  • How pretty that girl is!!!

  • thank you so much for introducing wacca. Amazing! I finally can find some good Japanese music ^_^

Thank you thank you thank you!

    ありがとう!

  • Sweet thanks for showing us a site for Japanese free music! I already knew of muzie(dot)co(dot)jp that promoted free music somehow but didnt know that Wacca one!

  • Best background song was Tonik

  • The man can play, can't he? ;)

  • thanx for using Tonik! We really do appreciate the fact that you introduced us to Creative Commons, Wacca, Jamendo, and everything!

  • Hahaa, MATE! How could I not?! aside from being a rocking track, somehow I think it really fits with the vid as well. Thank YOU for uploading it there!

  • Cool! So this means I can upload my music to be used by other people and apply a CC license!? This is great! Thank you!

  • Mate - EXACTLY! I really recommend the worldwide site Jamendo as well, but as a Japanese music site, for me, Wacca is unrivalled. If you upload stuff there, send me the link!

    Peace

  • I'll be sure to. I'm working on getting an opening for my channel and a shorter one for my videos. After I release those i'll be sure to create an account and post the music.

  • Dear friend Hiko, Sorry not comming here before, but my hard drive burn and I lost everything !!!

I'm so desapointed, you can imagine !!

Just pass to say : Merry Christmas to you and yours.

All the best and be bless always.

  • Oh dear!!! That reminds me I need to back up sometime. I'm sorry to hear about your misfortune, and wish you a merry Xmas there in Quebec too!

    Peace

  • Very informative! Another great resource.

I couldn't help but wonder: do you know if the site's name is a funky respelling of "waka"? It made a lot of sense when I compared the way waka poetry was used with how wacca is facilitating music exchanges.

  • I loved the explanation of the name and the site - and I have found it very interactive. The music artists would send me nice messages thanking me when I registered as fans for their stuff, and I've had some good email conversations with them - it is a lot like the live indies scene in Japan where everyone is just very friendly and approachable.

    Glad you enjoyed it!

    Peace

  • Hiko you are the man for letting us know about this!

I do feel its a great way to get music even with overseas users when I do plan to put my stuff out I will have to look into this!

  • Hey man, happy to be of service, and to make music of people like yourself more accessible to geeks like myself ;)

  • Of course my fave is Tonik by Daichen and Shirohige :) ,the only site I use is jamendo (for Now) Im gonna have to check Wacca and the other sites too,Thanks for the info :D

    peace!

  • thanx for your constant support Denitson!

  • Daichen has some real skillz, doesn't he? ;)

Jamendo is of course the creative commons king, but I have found some real gold on Wacca - what is playing in the background here is a small part of that. Check my own channel page there and see the artists I am fans of - they are all good original creative commons stuff

  • You are an endless fount of information on such things! Going to upload now!

  • Hey man, I already fan registered your artist page and will go and slap some gushing recommendations in Japanese on there right after this ;)

  • are you a audio/sound engineer?

  • In a former life, I was a club DJ, so I get kinda deep into this stuff - what I like about being really involved in music with artists is that creative people are always really in touch with themselves and what they are doing - it always makes for really good conversation.

    Peace

  • hey hikosaemon if you dont mind me asking what is your occupation?

  • ...he must be a professional ambassador for Creative Commons and YouTube... I mean, how else would he have so much time to video and upload all this informative stuff! ;-)

  • I like to go by the official title "International Gaijin of Mystery"... :)

  • im going to check out this wacca thing. ^-^

  • You should man, also I have made a quick user guide for the site on my blog so go check that out.

    Peace

  • my favorite bgm was ひよこ豆-タロキチ-18607

    : D

  • Daichen is a great mate, and his track is real quality, but for my personal taste, I agree. That was my favorite track too :)

Also, when I faved her artist channel on Wacca, she sent me a very nice message thanking me right away. I will send her the link for this vid, Hopefully she will enjoy it.

    Peace

  • Oh yeah, Daichen has to be one of my fave j-vloggers. He's great : D

I'll have to look her up on Wacca. I started an account because of your vid : D Spreadin' the word!

  • Man he was so relaxed. He seems like a really cool guy.

  • He was - we actually chatted for over an hour. He has a lot of cool projects like this going on, but I really like how he thought of and put this site together.

  • i try cheking the site but is all in japanese lol i cant read japanese lol

  • Hey man, two suggestions;

    1) Check the English user guide I just made on my blog (link in sidebar)

    2) Try google translation - it isn't great but it should give enough to figure out what's what.

    Peace!

  • Sounds like an interesting endeavour. I wish them well.

  • It is basically Japan's closest answer to Jamendo, and I really hope it grows.

  • I love your videos. That man interviewed seems like a quirky, interesting individual. :)

  • He is a really cool guy - we talked for an hour about all kinds of things, so it was a task to edit, but I think I got the essence in. The site is a great concept.

  • sick man. thanks!

  • Glad you liked it!

    Sweeet...

  • Haha, that girl is very cute. Anyway, looks interesting and something I might have to explore.

  • I highly recommend it - check out my channel page where I have saved some personal recommendations of good music from artists that use creative commons licenses.

  • Very cool video mate. More interview vids would be a good thing.

  • Haha, I'm happy with how it came out but wow, it takes SO much more work to edit and subtitle when the words belong to someone else - you have to show a lot more respect to the content to get it right. Fortunately, Inoko san here was a pretty interesting guy - but this is cut over one hour of talking together. Glad you like it though - I would love to get some more interesting Japanese people into vids like this.

    Peace

  • thanx for sharing bro, sweet as!

  • Haha, that sounds like a written Kiwi accent... choice! :)
