America proves supreme in EVERY sport: Volleyball, baseball, basketball, gymnastics, hockey, swimming, track and field, long-distance running, boxing, fencing, cycling, etc. Now, its starting to gain ground in football. Personally, I'm against that. Simply, because every time America loses to Mexico or Brazil, I don't see America as the underdog.

What kind of underdog has a multi-billion dollar training system, compared to say, a Brazilian team forged out of raw talent and polished by famine and the difficulties of life. No, if anything, Brazil is the world's underdog. Yes, America has everything to be a world cup holder; equipment, coaches, training, and maybe even players. But you can't buy the drive and will a player has for reaching the top when he came from nothing.

Yeah, but in Brazil, 21% of the pop. is in poverty/famine. Only 2-3% can actually manage to go on to become "superstars", due to how risky it could be to support a soccer player, versus raising one to a more real/secure/lucrative goal, such as a productive farmer/technician. Read up on Pele's story, on how'd he make footballs out of newspapers and the such. Its really hard to imagine the impoverished as being the "evil opponents", while America can simply buy any coach, and even talent.
