Nice. I was playing back through it last night and did it without the grapple beam differently -- in the first jump, where you used the speed booster and a wall jump, I froze one of the enemies and used him to jump up there. However, I was almost dead when I actually got the X-Ray Scope, so I had to sit there and kill the flying guys over and over to get enough health to make it back over the spikes.
@KilllerX Yeah, that's definitely an option. That move is one that I learned a couple years ago, but I never really got the hang of it and wasn't used to using it, so you won't see me using it in any of my videos (intentionally, anyway).
However, since I need a new instructional video to do, I might take another look into it, practice a bit, and make it part of my upcoming comeback (I haven't posted a video in way too long).
Normally at this point in the game, you don't have the Space Jump since it's normally needed to get through Maridia, so I just left it out. It wouldn't be worth uploading if I used the Space Jump.
I've never actually seen that done. If it truly is possible, it would take a whole lot of luck manipulation to get energy from the grabbing guys (their name escapes me) and bomb jump through a lot of stuff. Definitely the biggest threat in your described situation is the one tank-limit. If it takes all that work to get it early, I don't deem it worth it. Thanks for the idea though. I may make a video like this if I'm able to devise a method.

couldn't of you used enemy spiking (damage spiking) to throw yourself farther with each hit you take so you get past this part faster.
