  • no man im with you it sounds great. but ya i have a mexican version also of the tele... but when you installed the bigsby b5 to it in what ways did it change the clean bright sound?? i need to know asap before i buy it, thanks :)

  • guys obviously the camera is also killing the sound...so lets not hate this guitar probably does sound great

  • Yuck.

  • am I the only one that finds relic'ed guitars lame?

  • your playing is great, but I'm sorry, my Tele sounds way better.

  • Wouldn't have as many thumbs down if it weren't for the title. *shrug*

  • too much hate in this world....I think it sounded great.

  • Lol, at everyone complaining. Just remember who has 100k views =P

  • I love how he had to stop playing to use the bigsby...

Another schmuck who should stick to his white falcon at church.

  • too shay turtle. not only do you put people down for having some money but you correct them on grammer. sweet. u rule and u win on all fronts. i bet u play guitar better then jimi malmstein! please don't correct me for my foolish spelling of 'too shay"

  • you need to post a video on those chord for michael jackson please sweet sounding chords.

  • its not even a tele anymore, nothing tele about that, and btw, i hate people who put on bigsbys just for the look and to say you have one, you barely used it and when you did it was for that lame, untasteful wiggle people do at the end of songs which is a waste of a good bigsby

  • @nymetsrock so true. Teles are twangy, don't have whammy bars. Whammy bars are ment for Strats and humbuckers are best on a les pual.

  • @nymetsrock you yourself probably cant even use a bigsby well like you act. its like a floyd rose. you buy a guitar with it because its nice to have sometimes but in all reality, unless you solo nonstop you just arent gonna use it alot

  • @MrTheCircle i often use it with delay and modulation for nice, subtle pitch bends on longer notes that slowly drop in pitch, also for faster drops during more upbeat solos you hit a note and drop it down moderately slowly for a nice almost chorus effect, there are many uses for a bigsby

  • @nymetsrock yes there are. ive seen many telecasters set up like his where ppl did custom work on them. the bigsby works nice on them and sounds really nice with them if used right. unfortunately this guy didnt use it right

  • @MrTheCircle i know a bigsby can be useful, i have a few, i was just upset with how this guy barely used it but will most likely gloat around cause hes got one

  • @nymetsrock yeah i hate seeing guitarists brag about what they have. it gives us a bad look. you can have money and buy nice things all you want. doesnt make ya a good guitarist

  • @nymetsrock jeez dude the guy is just showing off his guitar a lil. what's the good of putting him down? hate is a strong word but a weak emotion.

  • @peterhbyrne hate isnt an emotion

  • I think this looks and sounds great - good job!

  • the clean tone sounds good but the dirty tone doesn't sound good at all

  • It sounds like shit. Mission accomplished, you little turd.

  • Watched this for the sheer audacity of the title alone....ha ha.

I should have know n better. Mushy indistinct tone. My Jap 52 sounds a LOT better than this.

  • I hate to tell you this but this guitar sounds like shit.

  • Leave the Bigsby for the Electromatic. Uck.

  • does your shirt say "OLD FART"???

  • Is that a song you are playing with the clean

  • eww

  • Meh

  • Why?

  • Like: The Bigsby, it looks sweet and I bet it's fun to use. I like the clean tones.

Dislike: The mushy, nasty distortion. I also think that it would probably sound better with some Fender single coils. The humbuckers even out the quack of the Tele, but I think that you could get clearer, warmer cleans with single coils and it certainly wouldn't be so muddy as with the humbuckers.

  • HOW DID YOU DO THE HUMAN NATURE HAMMER-ONS ? THEY SOUND FANTASTIC ! I CAN PLAY THE CHORDS EASILY BUT MY VERSION IS EXPONENTIALLY LESS AWESOME.

  • I probably don't even need to upgrade my '05 american standard tele. my stock tele sounds great to me. it all depends on the amp you have, really.

  • Nice chord work at the beginning!

  • andrewmoron357 It is obvious by your recent post you're immature, illiterate and foul mouthed.

I believe you are the perfect critic of this video. You're future is clear.

As to the guitar playing. The guitar, just as the player, wants to be something it is not.

A trip around you tube of Telecaster players will illustrate the absurdity of the claim that this is " The Single Most Bad Ass Telecaster Guitar Demo".. it simply is not. It ranks among the worst.

    No hate, bad performance.

  • the best part of the look is the bigsby, the clean is ok but thats a very cheesy song. and the overdrive sounds really bad! NOT badASS ha

  • I can never understand people who put vibrato arms on Tele's. And this is certainly nowhere near the most badass tele demo.

  • Nice Tele man, and good playing too! Fuck the haters! Just remember, there jealous of ya! None of them could carry a note in a bag! Where's there video's? Huh.....Where????

  • epic clean man!

  • hmm not really that bad ass. a fake relic with a bigsby one being played by a homeless looking pompous man more like. so thumbs down.

  • the cleans sounded great, the distortion not so much! Love the bigsby rig!

  • celtno1..

More is learned from honest criticism and advice than from well wishing

for a bad performance. , simply bad; as is obviated by 1/3 of the responses being negative . Why would anyone want to encourage mediocrity. My comments were honest. Why would anyone want to encourage mediocrity.

You do not know me or my experience, your comment of "just plain ignorance" in itself, is born of ignorance.

  • @bohemian46 - What a gobshite knobhead you are - I suppose your a deadly guitar man video performer - not - grow a pair of balls and rub them with sandpaper

  • lol

  • All these Haters!!! Thumbs up for a Tele with a Bigsby. I hope it gets you laid you John Mayer playing son of a bitch. Remember, don't love them hoes and always use a condom.

  • Nice rendition of Human Nature ! Definitely a great sounding tele but "best" is all about taste man.

  • The song you play starting at around 13 seconds sounds like the Folgers 'best part of waking up' melody.

  • Yeah, before saying this is the best sounding Tele in the world, compare to other telecasters out there...and tame the high end when you kick in the dirt, my ears have been raped

  • Self absorbed..Might I suggest spending more on lessons than gear

  • @bohemian46 What kind of encouragement is that to give to someone, just plain ignorance that was.

  • So it has a humbucker and a Epiphone bar on it..

  • "custom relic job"? - for the birds!

    clean - great, dirty - horrible(maybe the cam-mic?)

  • 0:30... should have kept it clean

  • @jeffie801 agreed, i muted when the dist came in

  • Comment removed

  • I think it does look pretty sick and it sounds great too!

  • What a joke...

  • I thought it sounded OK at the beginning, until the rat chewed through the speaker wire on the amp,

  • Your moms a relic! Not that Tele.

  • get a strat you poser

  • No it isnt...my 10 year old can play as good if not BETTER.

  • Tele with a Bigsby? Nice

  • dont know why people are posting bad comments, this is a pretty descent video and he is a pretty descent player.

  • @666MattsGuitar666 ...And you're pretty terrible at spelling.

  • @sgvslp

...And your pretty much a fag :P

  • @666MattsGuitar666 I get that a lot...

  • @sgvslp

    Only joking man! lol

  • Nothing like luring a friend into listening to something soft on headphones only to surprise them by cranking the volume up on them. This guitar is meant to be played just beyond the breaking up point or under. There is no musicality in your distorted tone. It sounds like pure sh*t. You do not have a sense for tone.

  • This guitar wants to be played clean :)

  • my telecaster owns this one. and it's no "custom relic". i do mod it though. i can't insult your wilkinson. and that's not because i can't see it with all that bigsby.

  • and a humbucker? you could have filled the body with lead, and had the same sound. it would have protected you from all the bombs you've had dropped on here as well

  • gross... bigsby on telecasters. switch your pots to 1M for vol, and like..... 250K MAX for tone. that'll trick tremelo. and be nuts

  • @vassilios620 1meg pot? I've never seen anything beyond 500k (active pups). What's the benefit?

  • @baconbag some teles were made with 1M pots in the sixties, twangayyy. i think it's a little much. 500k vol and 250k tone is what i like, with some nice vint caps in the mix (.022 and .001).

  • mini rails....fail

  • katastophe

  • You have an excelent guitar and palyed a beltyfull song human nature. Good

  • Cleans are killer, especially the neck mini-hum sounds... I would love to have one of these someday... but the overdrive just blew, hard...

  • Whats he playing at 0:11 !!!?

  • @Brentypooz It's Human Nature by Michael Jackson

  • cleanest my ass.dude my obey telecaster sounds cleaner than that and its duncan pickups in it,and also why does it sounds like you are trying to make country pop punk?

  • worst choice of your life? 0:36

  • bad luck fu

  • Totally bogus. It's not a Telecaster if it's got humbuckers.

And whatever it is it doesn't sound so hot.

  • single coil neck pups sound great, so i'd switch em. but i guess tele's are known for their bridge singles

  • What riff are you playing between :11 and :33? Or is that just something you made up? It's beautiful.

  • @holzam8

That sounds like Michael Jackson's Human Nature.

  • I love the look of a beaten guitar. But what's the point if you have no stories with it that led to those marks in the first place?

  • My non branded, hand carved, tele sounds wicked and most teles that ive heard sound pretty good, but its just personal preference.

Relic guitars are, on the other hand, one of the strangest things ive ever seen, so your going to buy a custom shop guitar thats been beaten to shit and pay for it?

    WHY?

  • if thats a telecastor... im george bush. thats nothing more than a suped up hot rod with a tele body

  • nice!!

  • "This is the best sounding and best playing Telecaster out there" - I hate to have to tell you this, but it really isn't!

  • Thats a good relic job.

  • tele+bigsby=win

  • I have a 92 thinline that sounds better than that...

it's all personal opinion though, I guess.

  • @credolicalcio i have the same problem with youtube videos. it compresses the audio really hard.

  • I dig the guitar, and the playing. But the single most badass Tele is still Keith Richards' Micawber....that's one Tele that could tell some stories!

  • Sounds like the folgers coffee song

  • What was the song you were playing before the overdrive? I need to know! P.S. Very nice demo.

  • Nevermind... I got it... Michael Jackson. Sorry, had a "moment".

  • Really, who should give a shit if it's a relic or not? Sounds good to me. Nice playing, nice guitar.

  • Personally, I don't dig the fake relic jobs either, not on a classic guitar such as a tele. It's like new jeans with worn out knees. If it's not through 20 years of love and play, then what's the point of dinging your guitar on purpose?

  • Anybody know if the clean piece he plays is an actual song or just an improv?

  • @TheRevJonnyNemo It's Michael Jackson's "Human Nature" in the style of John Mayer's performance at MJ's funeral

  • so then, wheres the clip of the best sounding tele?this is cookie cutter nonsense

  • Sounded great until you jumped on the footswitch. Less is more.

  • thanks for showing off your gear :-)

  • Better without the distortion

  • What a great and lively player you are dude. Some real soul in your playing.

  • Wow, that´s a relly nice guitar, clean she´s ring like a bell !! The dirty tone imo is a not so good setup of the drive pedal. But the guitar is great and your playing btw is relly fine!!

    Best wishes and ROCK ON!

  • Why would one pay good money for an axe that's been damaged by a machine INTENTIONALLY ?

Modern guitar marketing amazes me they can convince the masses to spend their hard earned money on any old scam. My generation has what the subsequent ones have lost, it's called discernment or the ability to think critically and to know when some greedy corporation has it's red, white and blue cock rammed firmly up your arse while it has both its hands in YOUR POCKETS!!! I hate RELICS & what they represent.

  • @TonyBurke100 That comment cracked me up, but I have to disagree. I like relics.

While nice new glossy finishes and perfect shines do look great, a properly done relic has much more character. Relics also take a lot less maintenence too, because they make imperfections cool.

However, I would encourage anyone who wants a relic to just get an equivalent guitar with a normal finish (which would also be cheaper), and just play it and batter it about until it really is a relic. Much more authentic.

  • Nice guitar, but you ought to know that Gibson pups are crap.

No good reason to have one in the neck.

  • @TheNeutralFan I have some 57 classics, wouldn't say there crap. To each there tone.

  • @glassbottleblues Fair enough.

I've never tried or heard one I've liked, but I'm not gonna flame on you if you have.

  • @TheNeutralFan I don't even understand what your comment mean's, maybe I'm too old 38 here. Flame on me? Sound's like something my 11 yr old would say to me.

  • @glassbottleblues Sorry, Internet speak (particularly on forums) for attacking someone for their views with flawed arguments and without any justification.

  • great sound. crap mic. that seems to be good to me!

  • Could you post a video playing the song that you're playing in the first half of the video (when you were playing clean)? That was a beautiful song, and you play it right. What song was it?

  • i think it sounds crazy awesome on overdrive!

    -enjoyed the video.

  • you had some nice clean tones going on.... then it went all straight down :(

  • do I spot 2 vertical ampeg 410 cabs in the back? I've never seen any like that before.

  • fake relics suck, you obviouslt dont know how to use a bigsby due to the fact that the only time you used it was end the end for a closing warble, and it wouldnt matter if you had a 3/4 single humbucker squier strat or that for the distortion you're playing

  • sounds great when you keep it clean, but you can hardly tell your changing notes once you tap in the overdrive

  • @credoilcalcio Yeah, overdrive isn't supposed to turn the sound into a solid lump of indecipherable mush, it is possible to use our controls so we have lots of gain while still maintaining SEPARATION.

People who CAN'T PLAY don't like that very much though.

You know that and so do I but the guy with the relic apparently does not.

  • @credoilcalcio i think that's mostly the crappy distortions fault

  • @credoilcalcio thats probably either due to the amp, or the camera's microphone.

  • @credoilcalcio its just because the gain was too high on the distortion

  • clean tone is brilliantly, sounds like shit when you hit the overdrive.

  • Man what song is that? Sounds like Human Nature but is still way different

Beautiful clean sound on the guitar too

  • @trZack

song is human nature, but its john mayers version:)

  • hey man what amp/effects are you running through in this video?

  • what was the piece you were playing at the start?

  • @shakeshaftthomas i think it's human nature by michael jackson....

  • Nice work mate. Ignore the haters-your guitar is great

  • sounded great till she started playing

  • fucking excelent guitar!

  • can i get tabs to for the clean stuff u played please

  • That is indeed a badass guitar.

  • love the distortion!!!!

  • Not near as bad ass as my Solid Rosewood.

  • what are you using for distortion? that sounded like a scary movie. lull you to sleep with some beautiful tone...and then...SPLATT!!

  • sweet

  • where is that beginning riff from?

  • @iamscottsol human nature - michael jackson

  • Cool axe dude!

  • Fake relic jobs are gay.

  • @TidewaterHooligans Relics are gay. Haha, way better when it's reliced by the time :)

  • @TidewaterHooligans

People that complain about things are "gay". The relic job was brought about because people weren't playing their 1959 les pauls and 1954 strats because they were too valuable, so people wanted a new guitar that felt like their broken in vintage guitars. Think, would you rather lug around your prized 1952 blackguard Tele or a Custom Shop replica that sounds and feels identical? Think before you post

  • @WoWintosh You just don't understand, I have a 1960 Gretsch 6210, no scratches, but checking on the nitro. I have a 1964 Fender Presicision, only a mediumsize chip on the back paint and some buckle rash. My two vintage guitars that were made before the 70's do not look anything like the fake relic. The fake relics are for people who think a vintage guitar will look like, without actually looking at a real vintage one. From your standpiont I think that is the case.

  • @WoWintosh And how cheap is it to have a guitar broken in? All of the scratches should be a part of the history of you and the guitar. Back in China the origination of the black belt came from the trainers training so much their belt would turn black. Anyone found purposefully getting their belt dirty was severly punished. This is the same for guitars. Im sorry but your points don't hold water in my cup. Buy a guitar and live the life with it, not artificially put there by a machine.

  • @TidewaterHooligans

So you're going to beat up your pristine stack-knob 1960 jazz bass? I'd rather keep it in the case looking pristine, while I PLAY a custom shop relic 1960 jazz bass. Who cares if it's authentic or not? Do you think an audience member can tell the difference? Do you think someone who listens to you on an album can tell the difference? Would ANYONE know the difference if you didn't tell them? I'd rather have a relic and play it, than beat up a clean, valuable vintage axe

  • @WoWintosh Dude you just don't get it. You keep the vinatges for album recording and you use the new ones for touring. Eric Clapton, Eric Johnson, and lots of others do this. IMO the newer built guitars are better than the old ones. And lots of people do use vintage guitars for touring. Look at Sting, he uses consistently uses a '54 Precision bass for touring, John Mayer uses his 50's black strat for touring, Clapton used Blackie in the 70's and 80's and that was all 50's strat parts.

  • @TidewaterHooligans It's got no MOJO!

  • @TidewaterHooligans yup - bought my Tele in near mint in 94, and it was about 10 - 15 years old then - previous owner sure babied it... She's earned every nick , burn & scratch on her.

  • @TidewaterHooligans Fake relic says im too cheap to get a real guitar.

  • @TidewaterHooligans hey, homosexuals have taste.

  • @TidewaterHooligans yes they are homo sexuals

  • I have the exact same guitar just in butterscotch blonde :)

  • @teomfb mmmm.. butterscotch blonde... gargglgle

  • Love that middle position clean tone. I notice you kept the original bridge - how do you find tuning stability?

  • Pretty guitar. That would be the perfect guitar (for my taste) if it was thinline and maybe a regular single coil in the bridge. This is the closest I've ever seen to my dream set up. Very nice.

  • what song is that i like the chords

  • all good until you play the distorsion

  • god dam there are some wine-e people watching this video "too much distortion" "relic jobs are wannabees" if some one wanted you to bich about the guitar they would have FUCKING ASKED. cool guitar by the way it sounds good maybe next time you should droptune it and play a slipknot song=D

  • @dohnty god damn you wine-e person watching this video "droptune" "play slipknot" if some one wanted you to bich about the song they would have FUCKING ASKED.

  • @bzablo you dumb fuck if you read the dam comment you'd realise that i wasn't biching about the song if i was you think for one second i would say it sounds good and plus i only said "MAYBE next time you should droptune" did you notice i said maybe and i only said play a slipknot song because 1 you inbred fuck JIM ROOT PLAYS A TELECASTER and 2 i personally think it would get under the skin of all the people who that hate distortion soooooo much that they have to pick on the dude playing.

  • @dohnty hahaha. i had a feeling you would take that exceptionally personal. keep your insecurities to yourself.
