Tex had a feud with James Brown after James Brown took his wife, Bea Ford as well as the report that James Brown took his dance moves. He then wrote a song called "You Keep Her." They shared a few more shows together until Tex mocked James Brown's act of throwing a cape over his shoulder and screamed "please - get me out of this cape" James Brown later fired a gun at a nightclub belonging to Joe Tex.

I think this is the other song Joe wrote to James brown, for James stealing Joe's wife. The first was"You Keep Her. " The beat and harmony is a take off of James Brown's "Baby Don't You Weep." It is also said that Joe Tex's stage show heavily influenced Brown's.

JB said that he didn't know Bea Ford had been married to Joe Tex prior to him being with her.....James said that Joe Tex died still believing that James stole his woman.....but they had already divorced by that time
