Actually, I agree, and I'm a HUGE megaman fan! But as much as I love megaman, I love Final Fantasy more.

This definately has the beat and tune of a jungle theme from one of the older megaman titles. Don't remember then name of it, only that it sounds like a jungle theme.

It's a shame Laguna didn't appear more. He's probably my favourite character in the game (Apart from Squall, with whom I kinda identify a bit), but he doesn't have such a great role in the plot. Yeah, obviously it wouldn't be possible without him, but I think he deserves more of a spotlight role. Also, his limit-break is damn cool !

The Man With The Machine Gun is the best battle theme in FF8 by far.

And I also liked his friends. The one fights with two Katars and the other one fights with an Anchor. I mean.... WTF? How can he even hold it like this xD?

The sound quality for the pc versions of final fantasy was cheap MIDI to save memory and enhance functionality, so the it would sound drastically different, yes. I played both versions, but I didn't get around to playing the pc till around 2009. By then, an enhanced playlist of the soundtrack was released on the internet (patch), overwriting the cheaper sound. So the pc version was capable of having better graphics & the updated sound came quite close to the original OST.

It's funny...for a set of side characters, Laguna's battle theme trumps the standard battle theme for Squall and friends, IMO.

Nevermind the fact that I didn't enjoy FFVIII as much as I wanted to...the music for this game is pretty damn good.

And I have to say...again, SD, I love the way you vary your music selection from upload to upload.
