  • Härligt att se Dr.

    1:an flyga :)

  • Excellent ... takes guts to fly that thing

  • The landing was amazing.

  • GREAT!

  • dutch planes are the best!!!

  • you can tell its a proper rotary by the sound

  • someone should seriously paint their fokker red...

  • Does he have and actual OBER rotary engine in this aircraft?? It was a little hard to tell from the video, but it did look like the engine rotating with the prop. If so I'm very impressed. Many replicas of this great machine have more modern stationary radial engines. Anyway a great job on this plane and the video.

  • @mgwilliams1000: Why don't you put your question to the SFF's forum (The Swedish Aviation Historical

Society). Search Google for "SFF forum Sweden" and you wilo probably get a good hit. As I understand it the

    enginge is a rotary.

If you buy TeamM's DVD "Air Show Special 2009" you will find quite allot of Mikael Carlson and his flying machines, including the Dr. 1 "Dreidekker" and his crossing of the English channel 2009 with his "Blériot XI". /Tille, TeamM

  • @TilleTeamM Thank you! I will do that.

  • @mgwilliams1000 The engine on this aircraft is a 110 HP LeRhone rotary. The Oberursal is actually being re-engineered by a group in New Zealand.

  • @kfsipdog Thanks for the info! I'll keep my eyes out for it.

  • @mgwilliams1000 TilleTeamM has moved to another location on the YouTube. Search for "addfilmmedia". The reason for this is that I have lost the posibility to log in to the TilleTeamM account. Regards./Tille, TeamM

  • @mgwilliams1000 yes it is a rotary engine

  • That is some smooth flying.

  • Fantastic vid!

  • how cool is that!!!i I have to wonder what kind of lift and turning radius it has??

  • how cool is that!!!

  • beautiful plane!!

  • I initally didn't think this was a rotary hard to see but a radial would have been ok, but I wish these builders would put more research into the MG installation. This one does not have the clearly visible belt chutes or spent cartridge trays that were used on all DR 1's and the MG 08/15 type is the wrong one for the DR 1 (Dr 1's didn't have the long handled Klingstrom device).

  • Mr.Carlson is a true craftsman,Anthony Fokker wherever he is...is smiling

  • Härligt att sen en sån maskin i luften.

  • Beautiful airplane!

  • great plane!

  • WANT!!!!!!

  • aparently this plane only had 2 throttle settings, is this true?

  • I saw this programme a while ago about the arms race regarding aircraft. The show went all the way from the fokker dr1 to the x22 raptor. Anyway they made the crucial mistake of claiming that the ceiling for the fokker dr1 was 3000ft!! I wish i could remember it. It was on yesterday channel or quest i think....... also are these people in the vid german??

  • @lordlozz1 they are swedish.

  • It's neat to hear the raspy exhaust note of a rotary. It must of been something to try and control airspeed with the 'blip' switch.

  • this is my favourote german plane

  • WWI- Before the Germans were the bad guys...

  • do they use original engines or modern ones?

Do modified car engines do the job?

  • A good time flying

  • fokker hhahahahahahahha

  • Hello all,

The Gothenburg Aero Show 2009 DVD is finished now. On it you will find, among many other things, Mikael Carson flying his Fokker Dr. 1 Dreidecker and a Special Bonus Feature of Mikaels crossing the English Channel in his Bleriot XI, in July 2009! Enjoy!/Tille, TeamM

  • @TilleTeamM Lovely aircraft. Is that one of the kit planes from the States? If it is how long did it take to build?

  • @fireblade211 No, this Fokker is built from scratch, using original blueprints. It´s as close to a real Fokker DR1 as its possible to get. It´s built and flown by Mikael Carlson from Sweden.

  • Wonderful!

Great to see such an accurate copy of the Dr.1.

As near as you will get, as no original survived.

    Thanks from Yorkshire, England.

  • God! Thanks for a non-RC video!

    *****

  • Gunilla Carlson still looks very sexy ... !

  • Lol check out the guys removing the chalks. One wrong move and your head's gone =P

  • i study at fokker school

  • The red baron flies again!!!

  • Sjukt ballt!

Jag läste om detta plan i Illustrerad Vetenskap och Britternas motsvarighet under första världskriget, Sopwith F1 Camel.

Samt om den "Röde Baronen" Manfred von Richthofen.

  • 10 stars!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Johannes Janzen his Fokker. You mayba know when he died and where? In the Years 1980.

  • Älskar fokker dr1!<3 i loveee it!

  • Hej coonyo9,

Då ska du absolut hålla utkik efter filmen "Göteborg Aero Show 2009"! Där kommer Mikael Carlson att visa både sin Fokker och sin Bleriot.

    coonyo9,

If you like the Fokker Dreidecker and/or the Bleriot XI, you must keep a look out for the upcoming DVD "The Gothenburg Aero Show 2009"! On that DVD you will find Mikael displaying both the Fokker and the Bleriot.

    /Tille, TeamM

  • Hey, it farts !!! 1:50 :D

  • Snyggt bygge, som alltid när det kommer från Mikael. Såg den i luften i Dala-Järna i helgen, den verkar flyga fint! Finns film på Fokkern på min sida.

  • Härligt att se ett så fint gammalt plan!!!

  • Awsome aircraft - I love that engine note!

  • Yh, that DR.1 has fully authentic Oberursel engine, that alone is quite the feat nowadays, on top of all that, the plane is full-size replica as well!

  • Exelente Fokker, ótimo trabalho de construção.Parabéns Mikael. digno de um Jasta 6

  • beautiful plane

  • Absolutely excellent job on the Dr1!!!

The group at Tille TeamM should be very proud.

Towards the end of the interview I swear I could hear the prop whine from an electric- powered R/C airplane. Flying wing perhaps?

  • Besides, that "washed out" olive drab finish -with blue under surfaces- was standard finish for all factory Fokker Dr.I. Pilots just added their colors and personal badges to it.

  • Was the paint scheme to resemble Werner Voss' or was it coincidental? At any rate, beautiful machine.

  • It's painted as Johann Janzen's Dr.1 looked in March 1918. Janzen belonged to Jasta 6 within JG1. He shot down 13 planes before he managed to shoot himself down! The synchronization in Janzen's D.VII quit and he shot his own propeller to pieces... He landed safely behind enemy lines and spent the rest of the war as a PoW.

By the way, another pilot within JG1 was named Manfred...

  • Excellent. I am glad to see the rotary live on in such WWI reproductions, particularly with the DRI. Video and audio quality really bring out the rotary experience.!!!

    Viel Gluck, Freunden.

  • i agree about time too

  • Vunederball, beautiful DR-1, love it.

  • How soon we can see the Loop!? Thank you!

  • Seen a few Dr1 but they didn't use the original Oberursel engine. Can you post more videos and show the some aerobatics? Really want to see what this plane can do please!!!

  • Does it use a 110 bhp rotary?

  • Yes, an original. That's the only way to do it! ;-)

  • Waaaoooooohhhhh !!!!!! Can't wait to see it in the air with my own eyes. I have a special affection for the Dr1.

    /AndersP

  • Do a slip turn in it which you can only do with a Dr 1!
