for a please... you are supposed to say it on your chest not your upper near shoulder.
for good morning, you are supposed to use your palm just like you used GOOD sign language, same for good night, but you are supposed to go all the way down over your hands
you got to check your signing before you post youtube. you are offending us deaf for sure!!
@tpolk21815 They said they're not professionals and not to take anything they teach too seriously, no need to scold them... (unless you actually ARE deaf and didn't hear them say it, in which case I'm sorry, but still no need to be rude...)
Yes, Im deaf, otherwise, I wasnt trying to be rude here, I am actually telling do the right way. Like I asked I wanted to know where they learn these signs. They are actually trying which is GREAT, but posting on youtube is kind of offending and spreading the viewer the wrong signs which is outreagous!! Its not acceptable. I just wished they had professional to be taught before posting on youtube. PERIOD!!
Could anyone help me...i'm trying to learn sign language and i learnt the alphabet from another video, but the movements are different for the ones she did for her name...? This may be a stupid question...but like...what's up with that? Is there the other one wrong?
You have the sign for "you're welcome" wrong. You use that for like inviting people. If you wanted to say "You're welcome" in reply to "thank you", you would sign "true," "no problem," or "nothing to it." You were also off with "thank you." It's more fluid if you put your hand flat to your chin and lowering it straight down, not in an arc. :D
Is it crucial that you fingertips start at your mouth at the beginning of "thank you"? That gesture looks like an obscene gesture (I don't remember which one) that people do, except it starts at your throat, and you move the back of your hand toward the other person.
1. Very nice, but one thing I maight point out if you don't mind. You need to use facial expressions, if you don't sometimes people wont be able to understand you. You may feel as you said "creepy" or "weird" But it's perfectly normal. (: Good job guys (:
"Good" comes all the way down, and if you really wanted to make it clear, have your dominant hand come to rest in your nondominant one, palm up.
"Thank you" just kind of stops in midair. It is also a little more centered.
If you mouth words while you speak them, and use the signs in the correct context, a deaf person, or anyone who knows sign language for that matter, would be able to tell the difference.
@ronaslmo I should note that I try not to do the "poses" I mentioned, but once in a while even I catch myself doing something. For example: I used to have a "bad" habit of lacing my fingers together while watching other signers, and my students picked up my "bad" habit, so I had to correct that.
you guys should really take a class or something cause you missed a lot, and it more then just learning the words, there's sentence structure.then theirs nmm(none manual markers) with that it mostly bodylanguage and facial gestures but i too much to put into a 2-5 min. segment, i know you said your not pro.'s but maybe leave it to the pro.'s. sorry if sounds harsh.
@bigbinch yeah you're right... Sentence structure is different and these signs are a little bit confusing.. It's honestly hard to teach sign unless you've actually communicated with a deaf person.. Because you don't understand the things that are most important. Without facial expressions and eyebrows some deaf people can't even understand!
Nice vid.! Now ? Does It Matter which hand you start off with, like if youre left handed or right.?? and do your hand goes on your stomache for any of these cause you also have your hand on your stomache for please..?
@onewayroad1 that is because in differnt location the signs are differnt but in this case it was just not the best, they unsed many locations instead of one. and did the almost all wrong
@ronsalmo No, it's just a personal pose. Some people have a habit of folding their hands together after words or sentences, and others simply drop their arms to their sides for whichever hand is inactive at the moment. It sometimes just depends where they are comfortable. None of these are "wrong" really, though can be confusing or distracting to a person not used to seeing it happen. In my experience, styles can vary as much as vocabulary habits.
@Jimcrv The second gesture in "good morning" looks like "up yours." If they're different, what is the difference? I'm not trying to be funny. I just want to make sure I don't say something obscene when I try to say good morning.
@spinemelter2000 the only difference is that you have your left hand fist closed when you bring your arm up. But I kinda think it's a thing from my country.. or an european thing in general, not sure... but I think you won't have problems with it, don't worry xD
I wanna ask where did you learn these signs ??
most of the signs you had done is WRONG!!
