Absolute nonsense! If you can't give a talk without causig the audience to remember what you said in the middle, then you are a hopeless speaker. Introductions and conclusions are, as is mentioned here, vital to do well, but the bulk content is what people are after. I have heard talks from literally 10 years ago where I can tell you what was said in the middle section. I have given talks where over a year later Ive met people who can remember them in detail. Dont talk drivel scott!
