omg! I REALLY LOVE YOUR HAIR!! I have a question! Were the curls created ONLY from the flat twists you did or did your hair type help it? I love curls in my hair but I'm going natural and I remember when my hair was REALLY THICK as a kid. I'm talking comb teeth breaking thick. Do you think my thick hair will create this look as well? Please respond! Thank you :)
Tanisha, Your hair looks beautiful. Are you just unhappy with the length? Because it doesn't look frizzy, just curly. You and I have the exact same texture and length
I think it looks cute, the definition is great. Ive been considering getting this product (smooth and shine ORS) but im going to hold out becuase it seems to be better for relaxed ladies from what ive seen/heard
Hey MsTanish1, just added you to my subscriptions! What would you say is the advantage/disadvantage of flat twists with two-strand twists versus just two-strand flat twists by themselves? THanks! :)
girl, I wish I had come across your videos before I cut my year and a half worth of growth off and got a relaxer, then cut that off and had to start from scratch :( my texture is very similar to yours and I couldn't do a thing with it. ya live and learn I guess
I actually think your hair looks good like that but I have natural hair too and I know how it is when you are trying to stretch the hair out to its fullest length. I air dry for 1 hr and 20 mins then I use raw shea butter and two strand twist (small to medium size twist).
Wow it turned out really PRETTY!!! I acutally use the ORS Smooth and Hold Pudding and it's good for smoothing a ponytail. I've also used it as a wash and go product it causes my hair to curl, however when you first apply it to wet hair it turns your hair white....but it dries clear. Give it another try, I'm pretty sure you'll like it. :-)
Looove you hair!! Im growing out mine now BC in dec. Ive never really had long hair. Guess it has been damaged all my life! But I keep my hair in a weave for now. You are an inspiration I hope my hair grows out as thick as yours!!
good video...keep them coming..You said you didn't like that product for your flat twist. So what do you use that you like?.. I have the same excact hair and I am having trouble finding one.
Your hair really did turn out nice. You can rock either look (stretched or shrunk) but I know how it is when you have preference. Natural hair and new products are always full of surprises. LOL!
@BNFocused Girl that blow dryer is 5 years old. The brand is gold n hot. It only has 4 settings and I alternate between cool and medium. My hair hates high heat from the blow dryer.
It may not be exactly what you were aiming for the the results are still very nice. You gave me an idea with the flat twists. I have a twa but I think I can tweak it to fit my short hair.
That's what I need;a blowdryer with the comb ! I'm going to have to get that big detangling comb as well. I just took my hair down this week from my old crotchet braids to get them redone and can't believe the length I have! I have been natural for 2 years and love it. Thanks so much for sharing this video. Love the hair and jewelry.
Wow, your blow dry seemed so effortless. Mine is MUEY work!! Who trims your ends? Do you do it yourself? Your hair seems so even. I need mine trimmed ASAP before I put this color in the front. Loving that RING and the earrings!!!
@BrownFaceTV I trim my own ends. I know you hate mini twist but they can be very helpful. I trim when I do them and it gives me a chance to monitor anything that be going on with my hair. I currently don't have any knots because I cut them all off when I did my mini twists. And as far as the color goes, be ready to deep condition very often. In my areas of color my hair is dry and very resistant to water and products.
Hey hun nice..Vid I'm not being rude at all I just want to give a couple of tips to my natural hair sis...Next time use a cotton shirt because it will help absorb the water better than the towel without adding frizz..It helps me a bit....Oh oh yeah how is the pudding I wanted to try it??
I like the way your style came out. I think we're hair cousins, so it may work for me. Thanks for showing your method. I'm going to try it with the Afro Veda Hemp Seed styling product, though. I like mine a little more weighed down too. Thanks for sharing.
I blow dry my hair every 2 wks with no problems. I wash & condish every wk, & DC twice a wk. I try to always make sure my hair is well moisturized & for styling my hair likes oil based, heavy products. I've been using CD loc butter & I love it (thanks for that!) Anyway, great vid!
I blow dried my hair yesterday and it felt gross! I see that you added olive oil....does that help when trying to blow dry hair straight, your hair is beautiful by they way!
I truly understand when you use a product that you think will work and not shrink your hair, I felt like that when i used Miss jessie's curly pudding. I was so disappointed and mad because i spent so much money for it and it made my hair hard and it shrunk up so bad, so what i did was i added conditioner, and shea butter and with me using the banding method my hair came out so soft (i didn't blowdry, i did on wet hair).
@Niafloda If my hair is not in a protective style I wash and deep condition one a week. I deep condition and prepoo because I have color in my hair. Having color is a little bit more work in the area of washing and conditioning.
I love the finished product. Nice blow drying technique. What product do you normally use for this style that doesn't cause shrinkage? Thanks in advance, your vids are great.
@rockthenatural Flat twists don't usually last more than two days with me. After that I will puff it for the remainder of the week. I moisturize daily with my shea mixture or olive oil.
Thanks for the video. Very helpful for neat and painless cornrows. I will only do it for cornrows cuz the comb is not wide enough and you have to put it trough so many times. It might break the hair.
My technic: I Undo one of my 6 twists, squiz it with a paper towel and pull it at the tip in front of the fan till is is dry (3 to 5 minutes ). my 2 hands are free to hold the hair from the root and tip Result: Quiet stretched but not as straight as yours and shrunken unpartable roots still.
@ExcelAndBeExcellent I was my hair in sections, I condition in sections with twists, I wash my conditioner out with my twists still in. If my hair is stretched I won't get knots. If I don't play in my hair to much I won't get knots. If I feel a knot, I immediately cut it off with the scissors.
When I blow dry my hair I basically can't use any product with water in it or my shrink QUICK. Lol. I usually just use olive oil and leave it be. I think your hair was cute though!
@beguiledchild I usually do the same but I was so excited about my new product. I didn't want my hair so oily since I had already blow dried with olive oil. Plus that pudding smelled so good :) but that was not smart to use a water based product after blow drying.
