Was watching a video from another song that I absolutely love (The Road Home in case you're wondering) when I stumbled upon this video. Little does Youtube know that I just got home from accepting a scholarship to Luther. Coincidence? Yes. Really fucking awesome. Oh yeah.
Theres a song i thought was called requirem and the lyrics were "(begining) do not stand att my grave and weep......(end)do not stand at my grave and cry i have not died" but every song i find is not the same rythrm and version. Help?!!
@dajf95 Do not stand at my grave a weep...thats the name of the song actually :p our choir sang it once. Just look up Do not stand at my grave and weep choir
I performed this once with an honor choir and all I can remember is feeling the room vibrate with beautiful sounds and even more beautiful feelings. Gorgeous song and performed so breathtakingly. I do wish that they had taken a greater pause before the final "Mary" or even taken it just a tad longer. Such a precious song deserves an emotional and heart felt end. I felt it was a little rushed, but wonderful none the less.
I was apart of a state honor choir that preformed this and other songs, this is by far my favorite song that I have ever sung, I love the bass part in this more than any other song.
we did this piece in our choir. and i telling you it will for sure touch you and your audience pretty and powerful song... i'll sure do it when i become a choral director one day
So many memories with Cathedral Choir that year. I think this song topped it though, and was very happy to sing this with a great choir and also an excellent choir director
I'm going to sing this song in my choir either for the December or Spring concert at my school. I think this is a very beautiful song, reminds me of Wayfarin' Stranger which we sung a slow and sad version of the song last year. Songs like these make me tear up because of how touching they are. Can't wait to sing it <3
My brother sang this with a concert choir at his school. They sang it in remembrance of the Japanese earthquake and tsunami, where they turned off all the lights and the students stood in the aisles holding candles as they sang this. It was an incredibly moving, emotional experience.
We chose to sing this song, and performed it days after the Japan incident occurred. However, at the time, we had no clue the following events would take place until they did. It's crazy, considering the goosebumps I've gotten from it before.
And now?
Forget it. I'm in tears from the very mention of this song.
sooo awesome, my choir performed this a few months ago but at a slower tempo and i think that really stretched the emotion, i would have loved to hear this at a slower tempo..i prob would have cried
o my god if you dislike this song your a real critic because if you listen to the text this was apperantly after a big disaster and there prasing mother mary for protection and wow i cant belive a dislike....
I want my choir to sing this next year. It's just so beautiful!!!!
