hey i was wondering if you got any tips for fishing the back bay near pch bridge i fish the balboa marina of the docks and i was wondering what should i throw at the will jerk baits work and how should i work the bay
@youngfishingboy3333 3 inch Big Hammers are always a good bet. Fish them slow and low right near the pilings and dock lanes. Slow rolling a spinnerbait or War Blade can also be extremely effective!
@REVOinshore Jimmy Decker is one of the best saltwater bass anglers in the world. He is also a stellar human being who I am happy to call a friend. Jimmy spends more time in the bay than most other SWBA competitors, and he is always considered a front runner in this event.
@FishboiFishboi Shimano Curado 300E paired with a Shimano Crucial 711XH. The reel is loaded with 65 lb. Power Pro and I usually fish a 3 ft. 30 - 50 lb. Seaguar Fluoro leader.
And what type of rod/reels are you guys using?

hey Evan, what harbors or places would you recommend to fish for nice spotted bay bass and sand bass
rafasplice222 8 months ago
@rafasplice222 Newport Harbor is always a good bet! There are productive areas in Long Beach and LA harbor, but most require a boat to access

@thebassboyz thanks I'll try Newport

@REVOinshore I met decker in newport while fishing for spotties we caught a couple spottties and halibut and 1 cuda on his dock so it was sick.
Also do you think a 66 quantum energy pt rod medium is heavy enough for calicos and other fish which might bite out of the harbors?
