Is a bit funny that this type of music you will not are gonna hear in even one place of the basque country but always when you go to spain you think there are gonna be paella, flamenco and toros. The ideal mid-size, quintessential European City. Has beaches, a river flowing thru it, the architecture and compactness. A bit too conservative as resorts go. Somewhat aloof as Paris is. I blame that on sometimes overwhelming tourism.

I´m from San Sebastián, but we aren´t all the day eating, only the Saturdays XD.

If you come here, you will be welcomed.

But if you want to eat excelent food (for example in the arzak (he appear in the video)) you have to take with you a BIG wallet.

La sidra es mala, parece orina. Los precios de los pintxos? carisimos la higiene brilla por su ausencia, en el mercado de La Bretxa dan pescado congelo por fresco. Lo mejor es pillarse un bocata o ir al McDonald´s. Las sidrerias son muy caras (que raro) y además toman por tontos a los clientes. En fin, este es un País...muy sui generis. Precios exhorbitados y sueldos más bien mediocres y políticos mediocres en una cultura mediocre. Pero Francia queda cerca ;-) eso es lo bueno.

the fact that a few hundred republican soldiers died during the civil war in Gernika is no excuse to take revenge on the spanish people of today 70 years later. It´s time to forget and look at the future. What happened in Gernika happened in many towns across Spain. After all it was a war, things like that are inevitable in wartime. Well the germans does his apologies to the basque conuntry, but the spanish gobeberment and the "ultra derecha" española not. In fact they are wery proud of that, and sometimes they said that the killing was made for "the reds". Yes man GAL killed civilians, and also "cristo rey" "el batallón basco español" and many others. Gernika wasen´t a militar object, they that people cause they were basque and to taste the german war planes. ETA sucks, but tell all the people the real story man.

It is a nice documentary, but I still dont see the distinctive Basque culture here. Good food, esspecially fish, is also valued in other parts of Spain. And the EU is not putting the fishing quotas down to hurt the Basque, but because the seas around Europas are hopelessly overfished. So this Basque fisherman lamenting about Europe and how he is drying up inside should go to Uni and study how ecosystems work.

Nationalism is not better just because it comes from the left side, dear Al Jazeera.

@Bennsen26 In a city its dificult to apreciate some diferences, what distinctive culture has Berlin, you eat sausages? compared to london? they eat fish and chips? in San Sebastian they eat pintxos? well ! The txokos I think is another thing you can´t see everywhere... Fish apreciation you can see in all europe. Fish quotas ! Well you should know that basuqes have few harming and very sustainable fishing tecniques compared with other regions harmfull ones but we pay the same quota...
