I too have some degree of scepticism about the supposed motive, but you can't expect normal logic to apply to people who are unstable enough to commit those sort of acts, My view is that if she was unstable enough to do this it would not have to make logical sense to anybody else. video should start linda carty is a person BORN in ST KITTS yet despite never visiting england claims to be british. Linda Carty actually forgot to mention this when arrested which to me seems rather strange considering she remembers it after being sentenced to death . Reprieve gloss over facts like this and use idiotic writers to spout "ENGLISH" and "GRANDMOTHER" to pull at the hearts of other idiotic do gooder dooshbags.

As to Carty I need only quote wiki - Originally from St. Kitts, Carty has lived in the United States since the early 1980s and holds British citizenship as the island was still a British colony at the time of her birth.
If you notice the reprievers make a big deal as if she was from the bloody east end and a true brit but this is NOT the case.

@Lronsjetpack Reprieve aim to provide effective legal representation to those who haven't received due counsel. They're not a campaign organisation like Amnesty International. They don't organise marches nor do they gather signatures on a petition. That isn't their modus operandi. Is that what you were expecting of Reprieve? Besides, executions are so rare in India - unlike America - no one has been appointed to replace Nata Mullick, who died last year.

@Lronsjetpack Firstly, I'm not a shill for Reprieve. The only trumpet I blow is my own. Secondly, can you give me some examples of Reprieve's 'double standards' & glossing of 'the facts.'. Thirdly, under the Bilateral Consular Convention (1951) it was the duty of American authorities to inform the British Consul of Linda's arrest. This would have had to been done even if Linda opposed such a move.

@Lronsjetpack No effort was made to establish Linda's nationality. Arrest; arraignment; pre-trial & trial. Linda's solicitor: Jerry Guerinot, has 20 clients on death row. That is more than any other defence lawyer in the US.

Regardless of Linda's actions, the American authorities were bound under law to notify the British Consul. The British Consul have been aware of Linda's case since 2002, so how's that using the 'Brit angle as a last ditch attempt'?

Thank you mlc2005 another sensible person not buying into reprieves crap arguments based on their get a brit off the death row hook.
I also extensive looked into the facts behind this case and came to the same conclusion of overwhelming evidence. Notice how none of them DARE enter into conversation on the facts of the case and all run and hide at the prospect of entering into an argument on this one.
Bravo to mlc2005 I think the resounding silence of reprieve sums it up.

I agree... I'm not hearing anybody talk about the woman who was brutally murdered and her baby stolen, the DAY she came home from the hospital. The evidence is overwhelming that she did it, and the people here should be ashamed. I guaranteed you that they know very little about the facts of this case, they just don't like the death penalty. If you type in 'linda carty court gov pdf' on your search page and click 'Appendix A' youll find the court case details - witnesses, evidence, what happened etc.
Please read it if you're interested in this case; it's a perfectly safe, legal government PDF document link, not a website with bloody adverts and stuff!

@CelticPride89 I'm an American and even I witness their indifference at incidents such as this when they should be alert and respond as a community nationwide, but their indifference is mind boggling and outrageous when there is a moment of injustice being met out that should be rightly stood up against. They are too busy trying to profit from oil disasters that the Americans, themselves, contributed to the world ecosystem.
