I totally agree, and believe it or not i was in the same boat wanting to buy a 17' mbp, however being a very expensive purchase that was a ridiculous idea for not major work. Not that there's anything wrong with buying a really expensive mac but you should only buy one that's fit for purpose. This video did helo change the ridiclous vision i had and since then i bought a 13inch unibody and i couldn't be happier because the numbers in my bank account are a lot higher :)
I mean sometimes people just really want their applications to open really fast and snappy therefore they buy lots more ram, better video card, and faster hard drives. Some buy a 15 inch instead of a 13 inch so that they can see things better. I'd ask that person their reasons behind buying the model they did. It might answer some questions.
The problem is that I know this person very well and they consistently buy things that they don't need just for show. It's a trend. This video was more of a joke towards the person as opposed to the actual computer itself and why someone would buy one.
That's cool. I just wondered. I mean I understand what you are saying. Sometimes I guess it's like some people have too much money and buy things that they don't even know how to use. Then some of us don't have as much and wish we had that because we would actually use it. I guess though that I kinda got over it a long time ago and let them get whatever they want, lol! So you just gave that Macbook to your friend?
Not to offend here but what it really sounds like is that someone you know bought that nice computer and you are jealous that they have a more powerful model than yours. I'm with you about people buying the correct computer but if they have the money and want to buy a top of the line then what is the hurt in that? Perhaps it's just that you feel you deserve the computer they have and they deserve the one you have. Just trying to make sense out of it. This sorta confused me. Nice videos.
not to flame you or anything, i actually thought the video was pretty funny. but you wouldn't in fact love everyone in the world to use a mac. because despite popular belief they're not virus proof. if macs were the only computers out there they would be just as virus prone as pcs. thus diminishing pretty much their whole appeal
No, I get your point. You are right in that if they were more popular, hackers would have found a way to crack them by now most likely. But my point is..the more universally popular the Mac is, the more money Apple makes and thus, they can continue to develop amazing products.
cait, this video is the embodiment of your personality...KUDOS!!!! it's only fitting that matt is in it too! i think stsve jobs's cancer may metastasize into his brain if that macbook is indeed used just to go on facebook!
Hahaha! Thanks. It really is an embodiment of my personality. Bitterness, rage, an odd sense of sarcastic humor, and obnoxious laughter at random times. Forget Steve Jobs. MY brain will explode if I ever have to see this person with their beautiful computer that they are wasting. You KNOW who I'm referencing :D
Yes, PhotoBooth flips my image. Until I get a better camera, it's all I can record with. Any idea how to flip the image while in record mode? The built-in PhotoBooth "Flip" ability only seems to fix photos not video.
This video was about people who buy big computers to do NOTHING. Your computer is MacBook and for what you do, it's great. You didn't buy a 17" MacBook Pro to do what you do. Thus you bought the right one.
And I know Matt is not perfect so don't worry! :D I'm funny, thanks babes.
no if everybody used macs we would have all the viruses PCs get :(

Thanks for watching. But no I'm not jealous. I could have purchased a 15" and chose the 13" for portability.
