It's the thing, you spend the entire movie with him as the bad guy, it finally gets to the end, and the good guy kills him, and you get a momentary feeling of 'Yes!!' then you get to see this man's dying moments, and suddenly it feels somewhat hollow. The most noteworthy point of the entire films.
@falloutshit Yeah but at 0:42 about he drops the gun and rips open his shirt with both hands, the weird thing is where did the apple come from more than it being in his gun hand.
Barbossa' Dream: Lifting the curse, will have a fabulous prize pirate bride and that he will live happily ever after as a very rich rogue. Sadly, doesn't work out like that as a villain..
He's dead but don't worry, he has an epic comeback within the last few seconds of the next movie, and kicks total ass in the third- I would go on about the fourth but I have yet to see that yet
this scene shows, how, barbossa suffers his condiction of not-dead, and how, for him, the death, has been a liberatory event....in the end, he can feel something, like he never felt before....
@McAwsomeBurger are you kidding? the other POTC movies wouldnt be half as good if they didnt bring barbossa back. imagine the other pirate movies without barbossa.
He killed Will's father, left his captain to die on an island with a bottle of rum and a pistol with one shot (to take his own life) all for the sake of gold. After which, he promptly discovered it was cursed. He deserved it.
ya. the song that plays when he dies is called "uderwater march" and the song that plays during the fight is moonlight serenade or "he's a pirate" the fight begins with moonlight serenade though
It's sad because I believe, back in their youth, Jack and Hector were good friends.

10 years you carry that pistol, now you waste your shooot... I feel.... cold. :(
best scene in the movie, even though Barbossa is my favorite character.

This is probably my favorite dramatic scene in all three movies, with Davy Jones' death at a close second.

I love this scene...but since you could hear him dropping his sword and pistol...how did he hold the green apple?!

the death of Barbossa is the most emotional scene of the whole first movie.. well, that`s what i thought.. i got tears of pity when i saw him dying..

to fail just when victory is within grasp, there is no greater pain in life then that.
barbossa waited 10 years to be human once again, and the moment his wish is granted, he loses his life; even a pirate dont deserve a fate like that
