so much potential just fading away week by week. I remember being so excited and proud watching that speech..to see it almost entirely forgotten is quite sad. The whole party just caved in to a GOP minority. Gotta hand it to them, they aren't in line with much of anything I believe in, but they hold steady on their policies.
@kazinazakat HAHA NO...first of all im canadian...second, i've seen to many barack obama is the antichrist videos lol...obviously i would rather him over mccain
obama is no president. he wants to put everyone on the same level. you cant do that. we're not on the same level. theres the people who get out and work hard for the things they have. they work hard so they can plant a seed so their children will grow up and do the same. then theres the low life lazy bums who wont get off their couch and get out and work. they just expect the government to give them everything. so see. you cant put us on the same level
A majority of whites who were conservative and of the religious right voted for McCain while Obamas base was mostly multicultural. The final election statistics showed: 95% of African-Americans voted for him, 67% of Hispanics/Latinos voted for him, 62% of Asian-Americans, 54% of Catholics, 78% of Jewish voters and 70% of gays and lesbians. These may be the same numbers for November 2012 if the Republican party nominate another white candidate whose campaign is again full of fears and smears
its sad that a lot of people don't see his greatness and abilities, I'm glad he is our president. Give him time, he needs to clean up the mess of 8 years.....
@mieswurz I totally agree with you! Although i'm not an American citizen i'm learning a lot about America because i'm a foreign exchange student. In my opinion people don't give him the benefit of the doubt. He has to clean up the mess of 8 years Bush administration. The national debt has not started during the Obama presidency, no during the Bush presidency. To everybody else, give him a chance and judge in 2012!
"Bonapartess' I doubt you bought the change and hope during the election because you're are being cynical as of now. In this speech The Pres. said: "It's the answer, that led those who' d been told for so long, by so many to be cynical and fearful and doubtful about what we can achieve to put their hands on the arc of history and bend it once more toward the hope of a better day." Seems you haven't seen a HCR bill yet and say it's gonna raise a war on the poor. Gimme a Break!
Yes, change and hope. I bought it. And now he's waged war on the poor with insane healthcare reform, and is under the delusion that the best way to cover people who can't afford insurance is to make it mandatory, and when they can't produce money from thin-air, PENALIZE THEM. Yes, that makes alot of sense. It's easier to believe the poor are poor by choice and continue to grease a system designed to cater to the monpolies. Corporatism at it's finest. But boy I bought the hope and change bit.
So your saying the health care system was fine the way it was? not covering the peoplel with pre existing conditions and only covering those willing to pay 500$ deductibles? I understand how it is supposed to work. Yea if your dirt poor and can't afford to pay for it then you can't afford to pay the fine either. But the rest of us that are just barely getting by that need it now can afford it. You can' please everyone all the time I suppose

my family has lived in texas for 8 generations, and have been democrats the whole time, but i am seeing the things democrats are saying about the state i love, and that is causing me to wonder if it's worth being a democrat in a place that my political party hates....i am tired of defending texas when i see hate comments about it.....i just don't think it's worth it. now the democratic party is one less.
As historic a victory as this was and as many people as there were on the day who realised how profound an event it was I truly believe that we will be a ways down the road before the real impact is felt in historic terms. I believe that in years to come when this event is put into proper historical context it will genuinely be seen as a mark of the ever evolving greatness of a relatively new nation still defining itself at home and abroad and still willing to do that. Progress over stagnation
That smile at 0:29 was priceless. I tell you, here we have a revolutionary leader, ready to change and pull America through one of its most difficult economic times.

Of all the pitfalls Obama might face in the presidency, here is one not many people predicted: He is struggling as a public communicator.
The sluggish and unsteady response to the uproar over AIG bonuses highlights a larger problem of his White House: Obamas surprisingly uneven campaign to educate people about the economic crisis and convince Washington and the broader public that he is in command of circumstances.
seeing their family is just as inspiring as his words ... while fashion is totally unimportant, it is so precious to see that his baby girl is not only holding his hand, but covered in the same fabric ... such hope ... god speed
Obama believes in Separation of Church and State, as any responsible leader does. Besides, not everyone believes in God (lack of evidence), and we are a pluralistic society, and must respect the rights and beliefs of everyone, because thats what they are, BELIEFS, not TRUTH. BELIEFS have NO place in Government.

well perhaps in Part 2 B Hussein Obama gives due Gratitude to G*d Almighty ?
After all he is a Christian, or so Mr Obama says

God forbid YOU should ever share a name with an unsavory character.
I'm sure he's plenty thankful to God, but he doesn't feel the need to announce it. Did you miss the end where he says "God Bless America"?
BlowsRaspberry 3 years ago
BlowsRaspberry to what 'unsavory character' are you referring?
I sense you feel offended--need to defend Mr O.
tell me about that...

It's unimportant, there are plenty, but Katherine Knight is an example of a Katherine with a bad reputation.
I sense that you feel horny..need to express your sexual frustration.
Tell me about that..
Kidding, but that was about as random. Obama doesn't need defending, his character speaks for itself.
