He's right. Competition while it could be beneficial to the buyer, encourages people to become corrupt, and to lie, to get on top. You cannot trust people to be honest and ethical in the face of failure. Competition drives people to succeed, and while some people may be ethical. it's VERY likely that someone who is in competition with the ethical will not be, and become corrupt to succeed.
