It's much easier to Superboy to go inside the control booth and move the bridge than to just stop the car with his superstrength . Those script writers knew a lot how to write action scenes.
@Brownlyne Thank you. Glad someone else agrees on that. I never did care for Gerards take, especially his version of Clark Kent. WAYYYY too nerdy, almost Louis Skullnik territory. Newton looked the part, and frankly was a better actor than Gerard. Wish he had stayed on for the remainder of the series.
ITA! John Haymes really fit the exact mode for Superboy. I only watched when he was in the role. When I first saw him as Superboy, I was like he is The Superboy, just like Christopher is THE Superman.

He's flying is all wrong! He's supposed to fly with both arms outstretched, or swept back! What a retard! This guy is a joke! Christopher Reeve and Tom Welling could teach this loser a thing or two about flying!
According to the comics, he does that on purpose. He rolls with the punch, so that his opponent doesn't shatter the bones in his hand. They still feel the pain of punching his invulnerable body, but are spared the injury.
Wow, the flying effects got much better in the later seasons. JHN always looks like he's ducking the birds or something when he flies. Umm...this guy is falling WAYYYYY TOO SLOW...Roflol.
The music sounds A-Team - ish.

That guy's a retard. SB can't turn off his invulnerability, and even if he holds back his speed and strength, he'll still outclass the other dude.

Memories! I actually remember this episode! I was around 9 or 10 years old when I saw this. I always wanted to be like Superboy when I was a kid.

Newtons costume is damn well made. Perfect sized shield, cape really nicely situated on his shoulders... really cool.
And it ofcourse helps that Newtons physique was perfect for the part.

true ... the flying in Season ONE wasn't excellent but it was a new show and I guess John Newton was using his personal approach to flight.
