The power is increased as shown but the burning range is limited. I use mine to kill squirrels in my subdivision. It's too populated to use a .22 rifle and the noise would be unacceptable anyway. This will blind them causing death within a day or two, but you have to be within 30 feet. Fortunately the squirrels causing the most nuisance are rather brave and I can get close enough if I move slowly.

What I didn't tell you was there have been two fires in this apartment complex in the last year.. both due to squirrels chewing and tampering with the wiring to outside lights. The last fire killed a 4 year old from smoke inhalation, so you'll forgive me if I'm not sympathetic to your cute cuddly little friends. They're a nuisance and this is the least interruptive method I've found to deal with them. It works too, as I don't see as many around anymore.
