I am glad they made it out safe. I was listening to their rescue. It was amazing. Douglas County worked so hard for all the rescues, and for them to try to find roads, and safe ways to put their boats in were amazing. I am glad they made it out safe. And for the 25 years I have livd here I always thought there was 3 stilt house's . LOl their were only 2. I was glad to be corrected on that. And I hope they were able to save some of their stuff and their car. So sad, my thoughts are with them

Had a friend that LIVED in one of the stilt houses, the one that's not in front of ball park.Her & her family got out I think by boat.But they lost everything.God was with them..

the flooding at moubnt vernon has always been bad, but it has never consumed the stilt houses. I am very lucky that we only suffered from a washout of part of our fence from a creek that was dried out and came back to life. It was strange to see water over I-20 too. That was wicked. Did you see the other video I shot when it was all flooded.

That part of Mt. Vernon floods all the time anyway, so I figured it would be pretty bad this time. I live near Skyview & it sucks that the bridge is out there, too. Did you have any damage to your house?

no, only the back part of my fence got washed out, we have a creek in the very back of the yard and thats why it got washed out.

as of 5 Pm September 26, 2009, We have heavy down pours and the roads and Woodrow Wilson is starting to flood again.........
