The only problem with this camera is the manual. There is a paper one in the box but it's pretty basic. The full manual is a pdf file on the disk so if you dont have a computer (and some users won't!) then you'll have to ask a friend to print it out for you. But be warned its 179 pages!
If you dont have a computer, and u get a DSLR, why the hell would you not just get an SLR, since the whole point of DSLR is dealing with the photos through a computer!
You dont need a computer because you could always go to the high street shops where you can find a machine that will accept your memory card so you can print out the contents on the card.
There should have been a 35page getting started booklet included in the box. You dont really need this though because this information is on the pdf userguide that you'll find on the disk anyway.
I was wondering, do you have any example of photography taken with it on a website? I ordered mine and I want to see some examples of picture quality.
So far I like this cam even more than my Rebel Xti is more mobile and the pictures are just as good as the Xti I will be uploading some samples to my flickr account and when done post the link. Also the video quality is great.

you know how in program mode yo u can set your flash by 1/3, 2/3, 1, etc? +/-
Why can't you do that in manual mode.
And is your max iso 1600?
