  • 2003? Can't believe it was so long ago that this was on TV :)

  • halloween and the shining may freak me out a bit,

but 1984 worked it's way into my subconscience, and gave my nightmares for fucking years

  • that lonely water thing has to be the scariest one of all!

  • It seems the people voting for this list are confused between "scary" and "shocking". I mean, Shallow Grave and the ear-cutting scene in Reservoir Dogs were shocking at the time, not scary.

  • from the start some of these scenes are just ridiculous and i don't want to be ''that guy'' but even if i wasn't born the age im in now, i could never see myself being scared of this stuff...the scenes like the one with the rats made me laugh more than anything becuz the acting along with he props was JUST TERRIBLE in a funny way

  • Thank you I love this!

  • Lol some of this is so fucked up

  • children drowning is terrifying!

  • #75 lmao

  • until 64 I was bored, but fun

  • I just wish it had a different host! I f**kin' HATE Jimmy Carr!!!

  • great upload. haven't seen this for years :)

  • Dracula, a representation of the kind vampires i like; sophisticated, charismatic and confident

  • Some of these are just plain stupid and not scary at all. A Prodigy music video? Really?

  • @FVK5o2 This was a British program, so I guess the producers felt obligated to throw in a lot of British stuff.

  • SCARIEST MOVIE......NEVER SAY NEVER AHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!

  • @CODgamer212356 OMG !!!! AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH DX lol

  • It's so interesting seeing the U.K's take on things. Much MUCH more interesting than America's. Over here it's all "OMG FREDDY VERSUS JASON AND TORTURE PR0NZ!!!!!"

*crys* why can't i have all four BBC channels??? :(

  • during that scene from misery i just squirm... i can sort of feel it. ow.

  • @SpyinGirly Lol, I have problems with my feet and ankles, and my doctor told me I could have my ankles broken and re-aligned if I wanted, having reached the age where I can decide for myself. I've seen and read Misery. I politely declined. :P

  • I had such a crush on Mr. Blond back in the day....now what the HELL does that say about me? :)

  • @sharona1981 It says you like a man with wierd ear fetish. :)

  • RIP Dennis Hopper.

  • Thanks for uploading these, been looking for these for ages

  • just watching this makes me want to see a scariest books of all time list . I went through a huge stephen king phase and some of his masterpieces are just ......... terrifying. I would love to see a film adaptation of Duma Key. I know there are going to be a lot of people thinking Im a twat because I suggested this but if they actually bothered to read and appreciate these books im sure they would think differently.

  • @dooloolyman i'm a massive Stephen King fan and agree 100 percent with you Duma Key was a fantastic book which would make a great book unfortunately people who get the rights to his books they are so afraid of censors they they try to cut the scariest parts of them which is why we usually get rubbish miniseries such as IT, the Tommyknockers and The Stand

  • Comment removed

  • @dooloolyman movie not book

  • DAMN I've been searching for this for a long time. Thank you SO much for uploading it.

  • Thanks a lot for this upload. It's an amazing documental :)

  • the presenter is scary too, isn't he? He should take off that scary mask...

  • Why isn't Bruce Campbell the show's host? :(

  • @RosieSquall Because its British made for channel 4

  • Daleks. Scariest fuckers ever.

  • @AtticWarrior1994 I agree! I used to have nightmares about Daleks when I was a kid.

  • Y'all should look up Bravo TV's 101 Scariest Movie Moments of all Time. It came out back in '04, and it's way better than this show. They even had a sequel:101 Even Scarier Movie Moments

  • 6:11 - Oh, you campy son of a bitch, I love you!

  • Oh lord, Cape Fear. The only movie to date that had me on the verge of vomiting. I have such a love/hate relationship with that movie.

  • Dolls freak me out the old German Dolls freak me out and if they use dolls in films it will scare the living shit out of me lol

  • I always love the fact that Final Destination had that great combination of gore, suspense, and stereotypical 90s teen movie. "You're gonna die!" "Shut up Billy!"

  • The Puppet from DEAD OF NIGHT is named Hugo!? That's the same name the puppet had in DEVIL DOLL!

  • @TomMSTie1138

I was thinking the exact same thing. Did Devil Doll rip that off?

  • @ninjawraith17 Dead of Night came out in 1945, and Devil Doll in 1964. There's no definitive proof it's a rip off, but it is kind of fishy.

  • god mark kermodes a fanny

  • Was the first one some sort of stupid joke? Please tell me that it is!

  • @MrTrollzama

It was one of the first movies shown in a theatre I think, where the concept of a movie was still alien to people. Audiences apparently ducked and fleed from the screen because they expected the train to come out of the screen and hit them.

  • LOL. The Doom Watch clip made me laugh so hard!!!

  • Awesome upload man, I've been looking for this on DVD for ages but now it doesnt matter *cough* youtube ripper *cough* :) thanks. Seriously though how long did this take you to upload O_o

  • @Cloud6556 Can't remember now, but have just been killing time anyway going through ancient videos and uploading

  • Thankyou soo much for uploading this, I remember watching this on TV several years ago.

  • "The Thing" (1951) is an AMAZING film!

Bela Lugosi will ALWAYS be Dracula, to me.

LMAO! Day of The Triffids! That looks AWESOME!

"Peeping Tom" (1960) is a BRILLIANT film. So hard to find here in America. I want to add it to my collection.

The Twilight Zone is one of the most BRILLIANT television shows ever made! It was way ahead of it's time.

Arnold obviously got his catch phrase from "Lonely Water" lol!

Thanks so much for this! It's AWESOME! Can't wait to see all of it

  • I saw the same thing but it was the American version. I never saw The UK version.

Thank you so much. This is AWESOME!

  • the house that bleed that would scar a kid for life

  • Peeping tom was an amazing movie and beautifully shot

  • I LOVE YOU

  • This is the most erratic countdown i ever seen

  • 1:25 What the heck!? What movie is THAT monster in?

  • These shows have great clips but are spoilt by the inane warblings of the guests, especially their attempts at humour

  • the 100 Greatest Scary Moments was and still is the best countdown show i have ever seen! what i loved about it was that in the intro they had coronation street in with psycho, jaws and alien!

  • Comment removed

  • the dudes lazy ass eye is frightening lol

  • hated that woman saying ' oh the hulk got bigger and bigger but he always seemed to retain his shorts' you know why woman ; BECAUSE YOU WOULD SEE HIS COCK!! you want that darling a big floppy green Hulk cock in your face?! (would like to thank Simon Pegg for pointing that out)

  • the descent was garbage

  • @lickstickly you're garbage.

  • @BuriedTreasure255 the descent was garbage story was original but to much riff raff

  • #98 should have also gotten on a list of the most horribly acted scenes in movie history too, as well as just fucking retarded...

  • I was frightened by the host=.=

  • I love Mark Gatiss.

  • @hope11ification dude it don't freaking matter what they have going for them if you love them then you won't care

  • @hope11ification not all of us lmao my dad raised me so i don't think i'm superior i think i'm as equal as my lil bro.

I'm a woman. i don't hate men if i did i would hate my boyfriend and i don't. i do agree though most celeb women do say that and i think thats a crock of shit. We need men. can't have kids without em. and we certainly wouldn't have a few things if we didn't need men. But on some point men need us.

I don't think that anyone is or should be superior though. but that's me.

  • 1:00:51

It's okay people, he'll just regenerate into David Tennant.

  • A more appropriate title would be - Roughly 10 scary moments & an hour or so of some old bollocks.

  • Was anyone else scared shitless by the last section of Dead of Night (1945) with the ventriloquist dummy? The rest of the movie did not scare me at all, but I saw it for the first time last year and it freaked me out.

  • @faym1982 If ventriloquist's scare you, i would recomend the horror flick Dead Silence from 2007.... Scary stuff :)

  • @HollywoodWhore17 Will check it out, thanks!

  • @faym1982 You can also check out "Magic" (1978). Also there's a short film called "The Dummy" (1982) which is on youtube. Scared the shit out of me when was a kid.

Both of them are kinda cheesy, now, but they're still entertaining.

  • @faym1982 actually dead silence sucks. watch profondo rosso (deep red) by dario argento. theres a really cool creepy doll scene in that film, even though it is a slasher. youll love it though. great great classic giallo film.

  • @faym1982 Yeah, that segement was freaky. Be sure to check out Magic and Making Contact too as they feature two of the creepiest ventriloquist dummies ever.

  • @TheAltair4 Saw Magic last week for Halloween, VERY creepy doll!

  • @faym1982 Yeah, Fats was creepy as hell and Fletcher from Making Contact is equally as creepy i think.

  • Eraserhead is the scariest movie of all time.

  • OK - is it just me or does the critic Antonia Quirk look exactly like Fleur Bennett?

  • I've seen the American VH1's Scariest Movie Moments, so it's nice to get something similar (but more diverse) that features British film and TV. Also love the comedian commentary.

  • permission to shake ur hand: u deserve it. I've been looking for these for ages

  • Frankenstein is scary because he has absolutely no issue with the creature until he brings it to life. Then he flips out and runs away, therefore abandoning a now living being who could never be accepted by anyone but him. He is a monster through and through. :(

  • John Landis was able to say "fucking" on TV?

  • @AceProductions91 It is the UK. They have different censors.

  • i think mothers day should have been on here the original.. that film is fucked up

  • jimmy carr is xboxahoy

  • its odd seeing robert mitchum in night of the hunter and then seeing him in the longest day but there is no denying he was a very talented actor. actors of today could learn a lot by watching his movies

  • "This classic episode was called The House That Bled."

A bit strapped for clever titles, weren't they?

  • Not bad I havnt seen 1/2 these movies :-o

  • this dialogue is corny

  • £2 isn't bad...

  • When jimmy carr presents something its bound to be spectacular

  • the UK's list is soo much better. Jaws over the Shining? i think not

  • Great example of why youtube is great,I just watched Bravo's 100 scariest movies, now i can watch the UK take, cool to compare the difference how high certain movies rank on each list,as an American I like learning off movies I never heard off on this list.

  • Thanks for the upload. You're awesome.

  • 0:40:33 I'm old gregg!!!!

  • I watched the intro and thought this is cheap not scary. Then saw Alan Carr, well done channel 4, truly terrifying.

  • STARTS @ 3:04

  • Star Wars is not scary, what the hell?! xD

  • adam hills is very funny XD

  • Alice Cooper? For real? Switch that poser with GG Allin then maybe

  • @iceguy0077 ALICE COOPER A POSER? He invented shock rock asshole

  • @elevatorsfan Doesn't mean he's not a faggot, GG Allin is everything that poser strives to be

  • classic 40's 50's and 60's always give you the creeps no matter what they are

  • @Avatar7811 My girlfriend still gets scared while we are watching House on Haunted Hill (1959) when the old lady pops up for the first time

  • The actress from the Stone Tape aged really well.

  • @foodonface nevermind, it is... INCREDIBLY briefly. But it is.

  • @foodonface Yes in part 1 I think but no comments from interviewees

  • @DarkBloodTyrant Huh??!? I think you got mixed up with 'The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen' starring Sean Connery.

  • i wish they did a more recent version of this, theres been a few good horrors since '03, like the descent!

  • @thepastry They did another called "more scary moments" or something like that. It was a list of 30, and included some horror movies that were released after this and some that weren't included in the original list such as Vertigo.

  • @thepastry And hostel, unless of course thats in here. :/
