FYI, for all you guys bashing this vid or idea, it really is only meant to show you the concept of a sharp IR sensor radar. The person who made this vid created the radar from scratch - including the programming. Like to see you do that.

it's a good idea for new drivers because if you have that much space to park a car and can't do it u suck.

Cars don't need radars since they have bumpers, but that home security application is interesting.

Euhm I dont know if I'm missing something here but (in Europe?) we already got a lot of cars that are fitted with parking radars. It even displays the distance to the object and starts beeping all the time.

hmm... radar has been around fer like 50 or 60 years. i dont see personal radar that far away. there needs to be a better product than this though.

This is a good idea and a much cheaper solution then a car that paralel parks itself.
