always has been. As far as Im aware Slash would be open to the idea of a reunion but wont go out of his way to make it happen....
There is clearly some major issues between Axl and Slash. Slashes rage built up through years of having to tip toe around Axl, I think that post 94 when Axl went totally nuts and became a complete musical dictator he started messing with Slashes solos and overdubbed him with other players etc (Sympathy for the Devil for example) that really hurt Slash (quite understandably IMO). Clearly Slash had enough and they said/did things to each other that they cannot forgive... (sorry this is long)

hers why slash is better than those three guitarists, slash's solos sound diff in every song. ur three sound the same as the next guy who learns to play realy fast, and play boring crap that made me sleepy. u want speed? MICHAEL ANGELO BATIO ! thats the only "speed" techinque that sound decent because its not just pure speed, he slows down and everything. ppl get bored of speed, and of slow songs, but slash lives on!

I really don't see the big deal about Slash anyway, really. I've heard WAY many better guitarists from the UK, Japan, and other places. He's pretty much normal compared to what I'm used to. Listen to Herman Li, he is fucking badass. MUCH better than Slash!

Axl is GNR? Axl is nothing compared to legends like Steven Tyler. I respect the man but his voice is good sometimes and bad sometimes.
As for Slash, his skills are held in high regard, up there with some of the greats. I don't call him god, I don't say he's the best, but he's damn good.

im not denying that slash has skill and i will be the first to say hes great but axl does not need him, slash has become bitter almost, all i hear is axl is this and axl is that, u never ever hear axl say shit about slash, except for the odd comment at a concert, which i only know of one anyways.and as for steven tyler, nope, he does not fit in axls league(AT ALL). axl writing is by far more in depth and emotional it blows any aerosmith song out of the water.

Cuz Slash wanted to continue going the way that Guns N' Roses were when they did Appetite and Axl wanted to be in control but wasn't getting it. Pretty sad too. Axl was so doped up on his fucking drugs that he couldn't see what was happening.
