@iamahermit Quite possibly. At the end of the Co-op campaign you open up a vault containing previous staff members in hybernation. GlaDos seems quite happy about that and concludes that testing will begin shortly. As for @VideoGameMaster2011's comment, I'd like to say; you don't think that GlaDos has blueprints of the portalgun? Don't you think there's more than one? So all of those people that tested and died before Chell was awakened had to take turns using the thing? There's money in Portal3.

(short version) Wheatley took GLaDOS's body to get you out, but then wanted to keep you in the facility for testing because it made him feel good, and because you didn't comply with the testing and kept trying to escape he just decided to kill you.
