  • Thumbs Up If You Watching This In 2011 :)

  • This is the Indiana group, not the group that now records albums.

  • I wish we had Talent Shows that were half as good as this in my school....

  • Before Glee...there was SNC and Rockapella (And the GrooveBarbers).

  • wow:)

  • If you listen to their other videos enough you kinda don't need better audio quality, you can imagine what they would sound like because you've heard them enough. yes it would be nice to have good quality, but it isn't necessarily needed.

  • Is it just me or are the accustics of the stage they are on, effecting the sound of the performance? I know the quality of the video isn't that great, but wouldn't that add to what people have said about Tyler being flat and sharp. I don't believe he is, but just wondering if the hall might have had an echo that would make it sound like he is. Not critising Tyler at all, because I think he does an incredible job with this song.

  • Is that really Straight no Chaser?

  • Shut it. Without autotune Glee cast is about as good as Milli Vanilli. This si definitely a better version than the new version with Arnel.

  • nice job, but i still like the Glee version better.

  • @Mardenator glees a bitch compared to SNC, did you know that in the show they record the songs first and fix them, then they add the fixed song to the show. p.s. SNC does all their songs originally.

  • From a Journey/Steve Perry fan---Excellent!!!!!

  • i just wish the recording quality was better!

  • OMG this was WAY before glee! SO AWESOME AND AMAZING!!! so much respect for these guys.

  • Hey all you haters i am from Indiana and these people sound amazing they are actually gonna visit my school. All you haters if you think you are better lets hear you sing huh!!!!!!

  • 52 people likes ballsacks 676 likes girls =]

  • how can you not like this group

  • @kennords That was really mean!

  • @fuzor21 I think that's Tyler Trepp. He's currently with the Atlantic SNC...killer tenor. You should look up their version of Hi De Ho with him as the first tenor. It=win.

  • @fuzor21 I think people just pressed dislike because of the quality of the video and audio. But if you look pass that, it's really good!

  • They are awesome!!

  • Step aside, New Directions.

    Straight No Chaser ROCKS

  • go tyler!!!

  • Dear Glee.......... Did you take notes? No auto tune. Just saying.

  • @prettybrowneyes541 +1 for you

  • @prettybrowneyes541 uhmm these guys have nothing on glee live

  • @HotRodExtreme20 I've never seen Glee live. That would be very interesting and probably entertaining. I know that a few of the cast members are great singers. Others are only on the show because they're good looking. I'll see them one day.

  • @prettybrowneyes541 u can look them up on utube . . . they aer great . . . and the non singers there are only three of them . . . they do most of the choreographu

  • @shaneakasper16 Well I guess you'll just have to take my word for it. Or, better yet, ask the opinion of someone that you know to be a professional and they'll tell you the same thing I'm saying. I'm not trying to be ugly or rude, but I don't have to appreciate people who don't even know me trying to discredit me. Ask a professional and then you'll see that my thoughts hold merit.

  • they do it better than glee!

  • @shaneakasper16 As a matter of fact I am a professional. Thank you for asking. I do know how hard acapella is for the untrained ear. If you want to be looked at as a professional, then the quality of the work that you allow to be viewed should be in line with the standards of how you wish to be seen. I still maintain that it was a job poorly done.

  • @wardlem2 You are not a "professional" vocalist if you are 23. Even if you graduate as a Vocal performance major that doesn't make you a professional. Stop with the act. No one cares about what you think about this performance. Get over yourself. Put up a video of you singing "professionally" and maybe you will get some respect.

  • @JatellioIU How are you going to tell me what I am or am not? By definition, yes, I am a professional singer, and even if I wasn't, it doesn't take a rocket scientist to tell that the song in question was done poorly. So once you get your facts straight and wish to have something important to say to me, then I would be glad to have you message me back.

  • @wardlem2 ......says the egotistical guy with enough "knowledge" and time on his hands to think that singling out an "off" performance benefited everyone. No performance is perfect. You have no more concept of pitch than most of the people who commented already (like you said, it doesn't take a rocket scientist), so your negativism is not necessary . I think everyone here would agree with me.

  • @JatellioIU ..... I commented on several of their videos, so I didn't "single" out one as you stated.... So you're dumb! I don't care what you guys think or say, it doesn't change the fact that I've been able to pick the mind of the former choir director of San Francisco State University, and I know that he would agree with me. Yes the video wasn't the best quality, but if you listen for the underlying tone, it wasn't there.

  • @wardlem2 YOU ARE NOT A PROFESSIONAL, if you say this song was done poorly. Any SMART guy would know that the sound qualitly of the electronic used was bad, NOT THE VOICES!! YOU are obviously NOT a professional!

  • @beckstervids17 I am a professional and just because you're ignorant doesn't make that any different. I can agree that the video quality was poor, but the underlying tones of the singers were off as well. You pick the mind of Dr. Byron McGilvray for over 2 years and then you come back and tell me I'm not correct.... then we'll talk.

  • @beckstervids17 Oh and look up the definition of the word "professional". I am indeed a professional, so you can stop trying to discredit me and we can all move on.

  • @wardlem2 You think your professional ha I laugh at your name and professional in the same sentence! Also, we are already currently talking so you lost that battle right there! Last but not least GET A LIFE!!!!

  • @beckstervids17 I actually do have a life, but thank you for your concern. I'm involved in 4 vocal ensembles at this point in my life and have been singing since a very young age. I get paid to do what I do. Tell me again who's not a professional.....

  • @wardlem2 Wow, you have a life... probably not very big then. Just because you are involved in a vocal ensamble does NOT mean your a professional! I have been walking from a very young age, but it does not I have not ever tripped or fallen! Just like you SAY you are a pro, but just because you MIGHT have finished music school and are only 23 does NOT mean you are a pro. I get paid for my job, but that does NOT make me a pro. and I will tell you again, YOU ARE NOT A PROFESSIONAL!!!!!

  • @wardlem2 Dude you're embarassing yourself. Post a video or you're just another poser on the internet.

Till then, shut up and respect your betters.

  • i heard about this band from steiny they rock. i wanted to go 2 their concert last night but i couldnt :( the best a capella band ever!!!!!!

  • Comment removed

  • Do you guys know nothing about music??? The lead singer sharped and flatted so many notes.... I was embarrassed for him. The blend of the backup vocalists wasn't smooth either. Overall poorly performed.

  • @wardlem2 ....are you a professional? Because if so, you should know how freakin' hard acapella is, and this is a sketchy quality video.

  • Comment removed

  • This is the original A Capella "Don't Stop Believin'" before "Glee" did it...... MUCH, MUCH BETTER VERSION

  • @fanowner12 .. Glee never did an acapella version of this song.

  • I saw this on my 'Recommended for you' thingy and I was like 'NO. FREAKING. WAY.' and had to watch it.

  • @srhmr Me Too!!!

  • @kennords Straight No Chaser was founded at Indiana University in 1996. The original group was signed to a record deal a few years ago with Atlantic, but ever since the group was made in '96 they have continued at IU. This group is NOT a poser group (in fact, the lead singer was recruited by the original group, with the Atlantic deal, to join them when one of their members had to leave). SNC has existed at IU for almost 15 years. You are misinformed if you think there is only one version of SNC.

  • @sopranootano18 Tyler is the lead on this song, and he is in the current atlantic records group. He was added in Fall of 2009 when two of the other original members decided to leave. But correct, this was from the spring concert in 2007 at IU by the campus group.

  • @sopranootano18 You're completely right. But you should be more specific to avoid idiots from coming to your page and then getting mad about it. This is 'Indiana University's Straight No Chaser' while the other one is called 'Straight No Chaser'.

Also to @kennords, it is more like a amateur pledge group. As in, if one of SNC's members leave they choose kids from IUSNC. They're like a junior group. Like fraternity pledges.

  • Wow, talk about upstaging. This is at least 1000 times better than Glee's Don't Stop Believin'.

  • who gave this thumbs down????????????

  • Wow this is good!

  • odd question was this on newyears?

  • This isn't the group that has cd's out on itunes, this is the current group at Indiana University.

  • odd quality bett all around very good

  • wow GOOD JOB very nice

  • just wondering if anyone here has the a cappella version of this song...if so...please inform me...thank you

  • your an idiot do you really think these guys are the first do do an acapella version of this or should journey sue these?!! think before comment

  • @ralphyjisheretostay Acappellas been going on for hundreads of years...Its like playing guitar..Jimi Hendrix won't sure you for playing guitar..they won't sure glee for singing..lol

  • horrible sound quality, is there a better vid of this??

  • @TheScottsworth I can't find one.. =( but I want it. badly.

  • is there a good quality version of this song, can someone please reply on this i would really love to find it, these guys are my favourite A Capella group.

  • Is that Tyler Trepp as soloist???

  • God they're good.

  • I agree....I also want to know why people think this is such a bad comment? How is that bad! Its just a statement.

  • at BLdrummer470

    worddddd

  • Fuck Glee.

  • lol

  • Wow! The Brown Derbies definitely have some competition!

  • They should make a guest appearance on the show - they've been in existence since the 90's at least.

  • They broke up from ilke 98 through 07 i think

  • yeah but new members keep joining back up,because they want snc to last forever. its like thier schools tradition XD

  • they are better than anything i've heard... and maybe listening to how they work together with their voices Mygroup and I can learn something new... thank you for posting... Can You Sing?

  • I prefer listening to the UNC Clefhanger's rendition of this song. Too bad this video is such poor quality.

  • ok nobody cares about the disco ball at the top...LOVE SNC!!!

  • Where is Dan Ponce?

  • omg!!i love this song...crappy video but itts amazingg:)

  • this is my favorite song ever(:

journey is amazing. and so are these guys.

  • Yes but the guy singing the solo is now singing with the Atlantic Records Group(original)

  • Interesting enough, he has the same last name as your handle.... coincidence?

  • haha, good catch Jason

  • the cool thing about group genres like this is that its easy to make a score with this ^^

  • this is the university group, not the pro (original) group

  • are these the original guys? i cant tell. they sound great but they dont sound the the original guys

  • im kinda in love with them. especially corey!

  • nov 15 my chior is going im so pumped

  • i get to go see them tomorrow im so excited =]]

  • These guys are brilliant, I would love to see them. But they're in a different country... That's sad :(

  • WOW!!!!

  • Some of the guys sound almost exactly like the instruments!

  • these guys are the ones in the stand by me video at hardees while the original guys are the ones in the "original snc final concert" videos and yes, both are awesome :)

  • the bits of journey songs at the end are awesome!

  • these don't look like the 12 days of christmas SNC

    Still good though

  • They're not, the 12 says SNC are the ones who signed the record deal and were the first SNC....but the university keeps up the tradition of their a capella group being named SNC..

  • These are the guys from Indiana University.

  • GAVE ME THE CHILLS

  • INCREDIBLE

  • i may be seeing them in december in louisville

    IM SO EXCITED! (:

  • you are sooo lucky!

  • TOTALLY LOVE THIS GROUP! Has anyone seen their 12 days of christmas?? Funny!

  • that's when they were the best

  • yeah they arent the origanals

  • this a different set of people from the popular 12 days group.

  • @Pageepooh1203 lol 12 days is so funny with the draedle song

  • @Pageepooh1203 omg ik i was in music calss and we had to sing it and wen he went dreydl dreydl i was like omg wut is this called? and then looked it up omg funni

  • i agree with sopranootano18 i sorta love these boys too.

  • I am quite jealous!

  • I absolutely love the way they make chords with their voices. More beautiful than any instrument.

  • that's acapella for you

  • very nice tenor voice. Very jealous

  • i wish they had a studio recording of this. so the quality would be better. look up the one by glee cast its good too. ive always preferred SNC tho :)

  • needs better quality

  • these guys are amazing....bad quality, but still great as is...

  • So, how does one go about getting a marriage proposal from them?

  • @ashley2091 how about you tell me how it went, so i can do the same :P

  • So, how does one go about getting an arrangement for this?

  • dang can't believe this is all their voices!

  • nice vocals 5 stars

  • Amazing. I love the forever young bit at the end. :D

  • one of the best ive heard.

  • wow...a choir of guys that actually strive to be good. I love it.

  • not very good quality but, i like the tune

  • It's great. But quality... No comment.

  • He's the best singer in the bunch?

  • Can sing the hightest prolly. Most Tenor 1 of them

  • Wish this was better quality, it's awesome.

  • i wish they didn't scream. otherwise it would be perfect. i love these boys!!!!

  • Nice Will Nice!

  • THIS IS AWESOME.

  • i'm sure you can...post your video so we can all enjoy it.

  • haha watever helps u sleep at night

  • soloist is getting WAY on up there. Props to that guy. This is great

  • love the end of this!!!!!! =D

  • wow amazing, huge journey fan, big props to these guys

  • NO! Anoop was in the Clef Hangers. NOT Straight No Chaser.

  • my sister is friends with one of them!

    brian something....

  • i just found out this group existed at IU today and i LOVE them. i come from a high school where we have an a cappella group as well and i just love it.

  • bakings were awesome and the soloist wasnt that bad either

  • Woohoo they rock!!!

  • maybe its the recording but a bit nasal for my taste

  • Makes you see "american idol" for the trashy piece of satan's salty pecker shit it is!!!! These guys r great.

  • Why are there 11 guys in this group instead of the 10 in the snc group??? makes you think what happened to the 11th guy if there were originally 11 guys, well take a look at the video when they sing stand by me at hardees, you may just get your answer at the end.

  • This isn't the real SnC, is it?

  • nope, it's SNC the next generation I believe at IU. The old SNC is putting out a cd though and are in their like 30's.

  • well i think snc is a group from IU so it changes from year to year... the most famous one that you are probably thinking of was the one from 2008

  • Which is the original group, reunited.

  • actually, the original SNC that you've probably heard on youtube (the sing 12 days of christmas) are from 1996 (with a few new additions since their record deal). SNC at IU still exists and holds auditions at school every semester.. but the original guys came to IU and my women's acapella group opened for them. they're fabulous. the new guys are too. gotta love great acapella! <3

  • Awesome job guys! What a breath of fresh air!

  • WOW !!!!!!!!!!!

  • ^_^ i sorta love these guys too :D

  • me too ;D they r absolutely amazing!!!!

  • dang these guys are so ridiculous, I want an a capella group like theirs

  • This is why I love Straight no Chaser

  • my favorite song :)

  • i love the medley ending!
