  • Wow this is very nice. Different form the Iwama style of aiki ken. Kind of reminds me of Nisho senseis sword style. The only thing that gets me is how the over exaggerate the kesa giri cut so that they expose the neck. My sensei would have got on us about that. Always keep center line never turn to much to expose vital parts.

  • It is not AIKI-ken !!!!! Not very convincing....

  • The kata that they are doing really reminds me of the basic kendo kata that we do in our dojo. Apart from the throws, obviously lol

  • They probably have the same basis.

  • man, if they covered jo vs bokken. that would be awesome

  • aikiken actually means harmony of spirit/energy through the sword .... bokken means wooden sword.

It's a great display, loved it, it's not difficult to learn once you get the footwork right but to make it as smooth as that needs a ton of practice. Seagal's aiki ken is bloodt marvellous but these guys show a LOT of cooperation

  • Excellent! Thank You for posting

  • aiki ken means 'wooden practice sword'.

    thats not true

  • aiki ken means 'wooden practice sword'.

    thats not true

  • hey make it look so easy......

  • The taijutsu demonstration was wayy more impressive than the aiki ken demonstration, those guys were to tense =/

  • This is Yoshinkan aikido, that's why they look tense.

  • Shudokan, actually, an offshoot of Yoshinkan.
