  • that is 1 small lookin train

  • That is beautiful.

  • nice garden :)

  • NOTVERYINTERESTING

  • I can hardly believe this... It is so realistic, what a great talent you are... I can't believe that engine pulling that many cars... Un-Real,,, Thank You for post this gem...

  • Absolutely beautiful layout and locomotive you have there! I aspire to have a layout like that some day.

  • She's a real beauty!

  • My layout is completely flat. Steam powered engines do not do well on grades unless you have r/c control to adjust the regulator.

  • It is gauge One, 1:32 scale, both sets of drivers are powered. It slipped a few times, just as the prototype would with a heavy load on wet rails. It was all very realistic.

  • @svrronline So I'm assuming that when your Berkshire pulled 72 cars there was no track adhesion issues. Was it on a steep grade? By steep I mean 2% or more.

  • Great video! Is it G gauge? Is it struggling? And is only the rear most set of drivers powered?

  • The train is about 70 ft. If you go to the "Berkshire with 72 cars" video, that one is about 100ft

  • how long is that thing?

  • Slip at 1:27 , NICE thing!

  • That is the Aster loco, as stated in the heading (the Accucraft version will be coming in 2012)

  • Who made it ? Aster or accucraft

  • 100 for sale, 3 for spares

  • How many of these were manufactured?

  • Oh my!

  • Most steam locos can be radio controlled. 2 channel gives you regulator and reversing gear, more channels give you whistle, draincocks etc. Small engines need creative engineering to fit everything in thte cab, but the Allegheny has plenty of room

  • @svrronline this is a very beautiful locomotive

  • Nice! I love how you loaded it up. Most live steamers seem to be tiny tank engines pulling 2-3 cars and running full speed without load. Could you make it radio-controlled?

  • The loco is probably very expensive , but what did 42 coal wagons cost? Phenomenal

  • gawd that is gorgeous!........

  • They still use this loco in America and they use it exactly how this train is set up.Amazing job on its history.Bet the neighbor hood kids love you.

  • Superb model working hard it looks real.

  • sickass layout

  • That loco is alcohol fired, they can quickly be converted to coal.

  • @svrronline - is it remote control? or just set the speed and let it runs?

  • Wow. That must have cost a shiny penny or two. Is that gas fired?

  • Really nice video! How do you control the speed of an alky steamer like that??

  • 0:05, mini wheelslip. lol

  • this video always cheers me up

  • Thats a killer train set

  • fuck me sideways i have done this before with my 00 gauge a couple yrs ago the weight of the train seemed to pull the train over

  • Ha, I was searching for videos of the real thig but this was still pretty cool. Nice layout!

  • One person has fear of heigths...

  • were are these sold?

  • How long does the fuel and water last in a locomotive like this or a smaller one?

  • wow! thats fantastic. I love these big american engines.

  • was this loco hauling real coal or gravel, or was it hauling empty cars with the plastic drop-in loads?

  • man.....wonderful!....from papapardal Brasil

  • Very Nice....Indeed!

  • I love watching this monster power through... Cool outdoor model as well. This is a cool video.

  • This has to be the best live steam video I've ever seen... nice strong plume, great sound, working hard... very realistic! Beautiful engine!

  • Love the loud bark from the exhast, something you don't hear very often from 1 gauge locomotives.

  • does anyone know where i can get one of these?

  • wow you sure got a big yard for this awesome garden layout.

  • When the rear set of drivers broke loose, it reminded me of my cat scratching itself!

  • How did your wife let you have all that without all the complaining all the time?

  • Very impressive!

  • Wow! A train that would be impressive in N scale, never mind 1/32!

  • might need a sander lol

  • This the only vid were I ve seen one of these Alleghenys working hard, very nice. theres no sound system to match that one

  • Wow!!! How cool is that!!

  • Excellent Video!!!! This is exactly what the Big locomotives are supposed to do, Work Hard!!!!

  • that is just excellent! The deep-throated chuffs are reminiscent of the actual H8s on video! Just awesome!

  • Waw impresionant, mi-ar place si mie unul

  • Don't the Japanese make excellent replica's of USA locomotives?

  • someday it could be cool we use model trains to help us make the world work

  • I wonder how your allegheny would against my n scale 4-8-4!

  • LOL

  • look at that exhaust steam, beautiful!!

    5 stars for you!!

  • that is awsome

  • *sigh* Only rich mans toys.. :(

  • There were 45 cars

    About 1/4 turn.

  • 2 questions;

    1) How many cars?

    2) How much throttle did u have to give it to keep going w/out touching it?

  • Yes, it is an alcohol fueled live steam loco

  • Is that a live steamer?

  • The Allegheny is a 1:32 scale model running on #1 gauge (45mm) track

  • what gauge is your railway?

  • I hope the over growth is intentional. Yet, it's still winter going into spring.

  • I remember seeing an Allegheny at the Baltimore and Ohio RR Museum.
