@noxxjazz Remember, you need to disable AND disarm it. Two Omegas should jump into take it away, but they fail to dock with it so they call in a frieghter, the freighter will dock with it and take it away. This all happens while you deal with wave after wave of fighters. The mission is complete when the freighter leaves through the node with the Taranis.

Yes, however if you purchase FreeSpace 2 and use the Source Code Project for it, you can use massively improved graphics, and there is also a complete conversion of FreeSpace 1 to it, so you can play that of FS1 doesn't work natively.

Config I got was 2 banks of Stelletos and all avenger primary. The Athena is actually really good at dogfighting just gotta out or you'll get swarmed.

Lol his wingmen were trying to destroy the Taranis. I got nailed by one of those Shaitan bombers by an interceptor, and i ended up dying in the end because of that one interceptor missile :(

Well, Terran and Vasudan commands were never able to establish contact with the Shivans. For that reason, the GTA and PVE called named the Shivan ships anything they wanted, including the "Shivan" species itself.

I guess the Hindu gods had the most devious-sounding names.

It was really annoying at how crap the Athena really was. No Interceptor, no Hornet, no Prometheus. You had to be a good dogfighter to get the best out of it.
