Hah I never get over this. As a true, nonnative Austinite, who has lived here for 8yrs, doing my part to keep up the good vibe, I'd say that one reason this city rocks is because, for the most part, we aren't always so judgmental. Sometimes it take getting out of a city to really appreciate a good thing. Austin isn't cool because you were born here, its cool because we don't have to be too cool for skool to actually be interesting. Maybe try NY. Maybe THEY will be impressed you were born here.

It's never been "Guadalupay" and it NEVER WILL BE. It's Guadalupe as in 'loop'. I'm an 8th generation Austin (since 1836), my family was some of the very first ones here and it is 'loop'.

And it's 'Burn-it Can't You Learn-it", and NOT BurNETTE Road.

The stuff they say sounds like the 19 year old transplants from California and New York, not real Austinites.
