nooooooooo, porsche please don't do it, hybrid is slow, and a porsche can't be slow. want to save the planet, then make a v10 diesel and put two turbocharger on it to improve it's ummm... efficiency.
diesel is better. petral engine with supercharger will produce much higher torque at low rpm and a virtually flat torque curve across most of the rev range. check out the performance graph os porsche cayenne engine. the torque curve is flat fro 1950rpm all the up to 5500 rpm. electric motors are good for uses which has a constant supply of electricity, ie subway, trains. if you drive a electric car like you would with a petral powered car. the battery will run out very very very quickly.
Yes, but: The electrical motor HELPS the petrol engine when accelerating. So its giving extra torque (full torque from the very beginning) until the engine reaches 2000rpm. The battery is reloading while decelerating. But -you are right- top speed is lower.
@VoLtrex31 I don't think you understand how cars work. There is an acceleration pedal. That pedal is not a switch, it is attached to a cord which will allow variable amounts of power to be used. It varies from 0-100%. Of course if you put the pedal all the way down it will use a lot of power but you do not have to. Don't worry, you will not be burned if you put your foot down. You have clearly never driven an electric car as they are actually very powerful. Now you actually know something.
@NAMkiller I have not drove it my self, i was in the sit place...
and i drove honda civic 2009 hybride. and it is slow.. every 2 sec the engine is starting and shut down..
and the shut down up wasting fuel.. you must be misunderstanding how hybride engine works..
It is accelerate with fuel engine and after the batteries are charged it will shut down and switch to electric engine.and will drive till its dead and switch back to fuel engine..
A hybrid Porsche?! I think I might go cry now.....want to save gas? Go make a diesel version, Porsche! That's what BMW has been doing and has been doing VERY well with it I might add! Shoot, you shouldn't be buying a Cayenne if gas money is an issue anyway.
I think it is the first Porsche I have ever seen that was not driving fast... I am a bit disappointed :( It is a Porsche. But it does have the "sportier" hybrid option of the electric motor inline with the piston engine, so it works at any speed due to the use of the transmission; woohoo for gears!! :)
I agree with DrBrazil, nothing new Toyota makes the hylander with the same system the gauge cluster looks almost identical... Wow Proshe nothing putting your name on a car with the same technology that is in most hybrids and call it something amazing. Boring!
I absolutely love this video! But I know of something else that everyone would love. It is kinda creepy, because it actually works, but awesome. I found a way to figure out your crush. Try it for yourself at crush.wantsDOTit(replace DOT with .) before you say it's impossible.
it won't be like the LS600h believe me. It will be faster and more economical.

who told you that a hybrid is slow? acceleration could be even higher, because electrical motors produce full torque at any rpm

diesel is worst. It stays 200 years in the atmosphere!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Dobymania 2 years ago
That's incorrect.
TheChiefEngineer 2 years ago
@G0nny I drove it LoL. and it is very slow.
cause the electric power can not produce all at once or you will be burned or your
car will waste it all on the acceleration and you will get nothing left for drive with,.
basically you will accelerate with fuel but after that you'll be driving an electric motor.
