What is to be said about the water displacing the flamable liquid inside the smaller beaker causing it to spill out into the bigger dish and thereby creating larger surface area, thus provideing a bigger fire?

i just found this out the hard way i had no idea what greek fire was... i mixed nail polish remover and alcohol together in the sink and wen i lit it it was a little to big so i turned on the sink to put it out but instead it crew massive! any chemical mixture can create greek fire. being that the two chemicals and flammable, so when your doing this do it outside away from houses. i think the more flammable the 2 chemicals are the better (or worse) the greek fire it is...
that actually not true. it could burn on water, which is why it was used in sea battles. but it's redeeming feature of land usage is that not only is it liquid fire, but when water was added to put out the flame, a chemical reaction occurred and a massive flame was the byproduct
