That. Was. Retarded. I'm using iMovie HD on my mac, and HELL no to that effect. If you by any chance have Photoshop or even a free painting tool, find the gunshot part you want to add the flare into, split the audio clip, press CTRL + ALT + SHIFT + F4 (i think?) and then highlight the complete picture you are paused at to add the shot. Then, take any picture editing tool and paste in a muzzle flare, then stick the picture back in the clip you split, and you're set.
