naslund has a legit chance at the hall of fame, probably wont make it but he has 3 first all star team selections and has been a consistent goal scorer for the majority of his career, a lindsay award( pearson) hart nomination , 5 all star games , 3 time viking award winner(nhls best swedish player), sven tumbas award ( tv-pucken best player)
What sets him above the other snipers like Ovechkin is that Nazzy is super humble, you can tell when he scores. He'll celebrate goals and games that really matter, but when it's just an average snipe in an average game, he won't be an a** and rub it in the opposition's face, even though he has a right to.
I can not believe that Markus has not objected to having his jersey misspelled for 20 years... His name is Näslund, not Naslund... Also thought the Canucks would have adjusted this...
This kind of player should be immortals and never retire, lol, it just sucks that time pass so fast and we just recognize how important they are just after they retire....fuck time
lol, what has he has done nothing no stanley cup.To be honest he retired so earley. He could not even play in the new NHL as everyone was skating by him.Sorry there was no passion from him at all.look at players like rod brindmour , francis.Chelios , Steve Y .These guys are true heart and soul players and live to play the game and have won stanley cups.Sorry but to me he was not so great.Ya in 2002-03 he was good but , he had bertuzzi and morrision to help him, after that he was nothing.
Sniper Nazzy, watching you play for the nucks got me hooked. I cant wait to see your number go up to the rafters. It will be a day to remember, Well deserved buddy, Forever a Canuck!!!
WEST COAST EXPRESS I MISS YOU D: Naslund got injured and shit after they split and he couldnt play anymore..i feel bad for him..sort of reminds me of cloutier who also retired early because of injuries...too bad D:
its been forever since näslund played for the swedish national team or represented sweden in a tournament, i would much rather have him in the team than peter forsberg
He is a great player. He never won an art ross but he came 2nd in league scoring 2 years in a row. Best player in the league when he was in his prime.
What a beautiful tribute to the great Markus Naslund; not only a wonderful player but a great person and friend. A real role model for nowadays players. Bravo Markus!
great video man, miss nazzy :( best of luck in life to him. He was a great man, gave the best years of his life to Vancouver, and canucks fans will always be thankful for that.
only a few players in the game have that factor of exlosiveness the thing that makes the opposing team afriad when ever the touch the puck knowing they could make something out of nothing , Cheers to markus naslund one of the few n grat player who had this//// FOREVER A CANUCK since 93 and ever since PS MAY WE NEVER FORGET THE WEST COAST EXPRESS
Naslund was one of those players who had the drive and skill that only great players have unfortunately he went through some rough times and started to loose that drive. Great vid great player great skill not the best luck
@kidjenius Cool prediction, now please tell me who's gonna be our CAPTAIN ?? Im dying to know, I predicted Henrik after he won the ART ROSS, what do you think ??
Naslund is one of the best Canucks ever. He deserves to have his jersey retired, anything less is an insult. It's embarrasing that he got such a cold send off from Vancouver, especially by the fans
i remember so many of these. What a wrist shot. His rivarly with forsberg. To me, the moore hit was the beginning of the end and we all know what bertuzzi did after that. He was really never the same. when he overskated the puck in the shootout, it showed me he needed to move on.
ok so we have some real swedish greats.. Forsberg,Naslund,Sundin,Alfredsson,Lidstrom
All these players contributing soo much and leadership..Forsberg WAS the Avs,Sundin WAS the leafs.. then we have these 3 left that i dare to say ARE the canucks, sens and wings..
What will happen when these players retire?..
seriously.. its so sad really..
A big thanks for taking care of one of the greatest national treasures of Sweden,Vancouver
Sure, no worries. Remember, Markus wasn't a star for his first few seasons. He actually had a pretty rough time when he started out in Pittsburgh. I know him personally, he told me himself. There'll be lots more like him, the early 90's kids are just as good as the '73's.
markus youre the man,any canuck fan who tries to scum him can fuck right off...cool video too,his number will be retired for sure, maybe even hall of fame!!
It is really unfortunate, we had the best team and players and Him and Bert were the 2 top scores in the league but we had nothing for goaltending, wish we could have got at least one cup with them, his jersey sould be retired! GO CANUCKS GO!
i'm not a canucks fan but i think that naslund was the best vancouver player since bure and i think he is under rated but people put a lot of pressure on him since he went to new york and if people didnt put any pressure on him to perform he would put the numbers that he is capable of putting up
Time caught up with him he was a late bloomer...but when he was goood there are only a few who were better .Thank u naslund for picking up a canucks team on its downfall we owe u alot forever loved #19 Markus Naslund

i think that if that steve moore thing never happened then the team would still have naslund and bertuzzi... i miss naslund.. but i think everyone has to agree that in his last season here, he wasnt playing with any heart.
It's sad that there only doing something about head shots now.
