  • @HyperLeafBlower This is the Ebisu Touge Course. It's a track!

  • @TheChronicRhythm I know what Ebisu is. I was replying to Groovewolf's comment of "doing this all the time if he gets his license"

  • nice inertia drift

  • NFS SHIFT

  • @kiyosisann

  • Gotta love Ebisu!

  • Very nice indeed! B¬)

  • perfect video. as simple as that

  • @tapion123 Is professional stunt driver and experienced rally racer enough technical skill for ya? I'm not saying I'm the best out there, but I have done exactly this myself, and have been critical of myself as well, thereby improving my skill and technique.

  • helal

  • dump! dump! nice and sweet drift.. try to not make it overdrift..

  • @mcciela its the mountins style, you just go with it.

  • ya i'd rather see people drift that know what there doing on a closed course or at least no one is on it than watching dumb asses try it on the highway nice drift too.

  • @sills66 Although on ramp drifts are very cool. I saw my first and only one the other day. FUCKIN SWEET

  • I couldn't really do much better (but I keep on trying...)

  • Dang!

    That was Sa-weet!!

  • O_O

  • no pecha nda é ajaj

  • CUNT GOTS SKILLS

  • @051TOREYES yeah but the cunt can drift with style and you have only a poor 240sx on your profile

  • cool drift video :-D

  • Talk about Guts! Most drift courses seem to be pretty flat. BUT If he runs wide-Down the MOUNTAINSIDE.

  • Ok I know this comment will be cheesie, but trying to DRIFT this course in NFS SHIFT, is fucking hard as hell...but I love course, and love the video..nice drift by the way

  • good

  • dude got skillz

  • Very a clean drift!

  • @Skykid99 wtf are you talking about??? he was sluggish in his countersteer....and kept it going too long...THIS kind of drifting slows you down....I will grant him that it was a decreasing elevation turn, which will instigate the excessive oversteer upon exiting the corner...but nevertheless...if he was truly skillful, he would have eased up a bit earlier and countersteered, so that he could link the slides more smoothly...

  • @darthjader08 im pretty sure THIS kind of drifting is done by your rear touching the outside of the turn and your front hitting the apex and that looked like a perfect racing line to me plus you got a 200whp car and 2 hairpins and a 3rd after going uphill thats a difficult track for anybody like ebisu id like to see you do better just to race those turns you need to be very technical as a driver

  • @darthjader08 its drifting not racing... he is not trying to get around the corner fast as he can... drifting is the slowest way around a corner... he came out wide to get more angle which you want in drifting...

  • @Tj1056 Drifting is the slowest way around a corner huh? How about on slippery surfaces (such as Rally, like Gravel, dirt, snow, wet pavement)? Or a car with a chassis and suspension that doesn't hold the road very well? Or crappy tires that don't stick to the road very well? There are a shitload of variables you're not considering. You're correct in one aspect though: when you have a car that's well set up for traction, such as F1, Grand Touring, Go-Karting, etc. generally speaking ...cont'd...

  • @darthjader08 lol... rally is rally.... this is drift... this is on the road... and yes you can drive faster around a corner then drifting in wet pavement... you must slow down much faster to just enter the corner when drifting then just going through the corner and you have less corner exit drifting then just driving...

  • @Tj1056 If you have to slow down sooner to drift a corner on wet pavement, you're not doing it very well....enter fast transfer the weight just right, feather the throttle and brake, countersteer, and you can exit much quicker. There's a certain finesse to it...

  • @darthjader08 god your stupid... you have to drive at even a slower speed in the wet then dry...

  • @Tj1056 Ummm...I was drifting cars before you were born...so wtf makes you think I'm not aware of that (driving slower in wet than dry)...

  • @Tj1056 ...cont'd.....with a stock suspension setup, you're better off drifting slightly, on the occasional turn (i.e. going for max speed, and hitting the limit of traction so closely that you end up breaking traction and drifting a bit), the only reason drifting is slower is because acceleration out of the turn sucks, also, you start to lose traction as the tires heat up beyond optimum temperature range. For ONE single turn however, a person can ALWAYS make it through the turn faster drifting

  • @darthjader08 "going for max speed, and hitting the limit of traction so closely that you end up breaking traction and drifting a bit" That is called a powerslide... think of it like this... even for that one turn... you will be breaking traction (slowing down) all the way through the turn then out of the turn you will still be breaking traction which will kill your corner exit... while the other person just drives around the corner getting max speed without breaking traction...

  • @Tj1056 No, a powerslide is when you apply excessive throttle to get the rear end out right as you hit the traction limit.

What you're calling a "powerslide" is weight transfer, with a bit of throttle and brakes applied at just the right moment to turn it into a drift. Unfortunately your understanding of drifting isn't very good.

I assume this is a generic misunderstanding among people who follow drift racing....which would explain why there's so much powersliding, rather than drift involved

  • @darthjader08 a drift is where you begin sliding before the apex of the turn... not "going for max speed, and hitting the limit of traction so closely that you end up breaking traction and drifting a bit"... if you are going for max speed for the turn and try to drift you are going off the track... from that sentence you are going into the turn hard as you can till you break traction... that... is not drifting...

  • @Tj1056 Wow, you really missed what I was saying didn't you......Yes, I know that you begin sliding before the apex....when did I ever say otherwise? But, if you had the slightest clue, you'd understand what I meant when I said "going for max speed..." evidently it went right over your head, and I very obviously did NOT say that you're going into the turn hard as you can till you break traction....but I guess you have difficulty conceptualizing such things....

  • @Tj1056 oh, and the purest definition of drifting is as follows:

When the car is in an inertial state in which it is not travelling in the direction the car is pointed, but the direction in which the tires are pointed, initiated by inertial weight transfer, regulated by throttle and braking control.

Whether or not it's prior to the apex is irrelevant, though to drift effectively, yes, it is prior to the apex.

  • @Tj1056 The only reason coming out wide could possibly be desirable is to get more angle for linking slides, which one would only do if they planned on drifting every single corner. So, I suppose, in a way, particularly for his intents and purposes, you're correct. That doesn't mean that getting a greater angle for weight transfer is desirable at all times for drifting.

  • @darthjader08 dude you are a idiot... in drifting you are judged on overall car control, speed, angle, smoke, crowd reaction... you keep talking like he is drifting racing... but he is not... he is trying to get the most angle without spinning out or crashing...

  • @Tj1056 Yes, because drift racing (in which they are in fact power sliding, not drifting) is the be all end all judge of drifting? fuck you're dumb, there are NUMEROUS forms of racing in which drifting is used with precision, as a method to go faster. If he was going for style, then he should have done it with more precision, not in such a sloppy style. If he wasn't going for speed, nor style, what then?

I'm speaking from the perspective of a professional stunt driver and hobbyist rally racer.

  • @darthjader08 of course there are races where drifting comes in handy that will make you go faster... its called rally racing dumb shit... thought you figure that one out by now... but I guess not... now you know so I will leave...

  • @Tj1056 Uhhhh.....considering I've pointed that out NUMEROUS times throughout this discussion, that would make YOU the dumb shit now wouldn't it...I thought you were paying closer attention......but I guess not...now you know...but I won't leave with my tail between my legs, much like you have.

P.S. you still didn't answer the question....

  • How much hp it needs,to do drift like this ?

  • around 230-300

  • depends bro on car, track or touge etc some people have 800hp some people have 400 it depends on your style

  • and some people have less than 200 and drift the right way, instead of just mashing the loud pedal... a proper drift is started with the brakes and proper weight shifting.

  • exactley man good thing about this sport is 250hp ae86 can take down a 800hp v8 :P

at least there is another person here that knows about drifting :)

  • well you can drift with a 150 hp miata either it will improve youre skills much better then starting with a 400hp car :D

  • you just really need speed and you can do that just with 140hps.. with a 240sx with single cam with a real good working engine... you can do that without problems..

  • its best to build up power when u start. Start low and only add more power then u have reached ur maximum. Then repeat.

  • Depends on your cars power to weight ratio, but you don't need a ton of power.

You can drift the non turbo'd 240 Z's and they only put out about 130HP

  • At 0.12 the backfire is trown away...

  • Yup and one of the team orange drifters (forget who) owns/runs it.

  • holy fuck nice

  • That was sweet. Nice and loud and smokey.

  • awesome drift.. very nice
