  • wauww man im proud of that the Turks are the Strongest people on tthe world.....Never ever affraid of anything....1 Turk soldier = 80 american soldiers

  • turkey won the war

  • Welcome hahahahah

  • "Those heroes that shed their blood and lost their lives. You are now lying in the soil of a friendly country, therefore rest in peace. There is no difference between the Jonnies and the Mehmets to us where they lie side by side. Here in this country of ours. You,the mothers, who sent their sons from far away countries, wipe away your tears.Your sons are now lying in our bossom and are in peace. After having lost their lives on this land they have become our sons as well." - Mustafa Kemal ATATURK

  • excellent documentary

  • trailer is fine, but movies is so plain, missing, even sometimes one sided.

  • The documentary actually follows soldiers from both The Allies and the Turkish side and is actually quite factually accurate and shows the futileness of this tragic event

  • simple enough; I just do not agree. But neither of us can convince the other so this is a meaningless conversation.

But the bottom line is the need for many other documentaries from both sides for this tragic event. Peace!

  • Too true my friend many soldiers died needlessly.

may they rest in peace from both sides.

I am planning to visit the gallipoli penisula in 2009 having read over 30 books on the campaign I am keen to see what i have read and feel the solitude of the place.

The turks did what anyone would do when their own turf was invaded DEFEND and honourably too.

    peace

  • ooh! believe me seeing the place with your own eyes is a lot different than any movie any book. I visited Gallipoli last year and from the first second I was so regretful about not doing this trip earlier. I can not exactly tell but there was a strange and disturbing silence over those hills. Its feels like some souls are still on those valleys, they are welcoming you and you could see them and all tragedia of the war when you close your eyes. So magical, so touching.Best of luck with your trip!

  • Having visited the battlefields of Belgium and France i know where you are coming from.

I have collected Gallipoli memorabilia for many years and indeed my Great grandfather was killed there and is honoured on the Helles memorial.

I am definately visiting later on this year and am looking forward to it immensely.

Not sure how to plan it yet as i will have to fit in around the wifr "sunbathing"
